Raf,

Are we going to see any of that 4-2-5?

by AlanTdot on Oct 30, 2005 9:57 AM CST reply actions

Did someone put in a wakeup call for ROY WILLIAMS today!!!!!
Will the Cardinals be looking to go deep today with Bolden and Fitzgerald,I think they will!!!! Look for the Cowboys to be in alot of nickel today. Roy you better be ready, and remember Roy,if you’re the over the top help in a cover two, Dont let the recievers get behind you. The Cardinals have nothing to lose, and the Cowboys everything to lose, this is a big game going into the bye week, 5-3 looks alot better than 4-4 with Philly waiting Monday night in two weeks. I’m Looking for the Cardinals to open up their playbook and throw everything at Dallas today, Dallas should and better win this game today or Bill will be hitting the roof and so will Cowboy fans.

by Derrick on Oct 30, 2005 9:59 AM CST reply actions

Over/under for Reggie Swinton-
punt return yards 9.5 avg.
kick off return yards 24 avg.
receptions 3
I’ll take the under on all 3.

Derrick:
I think that we will see a lot of the 4-2-5 that basically is a 4-3-4, with Roy Williams looking like another LB.

pro football talk rumor mill has a little piece up on Pettiti…

by Rob in NYC on Oct 30, 2005 11:04 AM CST reply actions

I hope Barber gets plenty of carries and blows up today since we cant count on JJ this week.

by Outkast on Oct 30, 2005 11:14 AM CST reply actions

i think derrick’s right. the cards haven’t won in Texas stadium since the 80’s, i think. So they’ll probably “throw” everything they have at us. Hopefully we can get the the quarterback early and often.

Ware played his first game as a pro against the cards and didn’t look too great, understandably. Hopefully he uses this game to measure how far he’s come in just one half of the season.

I just heard Jimmy Johnson say that DALLAS was the best team in the NFC East. Howie agreed. Bradshaw said Philly was, but justified it with an “I don’t know”….

by rich on Oct 30, 2005 11:46 AM CST reply actions

If you’re the Cardinals, I say they will want to scheme to isolate Fitzgerald / Bouldin on:

1. T Newman and 2. R Williams

How? Ans. Play action going deep

Newman tends to jump routes and Williams will alwayss be aggressive on reacting to the run

by linus on Oct 30, 2005 11:50 AM CST reply actions

pro football talk rumor mill uses quotation marks for comments made by “one source”. They should name the “source”. If Petitti improves, the source will remain anonymous. Until someone tells me that pro football talk dot com names the sources of their brave comments, I’ll never see that rubbish web domain again.

by Lee on Oct 30, 2005 11:53 AM CST reply actions

New kicker Suisham’s parents will be watching his debut from the stands. Good for him. Hopefully he works out for us at kicker, but I sure hope it doesn’t come down to a damn fieldgoal again. We should do better than that today.

With this game being a must-win, in some people’s eyes, I worry that we’re gonna play conservative again and hope the crads make their share of mistakes. This is a dangerous game plan, I think. We need to bring it. The cards surely will.

by rich on Oct 30, 2005 11:55 AM CST reply actions

Linus,

Dead on. That’s why I think Dallas will open with a nickel, or at least the secondary they’ve used that has the three corners, Henry, Newman and Glenn and the FS, with Williams playing a LB. Either that, or Williams sits back with the FS to offer deep cover for the three corners.

Dallas is crazy if it ever plays a down against 3 WR with its base secondary.

by Rafael Vela on Oct 30, 2005 11:55 AM CST reply actions

woohoo, its actually showing the game here

by rashdogg on Oct 30, 2005 11:58 AM CST reply actions

great………i get to see the Giants…..sigh….

by Outkast on Oct 30, 2005 11:59 AM CST reply actions

Raf
To support the sheme you describe above, I think this is why BP came out with the pep talk directed to the defensive line — BP wants to put pressure on the Cards straight up so that the scheme you described can be run BP is asking D line to get r done without reliance on heavy dose of blitz packages

by linus on Oct 30, 2005 12:00 PM CST reply actions

i cant decide who i want to lose more in that one

by rashdogg on Oct 30, 2005 12:01 PM CST reply actions

somehow I missed your reference to the 4-2-5 in your pre game. Thanks.

We’ve got some stud running backs,JJ,Barber,TT!!!!!

by sharkz on Oct 30, 2005 12:19 PM CST reply actions

Man, watching Al Johnson pull and kill some linebacker on the first Barber run was a beatiful thing.

Dallas was expecting the blitz. And the real cool part about the drive is that both long runs went right. All the plays went right. Behind Rivera and Petitti. Hope that continues.

by Rafael Vela on Oct 30, 2005 12:19 PM CST reply actions

Barber’s first career TD- We’ve got some guys who can run, no?

by rich on Oct 30, 2005 12:20 PM CST reply actions

mccown CAN throw the ball, though….

by rich on Oct 30, 2005 12:23 PM CST reply actions

Question:

If intentional grounding is called, does Ellis get credit for a sack?

by Rafael Vela on Oct 30, 2005 12:24 PM CST reply actions

Good field positionLet’s score! We have the momentum, let’s capitalize and put them in a hole!

by sharkz on Oct 30, 2005 12:24 PM CST reply actions

by sharkz on Oct 30, 2005 12:44 PM CST reply actions

CANTY: 1st round talent- 4th round steal.

THESE cards ain’t mess’n around- we shoulda gone for that TD over the field goal.

by rich on Oct 30, 2005 12:46 PM CST reply actions

That was definately offensive pass interference!

by sharkz on Oct 30, 2005 12:46 PM CST reply actions

that wasn’t pass interference

by Derrick on Oct 30, 2005 12:48 PM CST reply actions

why can we not just go out for once and beat the living hell out of the team we play especially a team like Arizona……………..so frustrating

by Gavin on Oct 30, 2005 12:48 PM CST reply actions

Here in Redskins land, you can bet the game isn’t televised. Thanks to the powers that be for streaming audio…but I hate what appears to be a coordinated effort to keep the ’boys off TV.

by ggra on Oct 30, 2005 12:51 PM CST reply actions

actually it is definatly a touchdown… It appears the refs are not seeing things again like the hold in the washington gaem during the waning minutes that allow them to get the long pass when we played the skins.

by S.D Kieley on Oct 30, 2005 12:51 PM CST reply actions

pitch out to Braber on 2nd and 17?? what?

here comes Payton’s alternate personality….

TOUCHDOWN KeyShawn….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by S.D Kieley on Oct 30, 2005 1:11 PM CST reply actions

Imagine when julius comes back. we will have one of the best rb combos. maybe barber not canty was the biggest steal of the draft

by L on Oct 30, 2005 1:11 PM CST reply actions

Great pass by Bledsoe to Key.

His pass to Glenn was ugly though. Terry had to come back for that one.

Hope Price gets more involved…

C’mon D!!!!

by rich on Oct 30, 2005 1:12 PM CST reply actions

I think COLEMAN’S days as a cowboy will end either the end of this year or sooner, inactive again today

by Derrick on Oct 30, 2005 1:15 PM CST reply actions

what do you do here guys? about two minutes left. do you go for points, or play it out, grind the clock.

we get the ball back at the half.

I say go for it.

by rich on Oct 30, 2005 1:16 PM CST reply actions

yup, the cowboys sure have a chance to put the cardinals away right here and the first series in the second half with the ball first. Get aggressive…

by Derrick on Oct 30, 2005 1:19 PM CST reply actions

Barber racking up the yards! This time behind Petitti!

by sharkz on Oct 30, 2005 1:20 PM CST reply actions

Yep Derrick,I agree…..I think Coleman is done, last year on the Cowboys

by sharkz on Oct 30, 2005 1:21 PM CST reply actions

worst facemask i’ve seen.

by rich on Oct 30, 2005 1:21 PM CST reply actions

Thats what I watched when he played at Minnesota, very solid back and another steal in the forth round, like Canty.

by Derrick on Oct 30, 2005 1:22 PM CST reply actions

Barber TD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by sharkz on Oct 30, 2005 1:22 PM CST reply actions

BARBER IS OUR BACK!!!!!

by Derrick on Oct 30, 2005 1:23 PM CST reply actions

Bet JJ gets well soon after watching this!

by sharkz on Oct 30, 2005 1:23 PM CST reply actions

Hey guys, just got here. Is Barber looking like a stud, or is it just stats?

by bluecheese on Oct 30, 2005 1:23 PM CST reply actions

he’s looking like a stud, big time

by Derrick on Oct 30, 2005 1:24 PM CST reply actions

BArber HITS the hole. NO dancy bullcrap. He drives toward the endzone with speed- he flew toward it on that one. he’s covering up the ball as he hits the hole now.

Wow……

wow.

by rich on Oct 30, 2005 1:25 PM CST reply actions

THAT WAS A DOOMSDAY HIT!!!

by rich on Oct 30, 2005 1:26 PM CST reply actions

McCowen taking a beating!

by sharkz on Oct 30, 2005 1:27 PM CST reply actions

24 point first half for the cowboys!

by sharkz on Oct 30, 2005 1:29 PM CST reply actions

Backing up here-

Julius is a darn good RB. AN d let’s not knock Thompson- he’s really good too.

I think the key is that we’ve left Barber IN there- They’ve let him play whole half, for a change.

We’ve got 3 – count ‘em!- three damn good RB’s. Great to ba a cowboy.

I’m LOVE’N this.

by rich on Oct 30, 2005 1:30 PM CST reply actions

You notice it’s always quieter when the Cowboys are winning?
I guess people feel less need to vent.

by Rafael Vela on Oct 30, 2005 1:30 PM CST reply actions

Roy covered my Grandmother and the receiver on that last play.

by S.D Kieley on Oct 30, 2005 1:31 PM CST reply actions

dont you think we should get rid of thomas then?

by ryan on Oct 30, 2005 1:31 PM CST reply actions

Something we haven’t had in a long time…DEPTH!

by sharkz on Oct 30, 2005 1:31 PM CST reply actions

I dont think that we’ll cut Thomas until after the season, not alot of running backs on the team with experience, and we all know bill likes experience over youth

by Derrick on Oct 30, 2005 1:33 PM CST reply actions

Thats a word we haven’t heard aroung here in a whie, DEPTH

by Derrick on Oct 30, 2005 1:33 PM CST reply actions

theres no doubt that julius could run through those huge holes. he was doing good against the eagles before he left.

by rashdogg on Oct 30, 2005 1:33 PM CST reply actions

Let’s actually do it 30 minutes and then let’s rest up and beat the shit out of the eagles and shoiw the nation who the new team to be in the NFC East is

by Gavin on Oct 30, 2005 1:34 PM CST reply actions

Ryan,

The trading dealine is past. Since you can’t get anything for
Thomas, why dump him? Injuries are unpredictable.

BTW, 2nd half thread is up.

by Rafael Vela on Oct 30, 2005 1:34 PM CST reply actions

I like JJ and all but he goes down quicker than Monica did on Clinton….if he can just stay healthy id feel a lot better…..but I reallllllly like Barber and its good to see him getting his time

by Outkast on Oct 30, 2005 1:35 PM CST reply actions

Defense kicking ass.

Running game is ON.

Passing the ball well.

Nobody’s yelling at each other on the sideline.

Parcells ain’t beating his assistants.

Witten’s on. Bledsoe’s on. Key and Terry. ROY is making hits. MAde a field goal. Barber has over 80 yards rushing in the first half- amazing.

AHHH. Refreshing. isn’t it? Will this be a game where we get to just chill and watch ‘em make plays during the 4th, no stress? It’s been a while.

MAybe we’ll se Romo later?

by rich on Oct 30, 2005 1:35 PM CST reply actions

Is it just me or are the long snaps consistently high and on Romo’s shoulder pad? He’s is doing a great job just maintaining control and getting it down…

by StarStruck on Oct 30, 2005 1:37 PM CST reply actions

redskins are losing and cowboys are winning

does life get any better?

by Koolaid on Oct 30, 2005 1:42 PM CST reply actions

yup, sure can, if the eagles lose too

by Derrick on Oct 30, 2005 1:43 PM CST reply actions

and then there’s that snap problem…

by StarStruck on Oct 30, 2005 1:49 PM CST reply actions

by S.D Kieley on Oct 30, 2005 1:49 PM CST reply actions

who’s fault was the fumble?

by bobbyc39 on Oct 30, 2005 1:49 PM CST reply actions

thats becoming rediculious, I’ve never seen that many fumble snap in a season ever..

by Derrick on Oct 30, 2005 1:54 PM CST reply actions

Man, cowboy opponents NEVER miss a FG attempt…

by Dave on Oct 30, 2005 1:56 PM CST reply actions

Perhaps the offense is missing the excitement of a go ahead win in the final 2 minutes and wanted to let the Cards back in the game.

by S.D Kieley on Oct 30, 2005 1:58 PM CST reply actions
