With all these Skin signings(coaches too)I am betting this is Gibb’s last year in Washington.
A question about the Chargers …is it
true A.j. smith and SChott were fueding
so badly the Owner had to get involved??

Becker:
Seems so, apparently Schottenheimer wanted Brees back to compete with Rivers, but Rivers wasn’t drafted as a benchwarmer. If Rivers flops, I expect Schottenheimer to be retained and Smith being shown the door.

Is it me, or the comments made by McGinest sound as if he’s looking to don a star on his helmet?
Will consider as possible landing spots teams he believes are poised to make a great leap forward, situations where he can provide some impetus for improvement.

I was thinking the same thing Chandus with all his “Oh Wells” and time to move on,I understand the business remarks"…….

Has anyone thought of the fact that if we get TdotOdot, we are saying goodbye to Key? Thats not BP,s style. BP had trouble activating 5 WR’s last year so they definately wont keep him. Im all for the “Big Bang” but It cant be this? Right? Raf? Chandus? Eric R? Or any other ’Boys expert?

Chandus,
I too think McGinest will soon be a Cowboy! I certainly hope he brings Vinatieri with him!

Lowdaddy,
Regardless if we sign TeeOoooh, Key is not going anywhere. He is Mr. Clutch, as others have mentioned, and he only makes $1.5 million this year with a $1 million roster bonus.

t.o. & Keyshawn are far from mutually exclusive.
The more more appropriate question is…are we saying goodbye to Glenn.
And that answer is also a resounding no. t.o.’s best position has always been off the slot or “z” position. Of course, that was WCO, but the analogy fits.
Dallas has been missing a true #1. We all remember Irvin’s comments on ESPN.
But how ’bout this receiving threat:
Key
Glenn
t.o.
Witten
Whoo boy!
That being said, I can’t stand the selfish, ignorant, sob and will never cheer for him…the team, yes. Him, never.

Incentives man, make TO play and work for his money, hes a hard worker in practice from what we hear and you know how much Parcells loves players that work hard. And let me ask you all something, how many of you were worried as much as you all are now about Keyshawn before we signed him? And yet he hasn’t been a problem at all. And I guarentee T.O. would put up record numbers against the Eagles everytime we played them. Parcells knows how to deal with players like T.O. and if he doesn’t cooperate then he doesn’t play, and with incentives in a contract, if he doesn’t play then he doesn’t get paid, 1 year deal lets give him a chance!!

I heard that Keyshawn wants to sign a one year extensio to retire as a Cowboy that pays him between 2 and 3M in the 2 years, let’s it’s a $5M deal, is he worth that kind of money? Indeed, let’s move on to another subject. What about Kicker?
by Chandus on Mar 14, 2006 12:41 AM CST reply actions
KJDH:
I wasn’t, I knew that Parcells would give him the same leash that he used at NY.
BTW, the Redskins also reworked Marcus Washington’s deal, I guess some of the money freed by his reworking went right to pay Andre Carter’s salary.

onepaniolo,
Thanks just needed some reassurance. I love the current WR corps plus witten and I have mixed feelings for #81. However, I just cant forget about that monday night game against philly in tx stadium. I just kept thinking why cant we have a player that no one can stop? He has been that kind of guy-hate him or love him.

Adam V for me! No brainer. If not NE then here he has to sign with us.

At this point kicker comes down to Vinatieri, Vanderjagt or some one we wouldn’t readily recognize. I’m with the rest of you vocalizing the need for Vin. Looking at the number of games we lost last year either by a missed fieldgoal or where a previous fieldgoal would have saved us from trying harder late in the game(Seattle). This guy is money in the bank. If his base salary last year was 2.5 MIL then jack it up to 3 I don’t think he’ll complain too loudly. Plus who says only receiver and backs can getincentives laced into their contracts. Give him a couple too.

I live right by the Iggles training camp in Bethlehem PA and I too dislike TO greatly but he is a worker and a great talent. I have seen him workout and play. I doubt if K and TO could survive together. I don’t know if I could stand his tantrums. It would be tough.

shoop,
I agree. I don’t care if we end up paying Vinatieri more than 2.5m if it’s based on incentives that he makes. If he earns it based on requirements he agrees to, then give it to him. I’d hate to see us promise a guy 2.5m per year and have no incentives. Kickers historically have at least one or two down years (look at Longwell last year). So I say give him some guaranteed money and throw some attainable incentives on the plate that can save us money if they aren’t met, but would make him a lot of money if they are.

Chandus,
Thanks for the info.I didn’t hear anything about it in the “mainstream”
mediot outlets just a small blurb in a
local paper. It highlights the main problem with the coach Gm system.

i agree with the whole T.O. thing hes is a pain in the a$$ but with what the giants and skins are doing i`d rather him be with us than against us.we are going to need the fire power.and if we can get adam v,big willie, fabini and hopefully a above avg fs than it wont matter what wash or n.y. did.last thing i don`t like T.O.BUT WE COULD USE HIS BIG PLAY ABILITY.
