Draft Party Open Thread
The posts have slowed -- it's the end of the semester and the term papers are piling up on my desk -- but more are forthcoming. In the meantime, I'm curious to read how and where people are going to watch the draft.

I’ll be home with 5 of my die hard NFL fans, my mock draft board, all the info on as many players that we collected over the past year and bet 5 bucks with each other on what player will be taken before the pick is made, ofcource my 40oz Captain bottle of white Rum. Thee next best day of the year after the superbowl.Let the madness begin.

If I can get tickets, I’ll try and go to New York and watch it live, but I’ll probably just listen to it on the radio.

I think Clarett is a head case along the same line as Bryant,Ross,Larrimore and Blade, dont waste anymore draft picks and time on these idiots. What has Clarett done to deserve to be drafted——-nothing.From now on I want to draft Character guys and sign free agents like Bledsoe,Ferguson,Henry,Rivera. What do these players have in common, they stay heathy and on the field.

I will travel to Las Cruces, NM and watch the draft with 5 of my friends and random guest. We will have a BBQ and our own mock draft. Food will consist of ribs, pork chops, rib eye, hamburger, hot dogs, chips/dip, and drinks. As you can tell we go all out.
We will have a sing that reads “No F***** Reskin fans allowed.” Everyone present must come in Cowboys Blue (with the exception of the co-host he is a die hard Bears fan) or you are not allowed into the party. Other than that I will kick back and watch the draft. I hope Parcells trades down if DJ or Williams are not available. Furthermore, I would like to go on the record and tell everyone the Cowboys will win the Super Bowl next year.
NFL Draft is right after X-mas, Mother’s Day, and Super Bowl when it comes to Holidays. It’s better than New Year’s.

Will watch the draft from my living room , or the “war room” as my 2 daughters call it,along with my Dominos pizza guy and my wife “The Wing Chef” . As for the draft, like my grandpappy always said , keep it simple…If you have a nail & a hammer , dont do anything fancy , just hit it. In choice 11 , fill Merriman in if available . Gives you a choice for the 3-4 , or if it looks stupid , you can go back to 4-3. Now in
pick 20 , gotta go with the best receiver on the board , just in
case “give me the damn ball” pulls a T.O….happy drafting , yall…

I’m living in Switzerland so I was hoping to “watch” the draft by boucing between websites and, if possible, streaming a sports radio broadcast — that was until I learned that my son’s basketball team is playing a tournament in Fribourg with the team staying on to watch the local pro team play for some sort of championship. Even with the six-hour time difference to the East Coast, I’m not likely to be back home before theboys.com has passed judgement on the Cowboys first move in the first round.

I’ll say amen, because I have cable, that in the U. S. doesn’t mean a thing, because almost every media outlet will give information, but living in Veracruz, Mexico, you only get the 1st round through cable, and then, pure web browser.

(am borrowing from my previous entry)
Thank the mighty lord for Tivo. I’ll be “watching” the draft all day from home in the SF bay area. Will be out and about on short chores on saturday but Tivo’s got my back.
Whatever happens, my blood will be racing through my veins when the commish is ready to announce #11. Iâ€â"¢ve no idea what the ‘boys will do. Iâ€â"¢ve no idea what will happen before pick 11. During. And after. Anything can happen. Anything. And then repeat it at 21. And 42.
Last year, we all knew the Cowboys would take a RB with their #1. It was all just too perfect. No RBs taken. Our pick of either Virginia Tech or Oregon. Its got to be Steven Jackson. Theyâ€â"¢re probably dancing around the Cowboys war room as New England went with the DT. And then… What the hell? Why are my ears lying to me? A trade into the 2nd round? Betrayal! Anger! Fury! Revenge! Once again, JJ sticks a knife in us fans. His need to be a wheeler dealer gets the best of him. No #1 RB. The season is lost.
Luckily, those guys in the waroom were much smarter than I (and Mel Kiper and most every analyst out there) with that decision.
I’ll be ready for more of the same this year. Maybe a RB or Mike Williams or DJ will slip to #11. My blood will be racing and my head about to explode. Iâ€â"¢ll have a bag of ice ready for me when I stop yelling and the comish approaches the podium to announce… at #11, the Dallas Cowboys trade….

Rafael,
Before I even answer, I just wanted to thank you and all of you Cowboys fans for making this draft a little more enjoyable. It was nice sharing thoughts with all of you. I shared similar ideas with some of you, like Rafael, but also had a different view than others, thank you very much Jon! JK It’s been fun, and hopefully the next couple of days will be just as exciting, if not more!! Just thought it was a good time to say, “Thank You”.
Oh one more thing …. LETS GO COWBOYS … BABY!!!!!!!

I’ll be watching the first two rounds at a bar with a few friends. After that …. I’ll be checking out the women in the bar! Hey there’s some nice wheather up here in the North East, and they are starting to wear those really short shorts. Wouldn’t you? Anyway, let’s go Cowboys!

I will be watching alone. I’ll give my wife money to leave and stay gone until 8pm. Would like to find other Cowboy fan in Waco area that is as wild about football as I am. Then we could watch on my 60 inch hdtv in high definition.

I’ll be at home with a stocked refridgerator. I’ll have the TV on ESPN and my computer on whichever website gives me the best information. I won’t be answering the phone and there will be little human contact for me the whole weekend. Just me, food, and draft.

Hey fellas, off the subject but does anyone know anything I dont know about Kalen Thornton? Parcells seemed to like him last year for his pass rushing ability, but I have not heard him mentioned once in this year’s plans, can somebody educate me.
