I need you guys to help me
It's Deadskins week, so BTB is fired up to mix it up with some Skins fans. Of course, I'll be doing some cross-blogging with Skin Patrol over at Hogs Haven, my SB Nation brethren. But another Redskins blog, The Curly R, has asked me to particiapte in a Q&A cross-post with them. They are going to ask me 5 questions about the Cowboys, and I'm asking them 5 questions about the Skins.
This is where you come in. I'm opening the questions BTB asks about the Deadskins to you guys. So think about what you want to ask them and post it in this diary. I'll take the 5 best and send it over to those guys.
Now, I know you want to ask things like:
Is there any possible way Danny Snyder could be more annoying? Or maybe: When Danny Snyder goes to Six Flags, is he too short to ride the roller-coaster? Or perhaps: What are the odds that Sean Taylor shoots Keith Davis during the game? All fair questions, but see if you can come up with some football related ones, too.
Thanks guys, I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Try to get them in by tomorrow afternoon.

question
...oh a serious question.
What's the health with Springs?
Do they expect Carter to put pressure on Bledsoe, somthing he couldn't do to Johnson?
What would it take to see Campbell?

how 'bout...
Just kidding.
Ask if:
Will Clinton Portis start this week?
What's up with Brandon Lloyd? Thought he was going to be an important part of the offense this year.
How do you plan to deal with the Cowboys WRs considering Shawn Springs is hurt? Will he play? Who is his replacement?
Are you satisfied with Brunell? Seems like the his play is leveling off.
Any plans to double team Ware? I know you think you've got a great line and all. Are you confident with that strategy?
Do you acknowledge the one-sidedness of this rivalry? Last year was great. But what about 2004? 2003? 2001? 1999? 1998?
Do you feel confident in your kicking game? True we have our own problems, but you have a relatively expensive kicker who missed an important kick. Does that bother you?
Do you think this is a must win?
There are a lot of assistant coaches making ridiculous amount of money. When do you push the panic button? Sixteen points at home against a non-playoff team isn't exactly what everyone bargained for.
Do you buy into the validity of preseason?
Any promising rookies? Uh. I forgot. Washington hates to draft (Ok, maybe don't say that)
What's the key to the game? Our O-line vs. your D-line? Your receivers v. our DBs?
What has stopped you from killing yourself? I mean, you are a Deadskin fan.
Do you think Portis is gay? He loves his colorful outfits!
Can we blame Synder for the War in Iraq? Does he own stock in Enron?
Quick joke. How many Sean Taylors does it take to screw in a light bulb while stealing an ATM and robbing a 7-11 by gunpoint?
Rock Cartwright. Seriously. Insert your own joke.
Our backup QB is known for his ribs. Is your backup QB known for his soup?
When are your fans going to let go of the cross-dressing? That's like so, 1970s. Will your fans admit marriage is between a man and a woman? Instead of a woman and a man wearing a dress my grandma wouldn't be caught dead in?
I hope that helps you Grizz.

I'll field these
- No, our bizarre backup quarterback situation is viewable here
- Barring injury, Portis will start this weekend.
- Nothing is up with Brandon Lloyd, he had 1 reception in the game, which is the same amount your #2 receiver had in week 4 of last year. By the way, we also picked up another receiver in the offseason, guy by the name of Randle-El. He had 5 receptions, which was about 1/4th and 1/3rd the amount the guys he replaced (Patten and Thrash respectively) had all of last year.
- Good question about the secondary against Dallas receivers, though here's to hoping our front four gets enough push to negate the mismatches in coverage.
- I don't know why a Cowboys fan would invite the comparison like this, but Brunell's "leveling off" season included more touchdowns than he's had his entire career. Bledsoe, on the other hand, threw more interceptions last year than he had since 1999. Brunell had one of his better seasons last year though, to Drew's enormous credit, so did he. It should be pretty telling when one of your best years is 23 touchdowns on 17 picks.
- I am confident in our O-Line's play this coming Sunday.
- I acknowledge the one-sidedness of this rivalry in recent years. By the way, the Redskins sweeped Dallas in 2005.
- It always bothers me when John Hall misses a field goal. It bothers me especially when he misses the game winning kick within 50 yards at home.
- Every game against the Cowboys is a must win. I assume you feel the same towards the Redskins.
- If I were viewing the season holistically, I would probably push the panic button when I lost 14-13 against a division rival at home. Historically that has been a very good indicator of 9 win seasons punctuated by watching other people play in January. Just saying.
- Absolutely not.
- I would point out that two current defensive starters were first round draft picks; Sean Taylor and Carlos Rogers. As far as promising rookies go, Rocky McIntosh looks to follow in the tradition of Rogers and Taylor as rookies who earn starting jobs. Despite the shortage of draft picks in the Gibbs era, I'd point out that our third round draft pick Tight End -- guy by the name of Cooley -- had 3 TDs in the last Cowboys Redskins matchup.
- Key matchup for Dallas is your receivers vs. our secondary. Key matchup for the Skins is our d-line vs. your o-line. Whomever wins this battle will win the game, in my opinion.
- I would rather cheer for the Redskins than cheer for an arrogant self righteous prick receiver who formerly insulted my team and an entire stadium of fans by provoking a fight -- not once but twice -- at the middle of the field. No matter what happens with the Cowboys this year, there is no greater shame than being a Cowboys fan and suffering the indignity of having to call Terrell Owens one of your own. That guy sucks as a human being.
- I do not think Portis is gay. You can read about how not gay he is here. We'll see if T.O. makes similar accusations towards Drew Bledsoe as he did towards Jeff Garcia.
- You can blame Snyder for anything you want. We are way ahead of you on that.
- One. Though you better hope Keith Davis isn't around or one of those bullets will inexplicably find themselves in his body. Wrong place wrong time, right? Right????
- Rock Cartwright is a very solid special teams contributor who had just as many 100+ yard rushing games as Marion Barber last year despite starting 2 fewer games. He also had 7.4 yards per carry last year. Who is this joke on again?
- Our backup QB is known for his excellent College Football career.
- Perhaps you should explain to the various Children's Hospitals/Charities that the Hogettes have contributed to over the years how "1970s" their costumes are despite the very endearing and valuable contribution our superfans have provided to sick children. And while you indict the Hogettes for encouraging a form of marriage you happen to disagree with, I doubt person's of less discriminating tastes (namely sick kids in hospitals) view the dresses as anything more than entertainment. But seriously, feel bad.

I think...
Theismann I don't think annoys people with his subjectivity, it's his wildly shifting opinions and pompous attitude that turns viewers off...
One minute the Redskins are a Super Bowl caliber team, the next minute they are the worst team in football...One minute Bill Parcells is a genuis...the next the game has passed him by....
He's like Bill Walton. Except Bill seems to be in on the joke that he's a joke. Theismann doesn't have a clue.

question
If so, when do you think he'll be ready to take over for Brunell?

Some questions for Grizz
Keyshawn wasn't the answer, and neither were Chad Hutchinson, Drew Henson nor Quincy Carter, and TO is poison. Why do the Redskins insist on signing good players to longterm deals?
The city of Dallas won't reveal drawings of the new stadium for fear of attracting terrorists. Why doesn't Redskins Stadium consider itself attack-worthy? Do you want the terrorists to win?

Giving Al Saunders buttloads of money but not Marvin Lewis? Giving Steve Spurrier boatloads of money?

I'm sorry to hear that.
Chief himself suffered a stomach aneurysm in July and is currently in a wheelchair. Here's to hoping both these fan faves get better.
