both defense are playing really well and are limiting the offenses. We’ll see who makes the best adjustments after the half

BS call..that was no holding.
TOUCHDOWN!
WHAT A CALL!

Bledsoe doesn’t look like a bus driver so far this season.
by Derrick on Sep 19, 2005 9:50 PM CDT reply actions
If my stats are correct, that means everyone on the D-line rotation has a sack except Ferguson.
It’s rookie introduction day today!
by Fighter15 on Sep 19, 2005 9:53 PM CDT reply actions
I’m noticing Keyshawn always plays with a smile on his face, whether it’s a bad play or not.
by rich on Sep 19, 2005 9:58 PM CDT reply actions
good play bledsoe, nothing there, throw it away, play defense
by Derrick on Sep 19, 2005 10:00 PM CDT reply actions
drew could have run for that 1st down…
great special teams.
by rich on Sep 19, 2005 10:00 PM CDT reply actions
WTF was that! It’s 3rd down and he had all day!
Dang it!

only 2 recievers, neither open, good job throwing it away
by Koolaid on Sep 19, 2005 10:02 PM CDT reply actions
I dont think so rich, looked like the linebacker was filling that hole in a hurry
by Derrick on Sep 19, 2005 10:02 PM CDT reply actions
Washington played alot better against the blitz during that series, liked to see Dallas bring a corner blitz next defensive series
by Derrick on Sep 19, 2005 10:13 PM CDT reply actions
You know, it looked like Glover pushed him with his hands in the chest…didn’t see a helmet hit.
by Fighter15 on Sep 19, 2005 10:13 PM CDT reply actions
Pettiti is playing very well tonight, the whole line for that matter.
by Derrick on Sep 19, 2005 10:15 PM CDT reply actions
OUR PLAY CALLING SUX!! LET’S RUN FOR ANOTHER 3 FREAKING YARDS…
THEN WE CAN THROW UNDERNEATH ON 3RD DOWN.
punt.

Now THAT is a weapon.
Anyone else notice how tight our ST’s play is?
by Fighter15 on Sep 19, 2005 10:18 PM CDT reply actions
special teams!!! GOT ’EM DEEP AGAIN!!
let’s go after ’em!! BRING IT!!!
by rich on Sep 19, 2005 10:18 PM CDT reply actions
rich,
Washington has done nothing on offense, so why would you risk throwing a ball that might get picked off and returned for a touchdown and let Washington right back in the game.
by Derrick on Sep 19, 2005 10:20 PM CDT reply actions
our play calling does suck…
where’s Crayton? Glenn? We could have opened it up.. the slow and steady Parcells run.. conservative is not always the best way to go..
we are not out of the woods yet…
by MikeA on Sep 19, 2005 10:20 PM CDT reply actions
derrick, fighter… uh… guess it’s just us here holding down the fort tonight, huh.

by MikeA on Sep 19, 2005 10:21 PM CDT reply actions
right, mike. playing conservative in a close game IS risky. We gonna WAIT for them to score before we start opening it up?
We gotta be smart. They KNOW we’re gonna run on first down. Play action???? I know what you’re saying, but damn…
by rich on Sep 19, 2005 10:24 PM CDT reply actions
MikeA,
I think we have this game, just dont want to see a dumb play that lets a team right back in it.Last thing we need is a turnover.
by Derrick on Sep 19, 2005 10:25 PM CDT reply actions
Wonder what happened? Game gets good and everyone’s gone!
by Fighter15 on Sep 19, 2005 10:26 PM CDT reply actions
I hear ya.. I believe in our receivers, they should use them more..
redskins haven’t been blitzing much.. we should take advantage of it IMO
by MikeA on Sep 19, 2005 10:28 PM CDT reply actions
It’s 10-0. c’mon, man. that ain’t crap. Skins get a lucky TD and a field goal ties it. freakin overtime and they can “steal” a win.
These early games are important.
by rich on Sep 19, 2005 10:28 PM CDT reply actions
how about our secondary guys? they have stepped it up.. might be one of the best as the season progresses
by MikeA on Sep 19, 2005 10:28 PM CDT reply actions
Can you say footsteps? We got these guys playing with midget arms.
by Fighter15 on Sep 19, 2005 10:29 PM CDT reply actions
I’d like to see the defense on the field alittle more tonight to help them gel and help them understand the defensive schemes.

yeah.. a hard hitting bunch.. Henry knows how to hit!
yeah.. a hard hitting bunch.. Henry knows how to hit!davis and Roy are the crunch…. scaring the hell out of receivers.. thats almost as good as great pass protection
by MikeA on Sep 19, 2005 10:31 PM CDT reply actions
okay. it’s gonna be an ugly win, no matter who gets it. skins ain’t doing anything on offense- either.
I think if we can score even a field goal (Cortez!!), we should have it- unless we totally melt down.
don’t think the skins are gonna pull 2 TD’s outta their butts when they haven’t scored one in 7 quarters.
by rich on Sep 19, 2005 10:31 PM CDT reply actions
There’s the reason why I dont like having different centers in the game.

Just got off the phone with an old roomie of mine from NY and he tried to give me a hard time about this only being a 10 point game. I want to see the Giants try and score 28 points against the Skins’ defense.
by Jarad on Sep 19, 2005 10:41 PM CDT reply actions
I know there is a lot of consternation about playcalling, but I really like the way the ’Boys have controlled the clock.
We have more than 5 min more of possession time.
However, that last call was horse manure

by Jarad on Sep 19, 2005 10:50 PM CDT reply actions

by Cosby Sweater on Sep 19, 2005 10:51 PM CDT reply actions

by Cosby Sweater on Sep 19, 2005 10:56 PM CDT reply actions
watch. the skins should get the ball back with PLENTY of time. we’re gonna run and get stuffed. then we’re gonna pass- and they KNOW we’re gonna pass- and there you go.

another pass 4 yards short of the 1st down…

Terry Glenn on a flea flicker helluva bomb from Bledsoe. Not sloppy, just a little slow a step behind. Let’s hope we pin em deep and the D holds up.

by SweetDickyWillie on Sep 19, 2005 11:36 PM CDT reply actions
Mantab, the defence played well until it mattered. They did not stop a single fourth down conversion, they could have closed the thing out with one play.
Gotta expect it with a young team, but it is damn frustrating to watch!
by Gib on Sep 19, 2005 11:37 PM CDT reply actions
this game was given away. how do you let a guy throw 2 bombs on you in the 4th quarter? zimmer needs to be run out of town. and A. glenn, and roy williams failed this team. as for our next to last drive, whoever called those last 3 plays should also be run out of town. and let me end this by saying, i hope those cowboy hating NFL refs are happy. all the big calls went washington"s way. and at the worst time. this game never should have been lost. its on BP too, hes the head coach.
by don pertha on Sep 19, 2005 11:37 PM CDT reply actions
So, how big was that missed field goal? We need a new kicker and fast!!!!!!!
This really stinks! I would rather have seen us beaten soundly, rather than like this! It’s a serious body blow!
Two good things, is the defense played solidly except for those 4th down conversions, and the long ball (we gotta improve on that.) And, our punter is one of the best, if not the best in the league right now.
Well, I hope this loss builds some character, because it doesn’t get any easier. To top it all off, we didn’t get to see the triplets inducted into the ring of honor live, and the stinkin’ Giants had an extra home game that they won. This sucks all around!!!!!

No it isn’t ManTab
The fact is Sean Payton was trying to win the game by controlling the clock.. running the ball.. well the redskins brought up their safties and stopped the run.. they were not blitzing.. we should have passed it more often earlier.. to open up the run.. our Defense got worn down and out…
that is why our D lost it.. they were on the field almost the entire 4th qtr!
by MikeA on Sep 19, 2005 11:38 PM CDT reply actions
play calling al game sucked- only TD was on a trick play!! and why did we stop blitzing?
hope we learn from this. Roy Williams is still the guy. Bledsoe said it best- when you win they love you, when you lose they wanna run you outta town.
I know I was negative tonight, but I saw it coming. I knew we were playing like scared B!#ches. we called a crap game- but we WILL WIN A BIG ONE SOON- MAYBE PHILLY, if we give it everything we got- not like tonight.
A ugly win was not gonna cut it tonight!!! Not against a huge rival on Monday night.

Glenn also won us a game last week so we choked we cant blame it on anybody. What about Flozell’s “holds” on what should have been a 1st down? Bledsoe looked pretty good once again, no INTS. Glenn had a huge game, and the O-Line did good pass blocking, just not run blocking. I predict a huge game for Julius next week.

TONIGHT it was Payton and his CRAP play calling!!!! Those two bombs at the end didn’t hurt as much as us calling a bad game!!!!

James, I agree with you, still……this hurts bad…against the pigskins…..nooooooooooooooooooooooo

I laugh at all of you guys who watched the Cowpies choke.

and NO COSBY- NOTHING these guys- or anybody- does can tarnish the 3 new stars in the ring of honor….
we’ll get there, guys. this new squad just needs to find it’s own way- AND a new kicker!
by rich on Sep 19, 2005 11:49 PM CDT reply actions
damn right…the kicker sucks. if parcells is conservative as we know, then the kicker needs to be money
by skullmunky on Sep 19, 2005 11:50 PM CDT reply actions
bledsoe live on espn news…
On the ring of honor thing, I just meant the boys should’ve played a full 60 if for no other reason than to honor the triplets.

OFFENSIVE HOLD CALLS ARE KILLING THE GAME!!
What’s up with that. Flozell called for two holds. The second one was part of the chain of improbable events that led to our stupid, stupid loss. These calls are ridiculous.
And the personal foul by Glover on Brunell? What was that?
Bottom line, today’s loss is insanely ridiculous. All of us fans are worse off because we watch it. I’m embarrased tonight to be a Cowboys fan.
by Carioca on Sep 19, 2005 11:55 PM CDT reply actions
Brunell and Gibbs both say they’re lucky…it was just to good, lucky plays…also said that the D was playing quarters on both TDs, rather than two deep…they took advantage…
by Cosby Sweater on Sep 19, 2005 11:58 PM CDT reply actions
We’re susceptible to giving up the long ball. We can’t stop anyone on 4th and 15, 4th and 33, 4th and 65………… Our kicker makes me miss Efren Herrera and Tony Fritsch…………. The Eagles are gonna kill us. T.O. may score on 4 long TDs………. It’s gonna be a long season!
Oh yeah, the sky is falling!
Yes, this sucks a lot, but it’s only week 2 and besides, would you rather be rooting for the Vikes, or the Bolts who are 0-2? These teams were expected to kick butt, and they’re not. The Beagles are 1-1, so are the Pats and Falcons, so cheer up, we’ll bounce back from this.
Hey, is Eddie Murray available? We need him again! Heck, even Jason Hanson, since we’re going after former Lions kickers. I’ll take Al Del Greco over Cortez anyday for that matter! Hell, is Tim Mazzetti still tending bar?
We need a kicker!!!!!!!!!!!
by onepaniolo on Sep 19, 2005 11:59 PM CDT reply actions
Those two holding calls on Flozell were bad calls! He pancaked the guy on one of them, according to Madden! Bad calls, coupled with a bad kicker, plus giving up 4th down plays and the long ball did us in.
Oh, conservative play calling as well. Now I know why Jim Fassel took away play calling from Sean Payton, when they were with the Giants. I think Bill should start calling the plays.
by onepaniolo on Sep 20, 2005 12:04 AM CDT reply actions
Yeah its only a matter of time till when Parcells calls the plays. Again where was Price? He should have spelled Crayton or Glenn or KJ during the game. I also saw Al Singleton with some shaky plays out there. Its a young team and thats what happens. We’ll crush the 49ers.
by Lou on Sep 20, 2005 12:08 AM CDT reply actions
we’ll be fine. and if we’re gonna consistently lose these close ones- and there’ll be a lot of ’em- then you know what THAT means:
Another high draft pick next year!!! Woohoo!!
seriously, next week will be better. let the skins have their day, night, whatever. Remember when we ended their perfect season run??? Now THAT was history- this is just a speed bump…
a really stupid, stupid speed bump.

Well, now maybe the Football Gods are appeased since we were lucky to win last week.
by David on Sep 20, 2005 12:10 AM CDT reply actions
we need to make a sacrificial offering to the football gods…
maybe we can give them cortez?
by rich on Sep 20, 2005 12:12 AM CDT reply actions
Does this remind anyone of last weeks game where the Cowboys beat the Chargers? The better team lost not due to horrible play by thier players, but slightly flawed play calling, and last minute miracle plays by the opposing team. I hope the rookies see this as a reason to not get cocky when winning, and play the game till the end. Not a big deal
by Brad on Sep 20, 2005 12:19 AM CDT reply actions
Okay, everyone SETTLE DOWN!
We lost the game the same way we beat them last year – by luck.
Payton did a good job caling plays. Our kicker isn’t that bad, come on, he nailed two of them, missed one barely, and all the kickoffs went into the endzone. Cundiff can’t do that.
Washington is a descent team. We’re going to be better than them, just not tonight. I think that we will also find that the NFC East is going to be the toughest division in football (Manning is on point for the G-Men).
It’s a 16 game season. We probably just went from 11-5 to 10-6, but we’ll end up beating someone we shouldn’t have to make up for this one.
It’s not like we suck. We just took one on the chin.
We’ll be fine.
BTW, ’Boys vs ’Frisco is the late Fox game this week.

It is always a mistake playing not to lose in the NFL. The Redskins defence is solid and we knew it was going to be tough sledding today. but to lay up for the field goal and not go for the win is pathetic. We need to develop a killer instinct and put our opponents away.

I think it’s going to be come down to the wire to get into the playoffs this season…this could easily be one we wish we had back in 16 weeks.
by Cosby Sweater on Sep 20, 2005 12:49 AM CDT reply actions
I have said so in the past and I’ll say it again. We do not know who this team is. And after tonight I still don’t know. All the conservative play calling just killed us on both sides of the ball. Why was Glenn on the outside after Moss blew by his rickety ass on the first TD? Oh I am gonna kill my Dog! I gotta buy one first, then I’m gonna KILL IT! We lost a gimme at home. If we don’t put up 30+ on SF we can’t play with the Eagles. I’ve seen better play from WNBA teams. YOU CAN NOT COACH IN THE NFL AS IF YOU ARE AFRAID TO LOSE YOUR JOB.

Wow, thanks for the entertainment. My god, what a satisfying experience reading all your pathetic whining on the same night the “triplets” get inducted. I’m glad ABC didn’t show them. Nobody cares anymore!
WAA WAA “Cortez sucks…Parcells sucks…Payton sucks…Bledsoe sucks”
Yeah, any of you could have called a better game!
The Cowgirls lost because of one simple reason: NO HEART. Stick that in your ring of honor!

The cowboys were just not good enough, the Redskins stuck with it and hall of fame coach Joe Gibbs owned the boys.

Highlights of the game are circulating throughout the Redskins fan world. What a great day to be a Redskins fan.
Seriously though, I enjoy the rivalry very much. I look forward to the next game between the two. Goodluck fellas.
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!

HAHAHAHA! you stupid cowboy losers! Figures you would blame it all on the kicker. You show your true scumbag loser colors when you complain about the telethon being televised instead of your stupid ceremony. You deserve the bitter loss!
