Ex-Cowboy Steele works out

Looking to replace Kevin Burnett if they advance to the playoffs, the Cowboys worked out ex-Cowboy LB Markus Steele. From the Cowboys website:

... the Cowboys on Friday worked out former fourth-round pick Markus Steele, who spent three years with the club from 2001-03. Steele recorded 86 tackles in 42 games with the Cowboys, playing mostly strong-side linebacker. He was released by the club in August 2004.

"I think it (the workout) went good," said Steele, who lives in nearby Colleyville. "But it's not always my decision. Hopefully if the coaches feel that it's good, hopefully we can work something out."

From the same article we learn Dan Campbell won an award that was voted on by his teammates. Campbell is one of those guys you need on a team; tough as nails, good leader in the clubhouse, great work ethic on the field.

Dan Campbell's teammates voted him as the Cowboys' offensive captain before the season. Now they've selected him to receive the 2005 Ed Block Courage Award, given to a player who bests displays courage and sportsmanship. Campbell has played in all 15 games this year after suffering a season-ending foot injury in 2004. He also returned from an emergency appendectomy in just nine days at the beginning of training camp.

Campbell will receive the award at the 28th Annual Ed Block Courage Awards Banquet next spring in Baltimore, Md. "It's an honor because once again it's something that your teammates vote on, and I'm flattered by that," Campbell said. "I voted for Terry (Glenn). I think Terry, what he had to go through was just as bad as I did or anybody else."

Anybody know how to play taps

It all comes to an end tomorrow for the cowboys, The Cowboys will probably win the game easily but it wont matter as I think that Carolina and Washington will win both of their games and I dont want to hang around one more week to see the Cowboys get bounced the next week, so its time to get ready for some offseason moves and see what the draft will hold to fill the rest of the holes on this team and get ready to compete for a superbowl next year.
