A.D.
I don't know everybody else's college football ties, but man oh man, I am praying for somebody on our defense to light up Adrian Peterson on Sunday. Nothing worse than a Texas traitor that decides to go up north so he can win a championship. Everybody knows how that turned out for him.
Another thing, why would you give somebody the nickname of "A.D." when his real initials are so close to that? Eventually this guy is gonna get hurt just like at OU and he will no longer be able to run around "all day."

There are 2 ways of redeeming yourself if you are a Sooner in my book. 1. You are Darrel K. Royal and 2. You put that star on your helmet.
Roy Williams was able to do one of those things, so I have forgiven his atrocities.
I hate the fact that Peterson is such a good running back. It really kills me. I think we can contain him on Sunday because our run defense has been playing very good football here recently. But what I am really hoping for is a "jacked-up" worthy hit on the evil man that is Adrian Peterson.
Maybe Roy can even lay the blow... that would be even more redemption on his part.
p.s. I apologize to all the OU fans that are a part of blogging the boys. Not really for the post, but mostly just because you are OU fans. :)
I'm interested as to what kind of comments we get from this...

adrian peterson
the more i think about this, the more scared I get. What good running back have the cowboys had to face so far? Brown?
Peterson would easily be the best and the guy is just flat out elusive. There were more than a few tackling mistakes against the patriots trying to bring down wes welker and morris. peterson will be able to exploit those a whole lot better.
Not that I don't think the Cowboys can stop him, just that its not a foregone conclusion.
Seriously though, can bradie james wrap up on peterson on a consistent basis? Can Nate Jones?

James can stop him cold
stopping the run is James' best trait, so I'm not worried about him running up the gut.

And Minnesota Can't Pass
to save their lives. We have a good run defense, and the Vikings are one-dimensional offensively. I think we're going to blow them out.

how is stopping the run an obvious problem
for the Cowboys? That doesn't make sense since thats what our defense does the best.
The teams the Cowboys will have difficulty stopping this season are high octane passing teams with good QBs.
I got news for you, Minnestoa doesn't qualify. Besides, if Griese can put up huge numbers on their defense, Romo must be salivating.

How about Barry?
He must get some redemption for the Lombardi after coming from OU. As a KU grad and an Oregon resident I must say OU is not on my list of "good guys" either. You have to smile at the Oregon/OU game last year as the OU folks were so sure we jobbed them out of a national championship that they had to prove otherwise against Boise State. Oh man was that sweet!

Oh - and I agree
that our secondary is poor at tackling but Peterson has to get there first and that has been a problem for the league so far.

i don't think
our linebackers are always great at tackling either. there have been a few times where RB's have been able to break into the secondary this year, and we haven't really played anybody with good moves.

i could be wrong but..
a lot of the clips i've seen of adrian peterson in a vikings uniform come from a lot of good run blocking and him taking advantage of that. im not trying to take anything away from him as a runner, but it seems to me like people might put a lil much of the praise on him, and not enough on the blocking..
