I’m not sure but wouldn’t Woodson have to clear waivers first to qualify coming back to Dallas and I think he had nerve damage to his leg after surgery to his back didn’t he, I know from first hand knowledge, that doesn’t get better very often on its own

I really felt bad for woodson when he retired. to me it seemed he had at least a couple of good years left in him. What a player. Played all out all the time.

You are correct about Woodson having to clear waivers. However, the DMN is reporting that the Cowboys released him from the reserve/retired list, and he has already cleared waivers.

Of course, not only does Woodson have to pass a physical, but the Cowboys have to make the playoffs for any of this to have any meaning.

What exactly would be the distraction?? By the time the Cowboys take the field,which is a sunday night game, the results from the games that actually mean anything to the cowboys will be in and either we have a chance to get into the playoff with a win because of a Philly or Atlanta win, or we dont, no distraction there. If we have no chance to get into the playoffs because Wash and Car both won, I could care less if the cowboys win this game, if we lose, we have a higher draft pick, thats good for me, because we wont see any of these second string players we have on the roster to see if they’re in the plans for the future, like Romo.

Oh Derrick my blogging brother One prepares for a game through the week — not just a few hours before kick off. If the players are distracted mentally during practice, that effects their game play. Its not an on/off switch

The Carolina game: Whole Carolina team beein puking sick this week. Linebacker Dan Morgan injured his left shoulder in the Dallas game and probably won’t play. He was instrumental in shutting down Atlanta last time. Need Atlanta to get ahead early via Vick running/passing. Pressure ol Jake enough to keep his passing off like it was in the Dallas game.

Do you think the Cowboys will play as hard tonight if they have no chance to get into the playoffs,I think the switch will be turned off if they dont, infact they’ll be mentally one the sidelines making plans for vacationing the next day.
Whether the cowboys make the playoffs or not makes no nevermind to me, because they still have a few holes to fill on the O-line, reciever,Safety and linebacker position, to compete for a superbowl but I really like the pieces Bill has assembled on this team, only wished he took this approach the first year he got here, not year three.You can have the greatest game plan and the team mentally prepared all you want, but if you dont have the players with the talent to execute, it doesn’t matter.

I can see that there could be a distraction today, as some of the players might be focusing on what other teams are doing, rather than getting mentally prepared for their opponent. Some will be able to concentrate on their usual pre-game routine. Others won’t.

There are two other concerns I have for this game. One, if the Cowboys’ chances are still alive at game time, they might be so pumped that they commit silly errors — penalties, mental mistakes, turnovers. Two, if they have been eliminated, they might be too flat.

But then, I’m a born worrier.

 just Making the playoffs is fine for teams like Houston or detroit, they consider that a successful season, Cowboy fans, real cowboy fans want to compete for Superbowls, not just playoffs. If you really watched this team, you can see it has still too many holes to compete for a superbowl, if you just want to see the cowboys to get into the playoffs only to get bounced in the first round, which they would anyway, well I would put you into the Detroit/houston Catagory and get those pompoms out, stand up and cheer like hell. If we have no chance to get into the playoff by game time, I want to see Romo and the other backup players in there to see if they can help this team next year, a year, if we have another good offseason and draft, will compete for championships that real cowboy fans want, and not just playoffs that you aspire too. Oh, I know what you’re going to say, YOU CANT WIN A SUPERBOWL WITHOUT GETTING INTO THE PLAYOFFS, this team has been playing playoff games for the last four weeks, infact you can say that fron week one as all the games are that important.Everyone said after the first washington game, that game wasn’t that big early in the season, well, I guess those who thought that wished they had won that game now.We cant win in the playoffs period with this O-LINE. Mentally prepared before the game, what while playing cards, listening to music, chatting on cellphones, joking around, thats what goes on before a game. I’ve seen that many time while players were supposingly getting ready to play a so called big game.

Anything can happen once you get into the dance. A fumbled ball, a tipped pass, a key injury. None of these teams in the NFC are unbeatable, hell, we should have beat Seattle, Chicago’s offense is anemic, we beat the Giants, and Washington’s quarterback is banged up.

Dallas has won every game this year where they have done two things…….RUN THE BALL and STOP THE RUN. If they do that for 5 games they can beat anybody including Petyon or Brady. They are still a few players away and are not as fearsome on the road…..but Carolina was pretty loud for the Panthers and we played well. We can take the show on the road.

Seattle is beatable as are NYG, DC, and Chi. Of all of em Chicago scares me the most playing in the windy city against that D.
