What will the Cowboys do today?

We'll see what happens today, it should make for some interesting viewing. Todd Archer discusses our own situation in his new article. (sub. required)

The Cowboys have until 3 p.m. today to come up with a deal to delay Glover's bonus or 11 p.m. to restructure the contract. The team was in talks with Glover's agent, Tom Condon, at the NFL scouting combine.

With no new CBA deal on the horizon, I think Glover's fate is sealed unless he restructures his contract. I hate to see Glover go; he's a class act right up until the end. Here's his statement on possibly being released.

"I really have no idea what's going to happen, but I know that's just part of the business," Glover said. "I would like to stay, but if they feel like they have to go in another direction, that's OK."

Like I said; class. They have discussed restructuring Larry Allen's contract and they also need Dat Nguyen to put in his retirement paperwork today or the Cowboys will have to cut him.
The Cowboys would save roughly $1.8 million once Nguyen clears the books.

Jones said the Cowboys have had talks with Marvin Demoff, who represents Larry Allen, about a restructured contract but have little time to make a final decision. The Cowboys owe Allen a $2 million roster bonus, but it is not due until April 1.

We also tendered our exclusive rights free agents.
The Cowboys have tendered contracts to their six exclusive rights free agents. Wide receivers Patrick Crayton and Terrance Copper could sign as early as today for $385,000. Safety Willie Pile and cornerback Jacques Reeves have been tendered contracts worth $385,000, and fullback Lousaka Polite and long snapper L.P. Ladouceur were tendered at $310,000.

Owners voted
Owners in a meeting thursday morning voted unamimously to veto the Unions offer and break off all talks with the NFLPA. The hoping for a last minute deal looks to be dead.
