Let’s have a good old fashioned ass whuppin’ on the Skins today, as well as saying bye-bye to Brady and Belechik.
I don’t like the Broncos, but I’m sick of the so-called invincibility of the Pats. They really aren’t playing as well as the last several years.
by bushpilot on Jan 14, 2006 2:41 PM CST reply actions
After watching a quarter, I submit to you that Gregg Williams is ALREADY the head coach of the Washington Redskins. His unit performs. Joe Gibbs’ doesn’t.
by Rafael Vela on Jan 14, 2006 4:20 PM CST reply actions
I agree with you Raf, his defensive schemes have been awesome the last half of the season. His defense has shut down everyone that they have played lately.
Hell, his defense single handedly one last weeks game, and is the only thing keeping them in this game.
It will be interesting to see how the Seahawks handle Alexander being out. Oops—there’s a TD from Hasselback.
by bushpilot on Jan 14, 2006 4:42 PM CST reply actions
Gibbs hasn’t had to or wanted to open it up for the past three games. Let’s see how he responds now. Throw more, or continue to lean on the defense?
by Rafael Vela on Jan 14, 2006 4:43 PM CST reply actions
It’s quite obvious that they will rely on the defense once again. The Redskins only have about 80 yards of offense so far.
If Seattle gets in here, Gibbs will have to open it up, he won’t have a choice.
This Redskins offense has been almost nonexistent the last three games. If not for the 6 turnovers the Eagles committed, they might not have one that game. The defense is what is winning now for the Skins, but if they get behind 14-3 here, I don’t see them coming back, based on their recent performances.
by bushpilot on Jan 14, 2006 5:25 PM CST reply actions
Raf, there we go, let’s see what the “great” Gibbs does now.
by bushpilot on Jan 14, 2006 5:26 PM CST reply actions
You’re like the Maytag repairman, bushpilot. But yes, how about that John Hall!
by Rafael Vela on Jan 14, 2006 6:29 PM CST reply actions
Dont look now but the seahawks turned it over three times and lost alexander early and still moved the ball quite well on the williams’s lead skins D. Well over 300 yards on the day. take away the turnovers and this might have been a shutout/blowout.
We’ll see what the talk is this week after a loooooong flight home for the skins. i hope they rest up this off season thinking they’re better than they really are. Moss, cooley, and portis wont sneak up on anyone next year.
by jarhead on Jan 14, 2006 6:51 PM CST reply actions
Theyve also got a first round picked QB cooling his jets on the bench and brunell is only getting older.
by jarhead on Jan 14, 2006 6:53 PM CST reply actions
IF Alexander is done for the playoffs, then Seattle is too.
by burmafrd on Jan 14, 2006 6:53 PM CST reply actions
Alexander just had a concussion. Aikman won a game with one of those once.
The bear’s D is better, but the seahawks are going to be very hard to beat at home.
My second pick of the day, Pats.
by jarhead on Jan 14, 2006 6:56 PM CST reply actions
Maytag repairman huh Raf? Good one.
I like the Bronco’s in this 2nd game, the Pats run is over for this year.
It will be interesting how Alexander comes back from the concussion next week, but he seemed to be somewhat about his senses on the sideline at the end of the game.
by bushpilot on Jan 14, 2006 7:05 PM CST reply actions
GREAT JOB TO THE SEAHAWKS!!!ITS SO GREAT TO SEE GLIBB CRYING LIKE THE BABY HE ALWAYS WAS.THE TEAM WAS OVERRATED AND TODAY PROVED THAT POINT.THIS SHOULD MAKE EVERYONE IN COWBOY NATION VERY HAPPY AND SINCE I LIVE IN THE DC AREA THIS IS SO SWEEEEEEET!!!!!
by manster65 on Jan 14, 2006 7:25 PM CST reply actions
Defensive struggle so far on this Pats/Broncos game. No action so far.
by bushpilot on Jan 14, 2006 7:41 PM CST reply actions
gotten quiet in here. would really like to see the Pats sent home. am terrified if they win this week they’ll get the Colts, beat them and be in the SB again. aaiiyyyyeee!
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:08 PM CST reply actions
Happy to see the Skins out. Missed the game but am now watching the NE/Denver game. Too bad about the call on NE but I don’t hear the Raiders fans crying about it. I think they’d like to see a few more like it.
by mlf on Jan 14, 2006 9:11 PM CST reply actions
this is certainly not the championship Pats team we’ve seen in the past. very poor at the WR position. lame DB’s.
and yet they are still there, chipping away, holding it together with bailing wire and duct tape. I expect a Flutie drop kick at any time.
anyone who thinks 10-3 will win this for the Broncos believes those telemarketers who call and say “You’ve been selected for a special offer.”
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:12 PM CST reply actions
the more I see Tom Brady the more I’m reminded of Joe Montana. the guy can make whatever throw you need to keep a drive going. likes going short. but can air it out.
of course, as I type this he skips a ball on third and 2. and here is the Cowboys next kicker…
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:16 PM CST reply actions
Adam V is going to be in the Hall of Fame some day. how in the world will they keep him out?
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:17 PM CST reply actions
Great to see the overachieving Redskins lose today. HAHA they couldnt beat Seattle without their best player, and the MVP of the NFL. We had Seattle beat and Alexander played the whole game. where are all the redskin trolls now?
by lou c on Jan 14, 2006 9:18 PM CST reply actions
BuckeyeMark
How about 10-6? No. I don’t think so either. Plenty of things left ot happen. I like the Pats out but I don’t count Brady out until the gane is over.
by mlf on Jan 14, 2006 9:18 PM CST reply actions
mlf:
right there with you. Brady is a winner. period. did you see the shot of him and the offense on the sidelines as they went to commerical. he sees something (probably that short underneath stuff Denver is giving) and wants more of it.
Bill B is an incredible coach. Tom B is a great QB. that’s a lethal combo.
Denver needs to score this trip or, bare minimum, move the ball a long way.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:20 PM CST reply actions
close game. time winding down. Plummer or Brady?
kind of tells you who is going to win this doesn’t it?
maybe the boys in dark blue hold on but I just don’t know. am not bettting the farm on them.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:24 PM CST reply actions
that Sony commercial was hilarious. too funny.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:27 PM CST reply actions
turnover here would be huge for the Broncos. they need NE to help’em a little.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:28 PM CST reply actions
Buckeyemark, you hit it right on the head. Turnover. Ruling stands, they still need to score. This will be a great set of downs if NE can stop them on 1st down.
by mlf on Jan 14, 2006 9:38 PM CST reply actions
I agreed with the call. just can’t see where the ball went out in relationship to the pylon.
what a huge play.
and incredibly, I still don’t think NE is out of the game. Brady and Co just went down the field like a house on fire. lots of time left in this one.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:40 PM CST reply actions
they just said the longest return was George Teague. is that when he was a Cowboy?
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:41 PM CST reply actions
Wild. Denver’s offense has had to gain what, four yards for their 17 points?
by Rafael Vela on Jan 14, 2006 9:41 PM CST reply actions
I’d throw right at Champ Bailey. he’s gassed from that long run!
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:42 PM CST reply actions
that’s the quarter. will 11 points hold up?
does it matter? Manning will make mincemeat out of either of these teams if they play like this in Indy…
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:43 PM CST reply actions
hey, Denver – want to find your pass rush? leting Tom Brady drop back, unfold a lawn chair, survey the defense, pour a lemonade and then finally throw it just won’t work.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:48 PM CST reply actions
I wish Denver could make a blitz work once in a while. Brady is just ot cool at beating them.
by mlf on Jan 14, 2006 9:50 PM CST reply actions
brady not at his best tonight – he’s missed a couple.
and then Adam V misses one. amazing. this is the way it can unravel on a Super Bowl champ….
doesn’t mean it will. lots of time left but one more Denver TD would make it very very tough.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:52 PM CST reply actions
Thank goodness Brady isn’t as sharp as he usuallis. Veneteiry Missed. The sky has fallen.
by mlf on Jan 14, 2006 9:52 PM CST reply actions
I am now officially not going to buy anything from boostmobile. they’ve got TO. that’s all it takes for me.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:53 PM CST reply actions
a five – six minute drive that ends in a TD for Denver could punch their ticket.
or Plummer could throw one of his patented “in the clutch” interceptions.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:54 PM CST reply actions
Still alot of time left, but the reign is looking more and more that its coming to an end. The Patriots look like the better team tonight but it looks like they’re going down.
by Derrick on Jan 14, 2006 9:55 PM CST reply actions
lol buckeye – yup i saw that too – what was the Sony commercial somebody mentioned a while back? i wanna’ keep an eye peeled 4 it
by Loozeeana_Cowboy on Jan 14, 2006 9:55 PM CST reply actions
so much time left but you’re right, Derrick. they look like the better team but they may not pull it out tonight.
I’d rather lose 90-0 than beat myself with turnovers.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:56 PM CST reply actions
if I was Steve Young I’d sue Burger King for every dime they have. they mutilated one of the greatest scrambles in the history of the game with that dumb commercial.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:57 PM CST reply actions
speaking of commercials – i’d like to see somebody knock that Burger King guy’s head off…
by Loozeeana_Cowboy on Jan 14, 2006 9:58 PM CST reply actions
the Sony commercial was awesome. it featured a “replay” of the Cal-Stanford “band on the field” play using players on one of those old electric vibrating football games. it was greatness. they had the announcer call while they manipulated these plastic football players on the field. very low-def. very funny.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 9:58 PM CST reply actions
that’s the ball game if the Broncos get this fumble.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:00 PM CST reply actions
unbelievable. a NE Patriot team self-destructs. incredible.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:01 PM CST reply actions
It’s nice to see the Pats going down in flames for once. Still time left, can’t count them out just yet, another big mistake—-woohoo. Put the nail in the coffin!!!
by bushpilot on Jan 14, 2006 10:01 PM CST reply actions
: ) lol – don’t believe i’ve seen that one – will keep eyeballz peeled
looks like the wheels are comin’ off the patriots wagon
by Loozeeana_Cowboy on Jan 14, 2006 10:02 PM CST reply actions
Broncos got to get six. stretching the lead to 14 ain’t good enough.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:02 PM CST reply actions
Broncos move the ball four inches and score 3 TD’s. amazing.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:03 PM CST reply actions
It’s over. Even Bill and Tom can’t comeback from this.
by mlf on Jan 14, 2006 10:05 PM CST reply actions
am not going to count them out. watch’em do everything smnart here: hurry up offense, go pedal to the metal to get a quick score.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:07 PM CST reply actions
It’s all about the turnovers. The Bronco’s are going to get smoked at Indy next week anyway.
by bushpilot on Jan 14, 2006 10:07 PM CST reply actions
anyone else want to count them out now?
what is Denver thinking? WHAT MIGHT NE DO IN THIS SITUATION? THROW IT DEEP?
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:08 PM CST reply actions
my gosh – those suckers just don’t quit – personally i wanna’ see ‘em get their asses beat
i never really had anything against ’em, other than just tired of seeing them win every super bowl…until this season when brady started thinking he had to run his big mouth about everything…
have to admit though since i’ve been watching the game they’re running/passing all over the broncos on offense – hard to believe they’re not winning
by Loozeeana_Cowboy on Jan 14, 2006 10:10 PM CST reply actions
Yeah Buckeye, nothing like covering the deep pass.
by bushpilot on Jan 14, 2006 10:11 PM CST reply actions
that was a helluva play on rod smith’s part – to stay in bounds plus get the extra yardz
by Loozeeana_Cowboy on Jan 14, 2006 10:14 PM CST reply actions
have to admit Jake hasn’t made the bad play tonight. that’s the diff. Brady throws that huge pick in the endzone – that is the difference right now.
will Plummer feed the Pats one?
time is a factor now…
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:14 PM CST reply actions
I agree mlf. Throw some dirt on that grave—ahh the sweet smell of Patriot death.
by bushpilot on Jan 14, 2006 10:14 PM CST reply actions
the Pat D looks done. thinking the clock is going to get the Pats tonight.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:15 PM CST reply actions
I’ve got my shovel.
that first down means it is time to start shoveling dirt in the grave. barring a real meltdown the pats are done.
peyton manning must be ecstatic. he’s going to the Super Bowl.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:16 PM CST reply actions
who ever thought Tom Brady would be outplayed by JAKE PLUMMER?
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:17 PM CST reply actions
dang man Plummer looks like he just crawled out of a cave or somethin’
by Loozeeana_Cowboy on Jan 14, 2006 10:18 PM CST reply actions
I’m thinking Indy and the Seahawks, unless Carolina comes up big tomorrow, then you never know.
by bushpilot on Jan 14, 2006 10:19 PM CST reply actions
oh boy – kicking here. remember the Eagles blocking the Chargers FG for a TD….
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:21 PM CST reply actions
Hey Loozeeana, how about the Alaskan bush..lol. I see lots like that up here.
by bushpilot on Jan 14, 2006 10:21 PM CST reply actions
tom brady throws another 70 yarder this thing is fixin’ to get mighty interesting with 3:20 left…
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:21 PM CST reply actions
Jake does need a shave and a haircut big time. is Denver trying to set a record: All Time Ugliest QB’s? John Elway wasn’t much in the Handsome Department and now we’ve got Plummer…
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:22 PM CST reply actions
let’s do away with kickoffs, just assess the automatic “block in the block” penalty and start everyone on the 15.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:23 PM CST reply actions
lol bush – : ) yeah i guess so…for some reason i just get the image in my head of the Broncos coaching staff heading out to the “woods” to go pick up Plummer when it’s time for training camp to start
by Loozeeana_Cowboy on Jan 14, 2006 10:24 PM CST reply actions
well, what a sad end. Brady forces it into triple coverage.
Buckeye Mark writes “Game over” in his notebook.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:26 PM CST reply actions
don’t feel bad about cheering against the Pats.
if they had won another Super Bowl then they would’ve eclipsed Dallas as the best Super Bowl run ever.
instead they only TIE with our Cowboys – 3 out of 4. I’m glad our place in history remains secure.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:27 PM CST reply actions
Yeah Loo, he’s got that unabomber type cabin with no running water. I like “roughing it” myself, hunting and fishing. But I do picture that sort of image with Jake, not quite “right”.
by bushpilot on Jan 14, 2006 10:28 PM CST reply actions
Well, we’ve heard Parcells cant win a SB without Belichek, I guess Belichek cant win without Weiss or Crennell. LOL just kidding, hes a good coach but these people that say he made BP great are a joke.
by lou c on Jan 14, 2006 10:32 PM CST reply actions
great game. Colts vs Seahawks sounds about right if Shaun Alex comes back. Colts win that I think.
by BuckeyeMark on Jan 14, 2006 10:32 PM CST reply actions
Talk to you guys, if you are guys of course, tomorrow. I don’t watch pre or post game shows. It fogs the mind too much. So far I’m 2 for 2. Indy and Windy (City) on Sunday

mlf – like a girl would watch a game and post on the internet. not gonna happen!
see you all tomorrow. Cats win. Colts win.

this has been a good day everyone, our super bowl records (3 out of 4 and the patriots getting closer to our record of 5) and the hated redskins get a reality check. too bad it couldnt have been from the cowboys

Buckeyemark, I stand corrected ‘guys’. I just talked with a friend who is a die-hard Bears fan. You know the type, Da-Bears, Cubs, and Chicago Pizza guy. He’s scared to death about the game. I won’t change my pic about it but Bears fans are worried.
