romos wheels will have an impact.
romos ability to scramble can help us.
evident in the past.
2002
carter 27 - 91 yds. 5-11 quincy started 7, hutch started 9 games.
hutch 18 - 74 yds.
2003
carter 68 - 257 yds. 10-6 and a return to the playoffs. hutch started
hutch 2 -3yds. 2 games and quincy started the rest.
2004
testaverde 20 - 42 yds. vinny started all games. 6-10
2005
bledsoe 16 - 34 yds. 9-7 bledsoe
as you can see, the last time we went to the playoffs was with a mobile QB. and whats really encouraging, is that team didnt have the greatest weapons on offense.
this team is stacked offensively, and romos 9 times the passer carter could ever be. mobility can save you when the play breaks down. also, teams cant just blitz upfield in fear of the scramble.
anyways,
maybe the numbers dont mean anything.
what do you think?

having a mobile qb
That being said, having a qb who can buy extra time, move around and pick up a first down running once in a while is a great asset to have, but to effectively move the team and score points, the qb has to be effective from the pocket. All your great qb's are very good passers from within the pocket whether they can run or not.
