Courtney Brown gets his chance

This is one guy I'll be focused on during the Carolina game. I am pulling for him, cuz I think he is going to play a big role for us in the future. He has the size, speed, and cover ability, I'm looking for him to make his mark. With the likelihood of losing N Jones, J Reeves, K Davis to free agency this upcoming offseason, and eventually the possible dumping of R Williams and A Henry. We need to see if this guy is going to be the man in the plans.

I think its a real stretch to assume

we're going to lose all those players over the off season. I happen to think most of those players will be on team next season.

I can assure you...

There will be interest around the league with Reeves. He has started the majority of this season and has done an alright job. There will be interest in him, trust me.Teams will offer him starting CB money, obviously something we are not going to do.

Nate Jones is not in our plans, he makes too much, and I can't see this team paying over a million a year for a guy who couldn't cover anybody.

Keith Davis also will be getting too much money to be retained solely as a special team ace.

Roy Williams...well..I'm not even gonna go there...We have to keep him solely because the contract makes us keep him.We've been hood-winked.

Anthony Henry "when healthy" I agree, will most likely be here next year, he is under contract...I was merely talking 2-3 years from now with him..."eventually" ..he's gonna either go to FS or be unloaded.I can assure you that the Boys will be using a very high draft pick on a cover corner that will be starting next year, at least in the nickel, or taking over and/or replacing Henry at the outside CB spot the year after. This is all assuming we don't make a major splash in free agency and grab a top CB.

I agree

We need a number two cover corner, at Henry's age and contract, we cant afford to wait to address his position, I wouldn't mind Hamlin at strong safety and Henry, Brown or Watkins at free safety. I think Davis and Nate Jones are gone after this year. Reeves is a good three, even better fourth corner, but not a number two corner, if he wants big starting money, bye bye...

Does this assurancce hold

if Ireland is gone to Miami? I think we mostly agree that our need is CB but I am not as sure that one will be available in the right space where we draft. IF we still have Ireland we should find a decent CB in the 1st 4 rounds.

Keith Davis is playing under a contract already which we matched as a restricted free agent and being paid as a top special teamer. I would think a renewal at similar numbers would be mutually agreeable.

Reeves has grow a lot here this year and may be resigned. I don't think he will get $80 million though from anyone. You may be right that the allure of starting for a worse team will prevail over being the nickel back for a championship contender.
