Some Bleed Green boy thinks so - http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/s...
I feel like I can call him boy, as that's about the age level his blog posts seem to be aiming for.
I really can't grasp where he's coming from. I can understand if he's upset that Dallas has a much broader fanbase, which is the case.
There are some teams that appeal to people all over. Notre Dame football. The Yankees. Whatever it is.
For me, I grew up when Roger Staubach was in his prime. How could a young kid not love that team, that quarterback, everything about them.
Sure, I'm from PA -- but I am 3 hours from Philadelphia and 4 hours from Pittsburgh. So I can't run over and hang out with Bleed Green and his buds anyways. And I sure don't get the Inquirer, or the Post-Gazette.
This guys is blogging, so obviously he knows that we get media instantly today, from all over the country, the world, you name it. And using his rationale, what about the lone Eagles fan who moves to Colorado? Does he become a Bronco fan so he can go to the parades? Give me a break.
This blog post is but another classic example of why the Philly sports fan deserves the reputation he's got.
In case you don't have the time to read the post, I'll drop a couple of the quotes here:
think it's appropriate to discuss who I consider to be the most vile creatures on earth. The scourge of any NFL city... That would Dallas Cowboy fans not from Dallas.
Were these fake fans also rooting for the Nazis to win WWII? What would make these people hate their community and in reality, themselves so much?
People that use Nazi references, man. Plus, like I said, I don't have a village team.
If I posted all of the garbage he typed, I'd end up re-writing it here. This isn't 1850. Its 2007. I've got local buddies who are Raiders fans, Seahawks fans, Steelers fans, you name it. And we have fun watching football. There's all kinds of people, all over the world. Too bad Bleed Green can't figure that out.
That aspect of community is what makes football so great.
It sure is. Thanks, Grizz, for runnning a great ship here. And for making the Dallas Cowboys community better for all of us.
