You Like Us, You Really Really Like Us
Or maybe the Eagles game got you all jacked up.
108,000 hits yesterday. 83,000 of them between midnight and
3 am Eastern time.
It's the new layout, right?

Winning makes you want to soak up every ounce of material. Basking in a glow, you just want to shout it out, so the blog helps. And for that, I think we’re all grateful.
And yes Jeff, you did a great job on the layout!

The only thing I would change is the size of the banner – it’s slow-loading, even on a T1 line at my place of work…

noticably absent from the 108,000 hits………Eagles Fans!
Wonder Why? LOL! Maybe the whole town is wearing Michael Irvin jerseys this week!
I am still optimistic about the season and all but I think the Cowboy nation just felt like we won a Super Bowl. Sweeping the Eagles is usually a first step in our dominating the division! Short of another Super Bowl victory nothing is going to top that Game Monday. It was SOOOO GOOOD!!!! Roy’s Revenge! Brother Don looking down with a wind at the end! The Sound of Silence at the Link! TO and McNabb still getting more media attention than our NFC EAST Leading Cowboys is fine too……just watch us sneak into the playoffs and surprise some folks.
I am certain the nice new scheme at the blog did not hurt either, congrats guys ya’ll deserve it. I am sure the site will do well as the Boys return to the Super Bowl victory podium over the next few years!

media bias?
after the surprise Washington loss…..the mediots kept featuring those two plays over and over again. The pics from that game were on fox and espn sports pages. Articles were written and featured.
Looking at those same sites today you wonder if there was even a Monday nigth game. Other than a few comments about McNabb being injured and TO……..nobody is saying……..HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS!!! Thank goodness we do have DJ, Troy, Jimmy, Emmit, Michael and Darren in the boothes of these networks to defend the boys imagine if we did not.
Nonetheless Rafael’s analysis and breakdown of the draft and Parcells in the offseason is some of the best coverage of the boys there is. Have the networks ever offered you work Raf? Well don’t go…….I am surprised a team doesn’t hire you to study film…….well at any rate the fans deserver the best and it sure looks like you guys are delivering it. Keep it up.

The networks couldn’t pay Rafael enough to sacrifice his principles. Which is why this blog kicks such serious ass! There loss is our gain. THAT’S RIGHT!

Raf,
You and Raul have developed quite a following. I know I’ve become a fan. Keep up the good work.

Hey Cowboy Fans,
Anyone have any info on Detroit !
I know Harrington started last week & Roy Williams both had good games.
Hope this is not that trap game with Denver only 4 Days later.
If anyone has some good info on Detroit cough it up . I am not too familiar with them!!!

When I saw the links appear at the bottom of the blog in response to my suggestion, I was amazed at how responsive you guys were. Frankly, I didn’t expect it so soon if at all.
From your hits, it would certainly appear that more folks have found us here. It would be interesting to see how many are frequent “visitors” vs. the “regulars”. I’m sure that many who view do not always “spike” a “point”.
If anyone needs a comparison of blogs, just click on the sportsblog link and check out the other ones for NFL teams. They really suck BIG TIME by comparison…hard to navigate, confusing to find the threads (few of which are really meaningful), etc. Now, don’t even waste your time to find anything near the analysis that Raf gives us because it just ain’t there. Jon’s post says it all regarding your great effort in making this blog the best out there … bar none.

Boy this seems like a major suck up session, but I’d have to agree that Rafael should look into studying film for teams…very good with small details.
I’d also like to second the notion about the media. The only talk is eagles eagles eagles…they suck so bad…remember when dallas sucked, the media didn’t act near as shocked. What’s that all about?

Hey Raf, Raul and Star,
The new site is sweet. I really like the football additions like move the chains or drop back and spike it. Nice touch!
My only critic would be the font and color at the top of the articles…..it sort of blends in it may just be my screens and res i run high res 21 inch lcds so that might be it. But if it could stand out some more it would be better.

Jesse:
According to your request:
- Joey Harrington’s biggest problem is consistency, which was his biggest asset in College, I guess that he has problems with the velocity of the game. His best percentage of completions/attempts throughout his career comes from this year (56.3%), number that isn’t breathtaking.
- In the other hand, Jeff Garcia isn’t as mobile as the Jeff Garcia of old, you could say that he isn’t fully recovered from his broken fibula, but he’s much of an inmobile target in the backfield and that takes some of his game.
- The trio that Williams, Williams and Rogers form is certainly scary, they’re 6-2, 6-4 and 6-3 but they aren’t as productive, counting for just 609 yards (Terry Glenn by himslef is 100 yards ahead of them combined). Detroit best receiving target is Marcus Pollard, yes the guy that came out of Indianapolis for this season.
- Kevin Jones isn’t having a thrilling season he has similar numbers to those of Julius while starting in 4 more games (they’re 143att-462yards and 120att-423yards). More than one could say that Shawn Bryson could be a scary change of pace back taking into account his average per carry (5.5) but he broke for a 77 yard gain versus lowly and injured Baltimore which inflates his average alot (without that carry he would have an average of 3.4).
- Now, as a Defense they’re above average, ranking in the top 15 in pass and rush, it’s a Defense that bends but doesn’t breaks. Players that require mention: Dre Bly and his team leading 4 Int’s, Kalimba Edwards and his 6 sacks, Shaun Rogers and Dan Wilkinson form a pretty good tandem in the middle of the Defense. But Dre Bly and Shaun Rogers are questionable for Sunday, leaving Detroit with the rookie Shaun Cody in Rogers place and the speedster McQuarters in Bly’s.

There is nothing better than getting some quality information from halfway across the world. If not for you Raf, I would be languishing with articles & opinions from espn & nfl.com. Thank goodness I found this site. Keep up the excellent work, it is much appreciated by at least 1 person in Australia!
Now if we can just win the next couple of games and get set for a push towards the playoffs…

Chandus,
Thanks for the info !
Sounds like a Dallas A game at home should be able to do the job, as long as their not looking ahead at Denver.
After watching every game this year I am going to assume for now that the Philly game was an aboration.
Dallas has been solid all year long so as long as they stay focued on Detroit ( nothing taken for granted)
we should be 7-3 when the Broncos come here on thursday.

Lions also have a good return game featuring Drummond. I would rather see Garcia start, because Harrington always looked to me like a good athlete(maybe the way he can do back flips). Apparently Harrington will start. Two young QBs Sunday looked good after re-starts off of the bench. Harrington looked good and Losman looked like Namath. I hope Dre Bly and Shaun Rogers sit this one out.

Site looks great!!
Detroits Oline is pathetic, we should pad our 25 sacks to 30. Run JJ run, he needs around 18 touches…

from DallasNews.com
Julius the starter: Parcells said that Julius Jones would probably reclaim his starting job against Detroit on Sunday.
Rookie Marion Barber started in front of Jones against the Eagles and didnâ€â"¢t come out until early in the second quarter. Asked why he went with Barber late in the game, Parcells said he thought he would be better than Jones at running inside.

Rafael,
On your last article you might have just combined three of my favourite things, Dallas Cowboys, Leonard Cohen and good reading! I never would have thought it possible.
Keep up the good work on this site, my girlfriend and i are in Brisbane, Australia and without you would have no good analysis at all, so thanks.

Well, here are my 2 cents: I like it, I really do.
I peruse other teams blogs (I’m sure we all do) and most of the time it takes me a good 5 minutes or so to get to the content I’m looking for. Not so with theBoys… very easy to navigate. And now its all tricked out with the new look…. sweet.

I went to bed at halftime the other night—made the mistake of staying up for the Boys/Redskins on MNF-and got the good news the next AM from Mike & Mike. That Marine’s post on the last board was almost like being there. I was stationed in Philthy also back in the 80s. No team I’d rather beat.

Your analysis and the discussion that it generates have always been my favorite part of the blog, but I could get used to the new digs. Looks real good. Just the musings of a old cowboy fan.
