Did I say “front”…? I meant “punt.” God only knows how I managed to screw that up.
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 3:23 PM CDT reply actions
Get Davis outta there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by Sharkz on Oct 2, 2005 3:25 PM CDT reply actions
that was ware covering Moss and then Keith Davis….we’re just stupid…
by ManTab on Oct 2, 2005 3:25 PM CDT reply actions
Red Zone defense is holding up so far…. Let’s see one more stop on this 3rd down.
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 3:26 PM CDT reply actions
Ware sack…..he’s forgiven!!! dont put him in front of Moss anymore though
by ManTab on Oct 2, 2005 3:26 PM CDT reply actions
thats what happens when you’re a single threat team.
by theogt on Oct 2, 2005 3:27 PM CDT reply actions
Newman got schooled last year by Moss….we have to put 2 guys on him….
by ManTab on Oct 2, 2005 3:27 PM CDT reply actions
Did you guys notice how Ware was lined up on that sack? He was canted inward at like a 45 degree angle off the end rather than facing the line head on. Kind of an unusual look.
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 3:28 PM CDT reply actions
fox game coverage sucks!!!!! i know i havent missed much…but i am stuck watching the giants :|
by mad_mike on Oct 2, 2005 3:30 PM CDT reply actions
Did that ball hit the ground? He was bobbling it, but it looked to me that it actually hit his forearm rather than the turf…
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 3:31 PM CDT reply actions
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
by ManTab on Oct 2, 2005 3:31 PM CDT reply actions
I’m at work, can someone please give me link to listen to game live over internet. Thanx in advance!
by Clint on Oct 2, 2005 3:32 PM CDT reply actions
oh well…listeneing to a stream….maybe i dont want to see this start…BAD SNAP jerry should have laid out hi
by mad_mike on Oct 2, 2005 3:32 PM CDT reply actions
good adjustment by mcbrair…new deep snapper almost screwed it up
by rc on Oct 2, 2005 3:32 PM CDT reply actions
Keith Davis with the Roy Williams-style shoulder hit on LaMont Jordan. Jordan got 2 extra yards because Davis went for the kill rather than hitting and wrapping up. I learned how to tackle better than that in like 3rd grade.
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 3:34 PM CDT reply actions
Ouch. We can’t win ’em inside the 5 yard line. 10-0 Oakland.
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 3:36 PM CDT reply actions
need a link to stream game. Last week at my home someone gave me link to listen to but it is saved at home.
by Clint on Oct 2, 2005 3:36 PM CDT reply actions
lets see if bledsoe can bring us back from behind YET AGAIN
by mad_mike on Oct 2, 2005 3:36 PM CDT reply actions
i hate it when bledsoe pats the ball. the more he pats it, the more likely he will be sacked.
by skullmunky on Oct 2, 2005 3:37 PM CDT reply actions
how many men did they have on the line, i counted more than seven.
where is the flag?
by J on Oct 2, 2005 3:38 PM CDT reply actions
guys, you can look for a link in past game threads. I dont have it saved. Its kicks99 or something like that.
by theogt on Oct 2, 2005 3:38 PM CDT reply actions
Terry Glenn came WIDE open down the right sideline, but it was just as Bledsoe had to spin back the other way to avoid the collapsing pocket. That could have been a touchdown with just another second’s worth of protection.
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 3:39 PM CDT reply actions
Mat McBriar is a golden god. We should pay him anything he wants when his contract is up.
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 3:40 PM CDT reply actions
this sux….i guess i’m getting drunk earlier than expected
by Cortez#1Fan on Oct 2, 2005 3:44 PM CDT reply actions
I hope BP wises up and get Davis outta there and puts in Pile or it’s gonna happen again…..
by Sharkz on Oct 2, 2005 3:45 PM CDT reply actions
can someone say 3-3…we have philly next week
by Cortez#1Fan on Oct 2, 2005 3:46 PM CDT reply actions
Giving up the deep pass has once again put us in a hole, we have to get this straight or its going to be a long day
by Rick on Oct 2, 2005 3:47 PM CDT reply actions
My God. That’s what you all an open receiver. I can only guess that the play action sucked in everyone in the secondary…
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 3:47 PM CDT reply actions
how is moss getting so wide open? not like we didn’t know he was playing today…
by lower numb on Oct 2, 2005 3:47 PM CDT reply actions
substitute cortez for davis….hopefully that way he gets injured and gets released
by Cortez#1Fan on Oct 2, 2005 3:48 PM CDT reply actions
Ware was about to put Collins in the hospital, if not the morgue. Just a tad offsides…
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 3:49 PM CDT reply actions
Those of you that are watching this game, Do we look flat or is Oakland just look that good?
by Rick on Oct 2, 2005 3:49 PM CDT reply actions
looks like dallas and philly are in the dumps for the nfc east. how the hell can washington and NYG be better than us AND philly right niow. PHI is down 17-0
by ryan-ct on Oct 2, 2005 3:49 PM CDT reply actions
we look terrible on both sides of the ball…Moss with 100 yards already and th offense reminds of miami under wansted…slow, boring and ugly….conservative and stupid…still early though….hope the coaches wise up a bit
by ManTab on Oct 2, 2005 3:50 PM CDT reply actions
Cowboys are like an old lawn mower, takes em awhile to get started…
by Sharkz on Oct 2, 2005 3:51 PM CDT reply actions
Rick, in my opinion Oakland looks pretty good. We look ok generally, but we’ve made quite a few mistakes in the devensive backfield. I’m not worried about our offense—the protection is mostly there and receivers have been open at times. I think the offense will produce today, but I’m extremely worried about our defense.
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 3:51 PM CDT reply actions
I thought all this youth might get us a little more on the firey side.
by Rick on Oct 2, 2005 3:51 PM CDT reply actions
nah, they are more like a man who has erectile dysfunction and needs viagra to get jumpstarted
by Cortez#1Fan on Oct 2, 2005 3:52 PM CDT reply actions
I am truly trying to give this 3-4 thing a chance but I have my doubts. I take it we are in the 3-4??
by Rick on Oct 2, 2005 3:53 PM CDT reply actions
cortez, sorry about thd dysfunction problem, maybe you’re drinking too much…
by lower numb on Oct 2, 2005 3:53 PM CDT reply actions
I’m not as down as some people here. I think there are some encouraging signs.
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 3:53 PM CDT reply actions
ok matt…give me something encouraging, i need it
by lower numb on Oct 2, 2005 3:54 PM CDT reply actions
Radio called it Ellis…how’s it going? Moss killing us again?
by Fighter15 on Oct 2, 2005 3:56 PM CDT reply actions
I am listening to it on Field Pass, I got tired of looking for it. Just payed the price and now I can listen to it atleast.
by Rick on Oct 2, 2005 3:56 PM CDT reply actions
actually your girl told me about your problems but that’s beside the point lower numb…we have a game on the line bro
by Cortez#1Fan on Oct 2, 2005 3:57 PM CDT reply actions
im watching the live play by play on nfl.com
since i cant get it on TV
by ryan-ct on Oct 2, 2005 3:57 PM CDT reply actions
we HAVE to get the passing going since OAK has a terrible pass defense…now its gettin started
by ryan-ct on Oct 2, 2005 3:59 PM CDT reply actions
Keep pounding away, it will pay off later in the game.
by Rick on Oct 2, 2005 3:59 PM CDT reply actions
TT is playing in front of his college buddies so he’s gonna play his butt off!Nice catch TT!
by Sharkz on Oct 2, 2005 4:00 PM CDT reply actions
we should try tyson to the sides…he’s not doing to bad over the middle tho
by ManTab on Oct 2, 2005 4:00 PM CDT reply actions
lower numb:
Like I said in my earlier post, I think our line is protecting well, our running game has a respectable average, and receivers are finding open spaces on the field. On defense, we are getting pressure and collapsing the pocket on most passing plays, but we have had problems with the second level of coverage and with the play-action pass. We’ve limited LaMont Jordan on most of his carries, but he’s had a few long runs that we have to shut down.
Again, I think the offense will be there, and I like our ability to take care of the ball this season. We need to grow up REAL fast in the secondary (like in the next few minutes) and hopefully create a few turnovers.
We’re down 10 points, but it’s not even nearly over.
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 4:00 PM CDT reply actions
geez! TT looks like LT lol. running and catching! sweet!!!
by ryan-ct on Oct 2, 2005 4:00 PM CDT reply actions
let’s keep on moving the ball….let’s go boys
by Cortez#1Fan on Oct 2, 2005 4:00 PM CDT reply actions
Guorode in at center… seems to make a difference
by JKDallas on Oct 2, 2005 4:01 PM CDT reply actions
why isnt JJ in there? i mean i like TT but id rather see JJ right now
by ryan-ct on Oct 2, 2005 4:01 PM CDT reply actions
thanks matt….my primary worry is coverage, how could we be so unprepared….fortunately i have moss in my fantasy league this week
by lower numb on Oct 2, 2005 4:02 PM CDT reply actions
TT is fighting hard for those yards! been the man this series
by skullmunky on Oct 2, 2005 4:02 PM CDT reply actions
3rd and 2 and we give it to a rookie…ha ha ha ha…no no no
by ManTab on Oct 2, 2005 4:02 PM CDT reply actions
Yeah, and I have Kerry Collins starting this week in mine (and the TE Anderson). Of course, I would rather win this game and see Collins throw 5 INT’s than win my fantasy game.
C’mon Cortez (fingers crossed)…
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 4:03 PM CDT reply actions
Ladouceur is pretty good from what I hear, I’m surprised he was still available.
by jordanch68 on Oct 2, 2005 4:05 PM CDT reply actions
Ted Washington came out halfway throught that drive and Warren Sapp looked like he was going to puke. Oh for a three and out. The Raiders tackles are already gassed. Man, they’re the worst conditioned front seven I’ve ever seen. I can see why they collapse in the second half. Need to stay close to these guys.
by Rafael Vela on Oct 2, 2005 4:05 PM CDT reply actions
he almost did…i had to wait for the refs to signal it was good….i’m with you…i rather lose my fantasy game than have the cowboys lose. I have Kerry Collins, Lamont Jordan, and Randy Moss on my team.
by Cortez#1Fan on Oct 2, 2005 4:05 PM CDT reply actions
I started the New England def instead the cowboys this week……super pats gave me 0 points….amazing…..
by ManTab on Oct 2, 2005 4:05 PM CDT reply actions
lmao…cortez missed the tackle. nice try though
by skullmunky on Oct 2, 2005 4:07 PM CDT reply actions
Who do we gotta kill for some decent kick/punt coverage?
by JayDub on Oct 2, 2005 4:08 PM CDT reply actions
Wow, that replay really shows that Cortez probably saved a TD.
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 4:09 PM CDT reply actions
we stop them again…..OK, dammit, get a TD now and let’s get on track….enough suffering here…..it’s going to have to be a long drive tho
by ManTab on Oct 2, 2005 4:11 PM CDT reply actions
Alright, I’m a new Cowboys fan and I gotta know.. what do you guys think of Drew?
by RobinRhodeIsland on Oct 2, 2005 4:11 PM CDT reply actions
Sweet! Wow KC is really sticking it to the Eagles.
by jordanch68 on Oct 2, 2005 4:11 PM CDT reply actions
Collins going cold right on schedule. Now, for the offense to do something through the air.
by Rafael Vela on Oct 2, 2005 4:12 PM CDT reply actions
Bledsoe? pretty good so far…above what we expected I should say…..
by ManTab on Oct 2, 2005 4:12 PM CDT reply actions
Why did we keep Price inactive against Oaklands crappy pass defense
by Trev on Oct 2, 2005 4:13 PM CDT reply actions
Robin: Drew is the best QB they’ve had since Aikman, he makes good decisions and can make all the throws. The line just needs to protect him.
by jordanch68 on Oct 2, 2005 4:13 PM CDT reply actions
Unfortunately, I think that’s a legit 1-yd. line punt.
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 4:14 PM CDT reply actions
I grew up watching him with the Pats… followed him to the Jills and I know he’s still go it… I bet the Jills are happy now with LOSSman
by RobinRhodeIsland on Oct 2, 2005 4:14 PM CDT reply actions
Yeah they need to get Price into the game. He’s too good to be inactive.
by jordanch68 on Oct 2, 2005 4:14 PM CDT reply actions
we should be throwing more…..this deffense stinks…let;s take advantage of that with Glenn, price, keyshawn and witten
by ManTab on Oct 2, 2005 4:16 PM CDT reply actions
Good news – Philly is getting thumped by KC (17-0)
Bad news – Washington and the Giants won today
by Don S. on Oct 2, 2005 4:16 PM CDT reply actions
That is so clearly a catch. There should be no equivocation by the refs.
by Rafael Vela on Oct 2, 2005 4:17 PM CDT reply actions
His forearm and body hit out of bounds, his toes were in bounds, but they were centimeters off the ground and never quite touched in time. It was still an outstanding effort. We’ll lose the challenge and a timeout.
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 4:17 PM CDT reply actions
That’s redundant. If Dallas is challenging then it’s always wrong :)
by Don S. on Oct 2, 2005 4:17 PM CDT reply actions
Take the shot. What have you got to lose? The two minute warning is still coming up. If you win, you get about 19 yards of field position.
by Rafael Vela on Oct 2, 2005 4:19 PM CDT reply actions
Vikings getting killed again….sure they can live w/o Moss….no more travelling calls on that stadium….idiots!
by ManTab on Oct 2, 2005 4:21 PM CDT reply actions
Why is it we always start slow???? It seems to me that we have weathered the early storm and starting to play ball.
by Rick on Oct 2, 2005 4:23 PM CDT reply actions
Sapp absolutely owned Larry Allen on that play. If Allen pancakes him there, it could have been a 15 yard run at least.
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 4:24 PM CDT reply actions
sapp is quick for such a lard %ss….hopefully, as someone noted, he’ll be crawling by the fourth quarter….
by lower numb on Oct 2, 2005 4:24 PM CDT reply actions
Larry Allen really blew that one. If he holds his block on Sapp that’s a HUGE gain for Julius.
by Rafael Vela on Oct 2, 2005 4:25 PM CDT reply actions
great…now we get 3 heartstopping shots downfield.
by theogt on Oct 2, 2005 4:25 PM CDT reply actions
they have 1 minute left and a long field…….C O V E R R A N D Y M O S S P L E A S E
by ManTab on Oct 2, 2005 4:26 PM CDT reply actions
Lets see who is playing free saftey these next three plays?????
by Rick on Oct 2, 2005 4:27 PM CDT reply actions
ManTab, if you could add to your statement… BY SOMEONE OTHER THAN DAVIS, WILLIAMS, OR WARE
:)
by Don S. on Oct 2, 2005 4:27 PM CDT reply actions
Wow, what a throwaway series by Norv. Parcells should write him a thank-you note.
by Matt on Oct 2, 2005 4:29 PM CDT reply actions
Randal; still screwing up….should’ve let the ball roll
by Sharkz on Oct 2, 2005 4:31 PM CDT reply actions
our offense was horrible. what the hell happened?
by ryan-ct on Oct 2, 2005 4:33 PM CDT reply actions
Seems like the game was worse than a 10-3 score. Hate they didn’t put it in on the one time down there.
Not sure why they would put Barber in on that 3rd down. Either go with the guy that’s been running it or put Jones back in.
by Don S. on Oct 2, 2005 4:33 PM CDT reply actions
Ok lets hear your prediction for the second half Rafeal
by Rick on Oct 2, 2005 4:33 PM CDT reply actions
cortezfan, yeah 10-3 is cool. It could be much worse.
by theogt on Oct 2, 2005 4:34 PM CDT reply actions
…and hey, it could be worse. We could be Eagles fans watching our team get THUMPED
by Don S. on Oct 2, 2005 4:34 PM CDT reply actions
The Raiders O is slowing down. It comes down to throwing better. The running game is not bad. Julius is getting 4 and 5 yards a pop. I’m wondering where Witten is.
Oh yeah, 2nd half thread is up.
by Rafael Vela on Oct 2, 2005 4:35 PM CDT reply actions
anyone else watch the giants game? i know it was against a terrible defense, but their offense was really something.
by theogt on Oct 2, 2005 4:36 PM CDT reply actions
Oh yeah, I noticed the quick screen for Julius in the first half went for 12 yards. More throws to him please.
by Rafael Vela on Oct 2, 2005 4:36 PM CDT reply actions
My analysis is pretty simple…..This team is a lot better than what we’ve seen this year. We have talent unlike other years, we’re not being aggressive enough…I think 1 year of Quincy Carter and 1 year of toital misserly have really done good job on BP’s confidence as a coach….or something like that….open it up, pass all over and throw blitzes…..what the hell
by ManTab on Oct 2, 2005 4:37 PM CDT reply actions
O.K. why was Coach Payton, run given his walking papers by the Giants? I believe it was because of the same type of play calling that is going on here in Dallas. He was dismissed and the Giants started winning, hmm, maybe they saw something the Head Boy isn’t seeing.
I’m no coach, but shouldn’t we have gone after Oakland’s defensive backs since biggest weakness their pass defense (ranked next to last). Could part of the problem that JJ was having some trouble running be because Oakland was ranked 11th regarding their run defense? Not dominating but a heck of lot better than next to last.
Speaking of a lack of smart play calling, what happened to JWHITTEN. I seem to remember a time when a certain Mr. Novacek used to be called upon in the red-zone. What would it be like if the coaches decided to utilize all of their weapons like days of old.
