julius goes from “able to play” in the second half of the eagles game, to all of the sudden out for two games (at least)….last year, darren woodson goes from out for a month or so with back surgery i think to flipping retirement! what gives? for all we know, julius could be out the frickin year…so frustrating!
by ba on Oct 23, 2005 12:29 PM CDT reply actions
ba,
If you were watching him on the sidelines, you know “able to play” was just fluff for Fox. He was standing on the sidelines and was wincing and nearly buckling from the pain.
by Rafael Vela on Oct 23, 2005 12:36 PM CDT reply actions
Also, do you recall the replay of his injury? I thought his ankle was broken the first time I saw it. That he’s out two to three weeks is okay with me. It could have been a lot worse.
by Rafael Vela on Oct 23, 2005 12:38 PM CDT reply actions
yeah, it did look bad, but he came out and was bouncing around. he looked like he could go. also, bill and julius both said he was “fine”. that sounds like fluff from them, not from fox.
by ba on Oct 23, 2005 12:40 PM CDT reply actions
High ankle sprains are slow to come around, alright for running straight forward but making cuts like JJ does only makes things worse, its better to sit him until the bye week and have him ready and healthy for the second half run.Seattle will be a tough sled without JJ, but Arizona doesn’t scare anyone.
by Derrick on Oct 23, 2005 12:44 PM CDT reply actions
yeah, i mean i understand a high ankle sprain is a serious injury and painful to play with, but why say he is “fine”, when you know what the injury is? did they mean that he was going to live, just be out a few weeks, or that he was going to be back the next week. i could do without all the “fluff”. but we are going to lose this game if we dont have some kind of running game. their offense will wear our defense down if we dont get first downs running the ball. and that’s a shame, because with julius we would be the unquestioned favorite to win.
by ba on Oct 23, 2005 12:50 PM CDT reply actions
on a positive note, barber looked pretty good last week. i look forward to seeing him get more carries w/o julius.
by ba on Oct 23, 2005 12:52 PM CDT reply actions
I dont know about unquestioned favorite even with JJ in the lineup. You have to take what bill says with a GRAIN OF SALT, really, what purpose does it serve to tell your opponent that your starting running back isn’t going to play a week before you play that team, keep that team guessing until gameday. Let them practice as if JJ is starting.
by Derrick on Oct 23, 2005 1:20 PM CDT reply actions
“FINE” is such a great word………..ever tell your girlfriend
or wife they look “FINE” in response to that often asked
question “how do i look?”
by becker on Oct 23, 2005 1:38 PM CDT reply actions
ba,
I think that was for the Eagles consumption. If you think Jones is out, you go all out for Bledsoe. That’s why you give the impression that he’s always one play from coming back, IMO.
by Rafael Vela on Oct 23, 2005 1:43 PM CDT reply actions
The only problem when telling your wife or girlfriend, you look ’’FINE’’ in that dress honey, make sure your not rolling your eyes when you say it.
by Derrick on Oct 23, 2005 1:49 PM CDT reply actions
predict bunch of T thompson / witten on offense
more than normal blitz from our D
by linus on Oct 23, 2005 2:33 PM CDT reply actions
I’ve just checked the line on the Eagles game. S.D.’s just taken a 14-10 lead:
1. the Eagles went all in to stop LaDainian; the Chargers have -1 rushing yards through 3 quarters;
2. So Drew Brees is chopping up their secondary, just like Dallas did;
3. the Philly offense is still dreck. McNabb has 45 pass attempts through 3 quarters and the team has just 24 yards rushing.
this is after a bye. Their running game is dead, folks.
by Rafael Vela on Oct 23, 2005 2:39 PM CDT reply actions
yeah i guess he meant that julius was going to live but not play for 2 weeks…anyway, our run d as stopped lt, portis, tiki, and westbrook so i think we can contain alexander…our pass d has improved dramatically and our pass rush should give hasselcrack fits. so i think we would have easily handled the seahawks if julius could play

you all who dont get the game in your area should do what i do and just head to the local establishment w/ the nfl ticket. i like it because it gives me and excuse to go out and get drunk on a sunday afternoon.

I hate Reid….I like the fact the eagles are getting wrecked, but I have Westbrook on my fantasy and I think Reid has given him 7rushing attempts….what an idiot…..50 attempts to a guy who can barely move……
by ManTab on Oct 23, 2005 3:07 PM CDT reply actions
is there fog on the field or something? or is it rainy, or have I just not woken up from my afternoon nap enough?

Smoke from pre-game fireworks…..nice play by Henry
by sharkz on Oct 23, 2005 3:10 PM CDT reply actions
are those the worst unis in the NFL, apart from Cincy (of course)? the Seahawks look like they are the Blue Man Group.
by Mark on Oct 23, 2005 3:11 PM CDT reply actions
Vikes beat the Packers at the gun. BOTH of those teams are awful.
by Mark on Oct 23, 2005 3:13 PM CDT reply actions
let’s see if zimmer can make some adjustments while we have the ball
by linus on Oct 23, 2005 3:13 PM CDT reply actions
Eagles go on 4th down and don’t make it – FROM THEIR OWN 30. tried to PASS for a YARD.
3:30 left. the Eagles are in real trouble. ain’t that a shame! ;-)

i know it was just the 1st series but tucker looked ok.
by theogt on Oct 23, 2005 3:19 PM CDT reply actions
DISASTER IN PHILLY! blocked FG that gets run back all the way for a TD. Eagles lead in a game that they’ve played very poorly in, 20-17.
by Mark on Oct 23, 2005 3:20 PM CDT reply actions
lots of time left though. 2:25 left in Philly. go San Diego!
back to seattle…

keyshawn is a hellova receiver. i would say he is underrated nowa days
by ba on Oct 23, 2005 3:34 PM CDT reply actions
Keyshawn 3 catches. two of them 1st downs and 1 TD. NICE
by skullmunky on Oct 23, 2005 3:35 PM CDT reply actions
those fumbles have upped mr. K’s concentration that is a BP guy
by linus on Oct 23, 2005 3:35 PM CDT reply actions
Did KJ get both feet in? They didn’t review it but it looked like 1 didn’t touch.
by rmac on Oct 23, 2005 3:35 PM CDT reply actions
anybody still worried about Tucker or Pettiti????…supposedly the left end from Seattle is the best in the league, TT has had no problems so far….if we can manage to still give Bledsoe protection after the loss of Flo, we’ll be a 10-6 team AT LEAST
by ManTab on Oct 23, 2005 3:37 PM CDT reply actions
if TTucker plays like this the whole game i say losing Flo was a blessing in disguise. thats a big IF though.
by theogt on Oct 23, 2005 3:38 PM CDT reply actions
seattle will adjust to create more pressure they will come with more blitz

by ManTab on Oct 23, 2005 3:43 PM CDT reply actions
well, we got through the first quarter on the road and have the lead against a top offensive team, looks good so far.

has thompson fallen that far out of grace with BP?
by linus on Oct 23, 2005 3:52 PM CDT reply actions
but he’s running barber outside that is not a barber play
by linus on Oct 23, 2005 3:54 PM CDT reply actions
Looks like Bill gave Petitti an earful.
Bet that doesn’t happen again.
by JKDallas on Oct 23, 2005 3:55 PM CDT reply actions
I wouldnt like to put this game in our D’s hands against Shawn Alexander….they’re doing extrmeely well so far but it is still very risky. We have to able to protect Drew and get Glenn and Price deep against that back up safety and the 12 year old corner…
by ManTab on Oct 23, 2005 3:55 PM CDT reply actions
3rd and 2 and they pass — that tells you zimmer is doing great job
by linus on Oct 23, 2005 3:57 PM CDT reply actions
Philladelphia sucks….that blocked field goal was BS….the ball bounced up right into the defender’s hands….what a bunch of lucky bastards…..our D in the meantime is getting the job done…keep it up
by ManTab on Oct 23, 2005 3:58 PM CDT reply actions
i am more concerned about hassleback beating us than shaun alexander..
by ba on Oct 23, 2005 3:58 PM CDT reply actions
ok short field, i think ur gonna see bledsoe to price for a TD this drive
by nate on Oct 23, 2005 3:59 PM CDT reply actions
well, we finally got some good field position, lets have a good drive and get a touchdown
by Derrick on Oct 23, 2005 4:00 PM CDT reply actions
good call to witten offense is looking to do something
by linus on Oct 23, 2005 4:02 PM CDT reply actions
BP must not trust Tthompson to have A train run vs thompson when barber is running well says something
by linus on Oct 23, 2005 4:06 PM CDT reply actions
Wow, if the offense could just get over that hump. A 14 point lead lets the defense go for broke. With Hasselbeck playing like a crazy man and a wet ball, that missed pass to Keyshawn would look like 28 points.
by Rafael Vela on Oct 23, 2005 4:07 PM CDT reply actions
next level of adjustments so lets see how good zimmer is…
by linus on Oct 23, 2005 4:08 PM CDT reply actions
how many ints are we going to drop…guess that’s why they’re not receivers
by ba on Oct 23, 2005 4:08 PM CDT reply actions
no foul….ja ja ja ja…man we get lucky break here…that was obvious to me
by ManTab on Oct 23, 2005 4:09 PM CDT reply actions
thats the second time they have picked up a flag for us
by nate on Oct 23, 2005 4:09 PM CDT reply actions
yeah sure youre going to run it ten yards with dallas throwing the kitchen at your face…punt
by ManTab on Oct 23, 2005 4:10 PM CDT reply actions
we need a TD here….please….one that eats up the 5 mins left and then one to start the 3rd and we’re 5-2…..am I asking too much?
by ManTab on Oct 23, 2005 4:11 PM CDT reply actions
this D sure has grown up quick. 3 weeks in a row they’ve dominated the #1 offense.
by theogt on Oct 23, 2005 4:11 PM CDT reply actions
did that punt have an inflight movie on it, WOW!!!!!
by Derrick on Oct 23, 2005 4:11 PM CDT reply actions
now will sean adjust on offense — mr. K is open how much does he trust tucker and pettite? seattle will be blitzing
by linus on Oct 23, 2005 4:11 PM CDT reply actions
Read this week that Dallas is second in the league in Sacks, haven’t heard that stat in a long while
by Derrick on Oct 23, 2005 4:12 PM CDT reply actions
if our D can come up w/ more picks it will be tops in the league…looks like we’ve fixed our deep pass coverage..just gotta improve our hands (concentration)
by ba on Oct 23, 2005 4:12 PM CDT reply actions
barber is 9 for 52 yards and we are running thomas….
by nate on Oct 23, 2005 4:14 PM CDT reply actions
we’ll not win with those stupid penalties…..god damn
by ManTab on Oct 23, 2005 4:16 PM CDT reply actions
we cannot do this against this team, we have to put them away early like we did with philly.
by nate on Oct 23, 2005 4:16 PM CDT reply actions
we need a turnover here, hold them to zero for the first half.
by Derrick on Oct 23, 2005 4:17 PM CDT reply actions
wow….not one…two….Parcells is going to have a picnic at half time….
by ManTab on Oct 23, 2005 4:20 PM CDT reply actions
drew is getting pretty risky here. thats strange.
by theogt on Oct 23, 2005 4:20 PM CDT reply actions
liked to score here at the end of the second quarter and start the third with the ball.
by Derrick on Oct 23, 2005 4:24 PM CDT reply actions
If Barber can hold onto the ball and stay out of Parcell’s doghouse he would be having a huge game here. I think that fumble, with the problems he had during training camp, is keeping him off the field a bit here.
by EricR on Oct 23, 2005 4:25 PM CDT reply actions
why throw it into double coverage…no clue…that one is on Bledsoe if you ask me
by ManTab on Oct 23, 2005 4:25 PM CDT reply actions
drew is not reading double coverage he is fixated on glenn he needs to read the other way
by linus on Oct 23, 2005 4:25 PM CDT reply actions
ware has been looking like a 10 yr vet the past few games
by ba on Oct 23, 2005 4:26 PM CDT reply actions
have a talk with drew at half and show him the coverage
by linus on Oct 23, 2005 4:27 PM CDT reply actions
OK, I hope this doesnt bite me in the butt later in the year / or in the game…but our D is just amazing…..canr believe they got that FG from 50+ with the rain
by ManTab on Oct 23, 2005 4:32 PM CDT reply actions
55 yards?!? WTF…
I read that since Bill has been in town the other team has made an insane % of their FGs.
by Rami on Oct 23, 2005 4:33 PM CDT reply actions
I can’t remember the last time someone missed a critical FG.
by theogt on Oct 23, 2005 4:34 PM CDT reply actions
1//2
Off
make adjustments with drew
must spread on offense
use T Thompson on screen and outlet passes
lateral use will open up Barber
sit the train
Def
take more chances on defense Hassl is not sure what to do
intensity level is great on defense
by linus on Oct 23, 2005 4:35 PM CDT reply actions
I do not want to be OL coach Tony Sparano right now. His guys are again screwing up good calls. That holding penalty on Rivera killed. First and 10 on their 24, momentum and the clock winding down and you blow it because of a needless holding penalty.
by Rafael Vela on Oct 23, 2005 4:36 PM CDT reply actions
As I recall, counting that 55 yarder, opponents have hit 52 of 56 since Bill came to town. That’s 92.9%. I’m not sure what league average is, but I’ll bet that’s pretty high.
by Rob on Oct 23, 2005 4:37 PM CDT reply actions
I dont think Rivera held on that call. He looked like he pancaked the guy
by linus on Oct 23, 2005 4:37 PM CDT reply actions
Too many mistakes. I thought we were the better team but we did not take advantage… hope it does not bite us.
by Gib on Oct 23, 2005 4:38 PM CDT reply actions
The way our D is playing we should be leading by 10 or 14 points…..this game will depend on what type of adj are made by each team during the break.
If we win this one and against Arz going to the bye at 6-2 we’ll be loving this season each week more…we should be getting JJ back after the bye and Barber by that time should be even better than what we’ve seen today and at the ned of the last game……let’s go….chew them on the penalties Bill…..let’s get this moving
