Brunell shaken up in the Skins game – Pat. Ramsey in playin’ right now – not sure if brunell’s out for the game or not

by Loozeeana_Cowboy on Dec 24, 2005 2:10 PM CST reply actions

Wash leads 21-17. Giants had their fieldgoal try Blocked.
Ramsey in the game for Wash, good news for the Boys

by Derrick on Dec 24, 2005 2:10 PM CST reply actions

bluecheese – not sure – but it was on the left side – gotta be thinkin’ big larry allen

by Loozeeana_Cowboy on Dec 24, 2005 2:11 PM CST reply actions

A tip of the hat to Sean Payton for overcoming 20 yds of assclown penalties just to get the first down and set up the run.

That was pure bush league crap by Petitti, raking his hand across the CBs eyes right in front of the ref.

by Rafael Vela on Dec 24, 2005 2:11 PM CST reply actions

watch our formidable deffense just screw it up….Delhomme had about three days to decide where to go

by Loozeeana_Cowboy on Dec 24, 2005 2:16 PM CST reply actions

Anything good for the cowboys Aikman will be against…….

by sharkz on Dec 24, 2005 2:16 PM CST reply actions

Wash just scored again, not good news, 28-17

by Derrick on Dec 24, 2005 2:17 PM CST reply actions

hey pettiti..grab the ball from Bledsoe’s hands and just run into our own red zone….

by ManTab on Dec 24, 2005 2:17 PM CST reply actions

Man, I have been waiting for Ware to do this. I have been cringing everytime Merriman gets his props, because I wonder if we did the right thing. Nice to see him kicking kitty tail. Who does he keep beating for those sacks?

by Bluecheese on Dec 24, 2005 2:17 PM CST reply actions

Actually, Smith not only bumped the sideline judge, but obviously said something to him to cause the flag. Smith them bumped the ref and, if my lip-reading is up to par, dropped an F-bomb on him.

That’ll do it…

by Raul on Dec 24, 2005 2:18 PM CST reply actions

yeah smith was kicked out – he picked up the carolina fumble and actually almost got the 1st down – t-new got him 1 yard short – smith got up pissed off and put his hands on the ref – got in his face and said something – ref threw the flag real quick after that – i think it had something to do with whatever came out of smith’s mouth

by Loozeeana_Cowboy on Dec 24, 2005 2:18 PM CST reply actions

three FF for Ware and three sacks, five tackles and two asssists

by Derrick on Dec 24, 2005 2:18 PM CST reply actions

by Derrick on Dec 24, 2005 2:26 PM CST reply actions

Nice block Petite

by Mo Rice on Dec 24, 2005 2:27 PM CST reply actions

You know, there are 21 Cowboys busting their asses out there right now and Rob Petitti has his thumb up his massive ass.

I’ve thrown in the towel on him. They need another RT.

by Rafael Vela on Dec 24, 2005 2:27 PM CST reply actions

I officially hate Rob Pettiti…

by ManTab on Dec 24, 2005 2:28 PM CST reply actions

COME ON NY

by lou c on Dec 24, 2005 2:28 PM CST reply actions

that was funny raf

by linus on Dec 24, 2005 2:28 PM CST reply actions

Petitti needs another year in the weight room and really has to work on his foot work

by Derrick on Dec 24, 2005 2:28 PM CST reply actions

Pettiti is over matched and needs plenty of help. Peppers is a great player up against a rookie. The Cowboys need to keep running.

by mlf on Dec 24, 2005 2:29 PM CST reply actions

how nice to have this game hinge on dallas defense getting it done

by linus on Dec 24, 2005 2:29 PM CST reply actions

I wish it were, Linus.

Let’s see, he gives up two sacks today, has a horrible personal foul penalty that almost short circuits the Julius Jones’ TD run and then is offsides on a 3rd and 1 QB sneak that worked.

He might as well put on a Panthers jersey.

by Rafael Vela on Dec 24, 2005 2:30 PM CST reply actions

here we go again, it all comes down to the last two minutes of the game, what else is new.
GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!

by Derrick on Dec 24, 2005 2:30 PM CST reply actions

Even if we happen to win this, is there really any chance for post-season play?

by Mo Rice on Dec 24, 2005 2:30 PM CST reply actions

only if the Giants win

by Derrick on Dec 24, 2005 2:32 PM CST reply actions

raf i get it this is what the game is all about weakness vs strength

by linus on Dec 24, 2005 2:32 PM CST reply actions

We need Giants and Atlanta to win to be safe.

by lou c on Dec 24, 2005 2:33 PM CST reply actions

HEY GENTLEMEN WHO THOUGHT WE WOULD BE AHEAD IN FOURTH QUARTER

by linus on Dec 24, 2005 2:34 PM CST reply actions

If we win 10 games and some teams loose, we make it to the playoffs

by ManTab on Dec 24, 2005 2:34 PM CST reply actions

who isnt limping for dallas?

by linus on Dec 24, 2005 2:34 PM CST reply actions

no me, but its not who leads going into the fourth quarter but who leads at the end of it.

by Derrick on Dec 24, 2005 2:35 PM CST reply actions

Raf, 20…Aaron Glenn has sucked pretty bad today too…

by ManTab on Dec 24, 2005 2:36 PM CST reply actions

derrick you are a glass half empty guy quit putting negative spin on everything have FAITH

by linus on Dec 24, 2005 2:36 PM CST reply actions

Raf, 20…Aaron Glenn has sucked pretty bad today too…

by ManTab on Dec 24, 2005 2:37 PM CST reply actions

yeah, they lost their chance to be in the playoffs the last two weeks.

JJ looks finally healthy.. too bad he gets hurt so easy..

Tucker and Pettiti suck and are the reason why Dallas isn’t going into the playoffs.. They are backups at best, hence why they are in there in the first place.

by MikeA on Dec 24, 2005 2:38 PM CST reply actions

We need a 7 minute drive for a TD

by jokerz on Dec 24, 2005 2:40 PM CST reply actions

no, I’m just realistic, I like what we’ve done this last offseason, only wish bill cleaned house the first year he was here, cant win in this league with the highest paid offensive line in football and it performs like one of the worst in the league.

by Derrick on Dec 24, 2005 2:41 PM CST reply actions

Just got back in fellas,

Welcome Back JJ!!

Has Ware been as good as you guys have written!!?!?

Season is over. Giants cant stop the skins.

by F.J on Dec 24, 2005 2:43 PM CST reply actions

Good news for next week. SF has run for over 220 yards against the Rams. Love to see JJ repeat this performance.

I really want SF to win that one and Houston to lose. I don’t want to see Reggie Bush in SF (I still hate, and will always hate the 9ers.)

by Bluecheese on Dec 24, 2005 2:43 PM CST reply actions

the D needs to step it up and hold em even though it sucks we leave them out there all day from all these drive killing penalties

by jokerz on Dec 24, 2005 2:44 PM CST reply actions

wash scores 35-20 way to go Eli and Tiki….idiots

defense SAVE US!!!!!!!!!!!!

by linus on Dec 24, 2005 2:46 PM CST reply actions

by jokerz on Dec 24, 2005 2:46 PM CST reply actions

nice tackle Ware – ran that guy down

by Loozeeana_Cowboy on Dec 24, 2005 2:46 PM CST reply actions

foster was a pinball on that run

by jokerz on Dec 24, 2005 2:48 PM CST reply actions

Linus,I’m not a Homer, and not negative, seeing things that are glaring on this team, not interested in getting to the playoffs and getting bounce in the first round, thats for folks who route for the Lions, not the Cowboys, Cowboy fans should be happy with championships, not just getting to playoffs

by Derrick on Dec 24, 2005 2:48 PM CST reply actions

You stand corrected. Realistic means reality. You see the word reality in the word realistic? What you are saying is fairyland.

The Offensive line the 2nd half of this season has sucked royaly. If you don’t see that than you really are in la la land.

by Emmitt>Barry on Dec 24, 2005 3:19 PM CST reply actions

BlueCheese:

They were revieweing whether Peppers tipped the ball, as he was saying. If they had seen a tip, then there is no roughing, just like a tipped pass allows a defender to level the receiver without getting a pass interference penalty. There was no conclusive evidence of a tip, so the penalty stood.

I really don’t care about the playoffs, because at this point, we aren’t a playoff team, but I really, REALLY want to win out. Would be great to end on a high note, get a mid-late teens draft pick (remember what BP says: value), come into next year with some momentum.

Give some guys a chance to get some conditioning (Pettiti), get some guys back (Flo), a full season and offseason experience with our 3-4 d, and I think we’ll be fine.

Merry Christmas!

Falcons just punted to Tampa Bay – so just to be sure – we want the Bucs to WIN right? that puts Atlanta out of any chance for a wildcard right?

We need Tampa to win, they have the tiebreaker for the division with Carolina. Since we beat Carolina today, we have the tiebreaker over them. Falcons lose, their out. It would be nice to see Minnesota lose this week also. So, Tampa wins the division, and we beat out Carolina for a wildcard.

by Mo Rice on Dec 24, 2005 3:33 PM CST reply actions

Not so fast, Linus,

Does Tampa have the tie breaker over Dallas if they both go to 9-6? Dallas has an edge over the Falcons on better conference record. I’m researching it right now, but Dallas MAY and I stress may, leapfrog the Bucs with a Falcons win.

by Rafael Vela on Dec 24, 2005 3:33 PM CST reply actions

idk you guys, falcons are 8-6, bucs are 9-5, so if the redskins don’t lose next week. wouldn’t we want the bucs to lose, and lose again next week

by Derrick on Dec 24, 2005 3:38 PM CST reply actions

Cundiff stunk it up on that first miss but the one with the roughing call was on th o-line. Peppers shucked the blocker and and was 3 yrds deep in the backfield when the ball was kicked.

You all do not under stand the Cowboys played piss poor football all year execpt for 3 games. They do not diserve the playoffs.

They need to get their-Oline in order then we might be a contendor.

by MizzouCowboy on Dec 24, 2005 3:53 PM CST reply actions

Linus,

How did Tampa’s win help Dallas? Dallas already had a tie breaker on Atlanta because of better conference record. Tampa’s win makes it harder for Dallas to catch them. I was trying to find common opponents but now its moot. Had the Falcons won Dallas would have tied them in conference record and perhaps passed them in the tie-breaker formula.

Now Atlanta is eliminated. What’s their incentive to help us next week by beating Carolina now?

by Rafael Vela on Dec 24, 2005 3:54 PM CST reply actions

that’s it ya’ll…both are loses to washington have screwed us this year, everyone was telling me to shut up about the monday night, but i was right…we are screwed, my life is over again

Wouldn’t it be better to beat the Rams, finish 10-6 (what an improvement over last year!) and finish on a positive note going into another great draft and free agent session?

6. Redskins – 9-6
7. Vikings – 8-6
8. Cowboys – 9-6
9. Falcons – 8-7

As you can see the falcons are out but from what i’m reading, they eliminate the worst team from each conference compared to the other tied with it for the wild card spot, so idk you guys, i guess all we can say is, GO EAGLES!!!

minnesotta losing and
carolina washington or carolina losing
thats not bad odds

by linus on Dec 24, 2005 3:57 PM CST reply actions

As I see it, we’re dependent on bad teams for a chance at the playoffs. Either the Eagles have to beat the Redskins or the Falcons, probably without Michael Vick, have to beat Carolina. At least the game is in Atlanta.

10-6 and missing the playoffs won’t be the end of the world. It’s a big turnaround from last year. And judging from current standings, ekeing into the postseason would get us a return trip to either New York or Washington. I don’t think that would be a good afternoon.

Derrick
Just to let you know I am HUGE Cowboys fan, but they need to be winning games in the first half not the last 30 seconds.

Someone lease explain to me why the Coboys deense is not more aggresive?

I know they have been bet a few times when they blitz, but more often than not it seems to be much more effective.

Three or More Clubs
NOTE: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.

1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
5. Strength of victory.
6. Strength of schedule.
7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
9. Best net points in conference games.
10. Best net points in all games.
11. Best net touchdowns in all games.
12. Coin toss.

see, the first step eliminates us RIGHT AWAY, before we even get to compare to the other teams, REDSKINS MUST…. MUST…. MUST LOSE

Raf, and the rest, here is the tiebreaker formula for Wildcard teams.
TO BREAK A TIE FOR THE WILD-CARD TEAM
If it is necessary to break ties to determine the two Wild-Card clubs from each conference, the following steps will be taken.

1. If the tied clubs are from the same division, apply division tie breaker.
2. If the tied clubs are from different divisions, apply the following steps.

Two Clubs:
1. Head-to-head, if applicable.
2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
4. Strength of victory.
5. Strength of schedule.
6. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
7. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best net points in conference games.
9. Best net points in all games.
10. Best net touchdowns in all games.
11. Coin toss.

wait a minute wait a minute, i think there may be a way to have BOTH washinton and dallas in the playoffs, if the panthers lose, we win, and the vikings lose once!! WE WOULD BE THE ONLY TEAMS AT 10-6 that aren’t already in the playoffs!

by mrwnt10 on Dec 24, 2005 4:06 PM CST reply actions

by mrwnt10 on Dec 24, 2005 4:09 PM CST reply actions

Lots of folks here thought that the Monday night Debacle against Washington wasn’t a big deal that early in the season, well, I bet you wish you had that game back, EVERY DIVISIONAL GAME IS BIG, that game could cost us the playoffs.I said that that loss will come back to haunt us

by Derrick on Dec 24, 2005 4:09 PM CST reply actions

o please philly, this is your chance to pay us back for NEARLY PARALYZING OUR GREATEST RECEIVER EVER

by mrwnt10 on Dec 24, 2005 4:10 PM CST reply actions

no way, skins are hot…I hate to say that but it’s the truth…I’m really scared if our playoff hopes hinge on a washington lose.

by emrdog on Dec 24, 2005 4:11 PM CST reply actions

If we and Carolina are 10-6, we win the tie break (head to head)

by Bluecheese on Dec 24, 2005 4:11 PM CST reply actions

derrick i said the same thing and everyone told me to get lost…so I feel vindicated but upset that we may miss the playoffs.

by emrdog on Dec 24, 2005 4:12 PM CST reply actions

alright, i’m seriously getting a headache, so i’m going, but everybody, wish, pray, threaten the eagles, until they win, do something, geez, NOW i wish the eagles weren’t so horrible

sounds like if minnesota wins out they are in

by linus on Dec 24, 2005 4:14 PM CST reply actions

brunell has a hurt knee which spells ramsey could mean eagles victory

by drunk1 on Dec 24, 2005 4:14 PM CST reply actions

so does washington absolutely have to lose for dallas to get in???

by emrdog on Dec 24, 2005 4:15 PM CST reply actions

emrdog,
Yup, and everyone was ripping me because Roy cost us that game and it looks more and more now, that loss cost os the playoffs too.

by Derrick on Dec 24, 2005 4:16 PM CST reply actions

If Wash loses, and Minnesota loses one of their last two, and we win, we’re in with Carolina and Tampa Bay.

by bushpilot on Dec 24, 2005 4:16 PM CST reply actions

i thought minnesota had to lose one for dallas to get in???

by emrdog on Dec 24, 2005 4:17 PM CST reply actions

but what if carolina loses, doesn’t that give us the head to head tie breaker over them??

by emrdog on Dec 24, 2005 4:17 PM CST reply actions

I think our best chance is for Atl to beat Carolina. Washington will win against Philly and Minnesotta will loose both remaining games…

by ManTab on Dec 24, 2005 4:19 PM CST reply actions

car loses we get in

by drunk1 on Dec 24, 2005 4:21 PM CST reply actions

that sounds about right mantab…washington is in, TB with a win and a Carolina loss has moved in to clinch the south…so that means Carolina is on the block against Atl…vikings are over achieving…they will lose.
