Saturday night game open thread

Giants @ Redskins. Our NFC East brethren get it on.

Good bowl games today. BC nips Navy on a last second FG. Texas and Iowa going down to the wire. Then Georgia and Virginia Tech mix it up.

This is an open thread for all football talk.

Touchdown Redskins!
It will be enjoyable if the Giants go down. I'd love to face the Packers in the playoffs. :) I don't know if that is possible.

This week
I'm rootin' for a Giants loss, an Atlanta win, and a Panther win.  If all those things happen, and we win...we get the bye.

Nope I'm stupid
We won't get a bye no matter what.

bye bye
Chance of the Falcons winning tomorrow has dropped about 90% now, if there was any chance at all.  We're the wild card, which is what we deserve frankly.  It would be odd to win the NFC East when we're clearly not the best team in the division.  Doesn't mean we can't go deep in the playoffs.

One score game
The Redskins are now within one TD of making this another Giants collapse, which I would love to see.

Wow
I was working (delivering pizza) and listening to the game and came in the house around 10:10 or so and it was 27-7. I turn on Sopcast and it's fricken 27-21???? Oh my. Let's go Deadskins!!

would it help if we said "hail hail"
or whatever weird incantation they use?

Coughlin just adjusted his jacket as if he's preparing to run along the sideline screaming at everybody.

Well,
I guess that's it. Giants are gonna pull this out.

Sadly
with the news that the Giants have won and eliminated the Falcons, I can't see them getting up to beat the Iggles. I'm afraid we are destined to be a wild card. But at least we'll get to play Seattle who I think we can beat. I'd be scared to go back in to Philidelphia after the whooping we recieved last week, even if it was more our suckitude then their swell performance that did us in. Don't get me wrong, they played a good game against us, but we didn't look like we wanted to play either.

Does anyone know
how the whole wildcard works, in the sense of which games get played on Saturday and which on Sunday? I'm trying to determine where I'll be and if I can watch the game.

Tiki en fuego
Wow! Didn't think the Skins could suck that bad, how do you let Barber run wild all game long? Way to get your moneys worth out of the million dollar D-Coordinator. Redskins, what a friggin disaster.

So, I'm guessing Atl won't win at Phi, which means Giants go to Phi and Dal goes to Sea for wildcard weekend. Thats not a bad deal for us. I'd rather take our chances against the Seahags than have to play the Iggles again.

NBC must feel pretty sick now for picking the Packers v Bears game, which is totally meaningless.
At least now there won't be a reason to have to listen to Madden fawn all over Farve (gag)

The Bears/Packers game
might not be as meaningless as you think. Depending on how things shake out, if the Pack beat the Bears and a few other games go as planned, the Packers might have the strength of victory over the Giants.
