Giants Go Down, Tied for First

I love it.  Jacksonville has been hell on the NFC East 3-0.  The stars seem to be aligning for a run at this thing.  I heard several national prognosticators saying that Romo was their Pro Bowl QB along with Drew Breese today.  The Giants are banged up and most importantly Eli might just suck for real.  A win this Thursday and I'll start to count chickens.

Great week for the Cowboys.

Romo in the Pro Bowl
One of my buddies told me he would buy my Pitt season tickets if Romo ever made the Pro Bowl.  It will be nice going to see my Panthers free for many years.

actually 3-1
The Jags lost to Washington of all teams in OT.  Remember though even if we beat the Giants in 2 weeks we most likely aren't going to have the tie-breaker since it's based on the divisional record.  The Cowboys are 1-3 and the Giants are 3-0.  We would still lead them in wins though so hopefully we won't need the tie-breaker.

correct
we'll need at least a game lead over them to win the East. Considering how they are playing and that we play them in two weeks, its very doable.

Absolutely
That game in the Meadowlands is going to be huge. There is no way for Dallas to win a tie-breaker over the Giants at this point so they MUST have the better record overall.

As poorly as the NFC as a whole has played, a 1st round bye isn't out of the question, either.

For Dallas to have a serious shot at the SB this year, I think they almost have to get that bye and home game for the divisional round. Paricularly if it's against Seattle.

It will probably take 11 wins to get into that position, though, so not much room for error. With 5 teams currently sitting at 6-4 and 3 more at 5-5 I've gotta believe someone is going to get hot here at the end.

While I appreciate you pointing this out
I resent the wording used:
The Jags lost to Washington of all teams in OT.
Of all teams? Though admittedly the list is short, I'm trying to think of who else the Redskins beat this year. Houston, Jacksonville, and <blank>.

skin patrol
if you call that debacle in DC actually beating us, well then, thats just sad.

They got the 'W', we got the 'L'
That's all that matters.

x
My apologies if you were offended.  I was merely trying to correct the original poster who said that Jacksonville really beat up the NFC East and was unbeaten vs. the NFC East this year.  I pointed out that Jaguars lost to the Redskins in overtime.

The reason I said "of all teams" was because of the fact that Washington is in last place.  If I told you that x team went 3-1 vs all the teams in a particular division, the logical thinking would be that the one loss was to the first or second place team.  It is ironic that the only loss the Jaguars have agains the NFC East is to the last place team i.e. your Redskins.

No offense intended.

Thought so
I just wanted to clarify in case you were serious.  It's sometimes difficult to understand a poster's tone on a blog.

Cheers,

The Gints traded the better QB to SD
Rivers look much better and in command than lil Eli. I think the G'men made a mistake giving up all they did to get Manning. They should have held onto Rivers. But time will tell.

I agree totally
I think Eli is highly overrated and was a number one pick because of his bloodline. I think if his name wasn't Manning, he'd be a 5 or 6th rounder sitting on somebody's bench right now.

Yep
Rivers looks better to me.  Funny how the Chargers draft day traded away Eli and Vick and all they have to show for it is Rivers and LT!

For our sake lets hope this Eli sucking thing is perminent.  Still can't believe we lost that damn Washington game.

Rivers looked better
in college also with over 70% completions through 4 years as a starter.

But keep in mind
that offensive lines are a big part of good quarterbacking, and Eli's is hurting while Rivers' is doing pretty well. Eli may not be as good (he does throw erratically at times) but it's hard to tell at this point why.
