There really is a deep satisfaction that comes from dominating the Eagles. My father and others from the older generation have a special hatred towards the Redskins, but I think my generation directs our strongest passions at the Eagles. There is no doubt that this is because of their recent domination of the NFC East, but Philadelphia just seems like such a classless and dirty place.
We are entering the second game of a three game divisional stretch that holds a huge role in our post-season seeding. The Giants are next, and a win gives us a firm lead in the division and possession of the tiebreaker. We must stop Plaxico Burress, who exploded in Game 1, and we must pressure Manning. What a bonus it would be if Tank Johnson could provide interior pressure to complement Ellis and Ware! Romo played terrific in our last meeting, but will face a revamped front with Omniforgothisname back.
You would think the Giants would be smart enough to not continue the Eagle's single coverage on TO. Teams have been working to contain Romo in the pocket to eliminate his playmaking on the fly. I would think the Giants will continue this, especially with the memory of Witten's long catch last season that sealed the game for us.
Is it just me, or do our coverage guys look terribly slow, especially after watching the how the Colts matched up against the Patriots? It's like everybody has a broken foot except Newman...Oh, wait...Henry is back, which can only be a boost to our team. My idea for next week is to have him play physical with Burress, with safety protection from RW. I have read that Burress can get frustrated quickly and lose focus.
Please God, let us finish strong. Another emotional post season collapse would be too much for me to handle. And please protect Romo.
