Early games open thread
Yeahhhh Boyyyy! I’m fired up for an NFC East showdown, this game has that old-time, big-game feel for the Cowboys and Giants.
But, we have to wait for the early games to play out. Our NFC East brethren get together with the Eagles visiting the Redskins. I’ll be rooting for Adrian Peterson today when the Vikings visit the Packers. And the Jags and Titans get together to try and figure out if either is a legit contender.
This is an open thread for the early games and Cowboys pre-game chat.

Ha
Sean Payton took a page from his mentor's book and put mousetraps around the Saint's locker room with the Rams logo painted on them. Don't take the cheese.
trap gimmick
looks like it did absolutely nothing

True
And score less than 21 points.

Pittsburgh
has at least one of the top 2 defenses and are getting back they're starting Defensive End.
I could be wrong, but that's my bold prediction.

I'm not saying Cleveland will win
but for the Browns to win the game, they'll have to throw the ball, and I think the Steelers will have to score more than 21 to win
Well...
The Pitt D certainly isn't backing up my claim right now...

It's Prediction Time
If this were a home game, or even a game played on a neutral field, I'd take the Cowboys. But with the Giants being at home, being almost completely healthy, having the bye week to get extra prep time in, PLUS the always important "they need this more than we do" aspect, I think there's too much stacked against the Cowboys. I think it will be close, but I'm not sure the Cowboys are enough better than the Giants to overcome all the little things stacked against them.
Prediction: Cowboys 27, Giants 30
Jacobs goes 24 carries, 110 yards, 1TD
Romo still outplays Manning.
Hey man
They're not my Giants, I think I made that clear. If not, let me now: I root for the Cowboys.
And no, I don't. If I was that confident in the Giants winning, I wouldn't have picked them to win by 3 in a relatively high scoring game at home.

Don't look now...
But the Packers might actually have a running game. They're eating Minnesota alive on the outside with #25 (Grant?).
What!?
Cle 14 Pit 3. The 2 times we get a pick of a terrible team, they decide to play out of their minds.

Freakin' Browns, 14-3
Come on Pittsburgh, help us out a little.
The Browns Have Only
Won in Pittsburgh once since the 1980's (1-13). They're starting to look like a serious playoff contender.
face the facts guys
The Browns are a pretty good football team, and are going to be there competing for a playoff spot in the AFC.
No facts to face
I know they're good, I still root for them to lose

I think most
thought of them as a contender for a playoff spot. But those of us who thought that the Steelers would win this game handily also assumed that a.) Pitt is a top 5 team and b.) Cleveland is not.
effing browns.
by GhettoBear04 on Nov 11, 2007 12:52 PM CST up reply actions
unfortunately true
i was hoping for them to do so because the only other team that might have a chance is the giants and I can't see rooting for them.
most at the beginning of the season
thought the browns might win 2 or 3 games and that their pick would be a top five pick in the draft, but when I looked at their roster and the talent they drafted and signed, it looked to me like a team that was about to put it together, especially on offense, their defense wa questionable, but I always thought they could win 7 or 8 games, but now they looke like they could even win the division if they win today, and if not, a playoff birth isn't out of the question.
Eagles Appear to Be
Back on the up side of their up-and-down season. They lead the Redskins 7-6, and have moved the ball pretty well. The Redskins missed the extra point after their touchdown.
I didn't know
games were still played after the world series, Royals 5 Rockies 3

Haha!
we both had the same game and had baseball references, and posted at the same time, wierd.

Jason Elam
with a three-run jack puts the Rockies back up 6-5 over the Royals.

Don't mind me...biochemistry studying has made my brain woozy...is it game time yet?

Vikings getting violated by the Pack. Damn......!
I sure do want us to have the home field throughtout the playoffs.
did anyone send a wake up call
to the saints, they're trailing 20-7 in the third quarter to the winless Rams
Rams score again
27-7, could get their first win.

Been watching that game...
...and they have been that dominating. A case where the score reflects the play on the field. The Vikings have knocked Favre around, but he continues to throw it into small holes.
More importantly, they have been able to run on the Vikings practically at will. Even inside.

Agreed...
Farve put one ball on Driver's back shoulder in traffic that had to be one of the nicest throws I've ever seen. Nothing that would make a highlight reel, just great football from one of the all-time best.
Speaking of which, Farve the Elder joined Marino in the 60,000 yard club today. The way he's playing, he might break the yardage record this year.

browns/steeler game is a good game
and by the score of the Car/Atl game, thats not a bad game either, could be stuck with blowout games like the Stl/Saints and GB/minn games.
hey dave troll
at least you aren't forced to watch the skins!
god bless directv!
I've got..
Jack at Tenn.
Minn at GB.
That's 3 pretty bad QB's (Bollinger, Gray, and a hurt Young)
by GhettoBear04 on Nov 11, 2007 2:12 PM CST up reply actions
here in hawaii
Denver/KC
Green Bay and Minn, but when GB got up 27-0 they switched to Wash/Phil
yeah, in Hawaii!!!
you wont get any sympathy from me about any game, you're in Hawaii, what is the complaint!!!LOL
:-) not complaining
just commenting.
how do you root against both teams? I supposed I'd prefer Philly win as it will put the skins further out of contention, and bode well for the boys next week.
So...
Miami leads Buffalo 3-2. That's just funny.
Steelers are going to beat the browns
Brownies offense has really looked bad in the second half
*Gasps*
Go wash your mouth out with soap right now!

hey i live in virginia
I've gotta root against the dreaded skins, plus it would help us out if washington loses!
well maybe
they do have a chance at the pats if they can pull out this comeback
remarkable
after last week, i guess this makes san diego look really bad and green bay really good. who'd have predicted that GB would dominate not only in the air but also on the ground?
Skins and Iggles
Exchange fumbles. I'd like to see the Skins lose for division standings, but I'm not sure I want them to lose before coming to DAL
can anyone tell me that the Eagles
are better off with Mcnabb at QB over Garcia!!!
If Garcia was at the helm of the Eagles this year, I still think they would be the team to beat in the NFC east
McNabb...
20/28 for 251 and 4 TDs so far today.
Plus Westbrook is single-handedly winning me a fantasy game today.

30 minutes 'til game time
and the Giants' doom begins!
30 minutes
to GAME TIME!!!
GO COWBOYS@!
Deadskins
5 plays inside the 10-no TD and now a penalty. Looks like they're playing for the FG at home
Brownies are challenging the TD
it did look like the ball hit the turf, they'll probably call it back
i just hope it doesn't go into overtime
or they may stay with this game instead of going to the Dallas game.
cleveland lost that game
because they played way to conservative with the play calling in the second half
*clears throat*
WHAT TIME IS IT!?
Time for
philly to run out the clock....
so we can get the main event UNDERWAY!
