Jessica Simpson attended Carolina game

Matt Mosley is reporting that Jessica Simpson attended the Carolina game Saturday night. He was told by Romo himself that she was at the game.

During the week, Romo dropped hints to a couple of us that he had something special planned for the postgame news conference. He did tell one of my pals that he wrote a "terrible article," but he quickly moved on.

Then he indicated Simpson may have been inside of Bank of America Stadium. We assumed he was kidding since the NFL Network spent half the night talking about the relationship, but never found her in the building.

Knowing how much you guys care, I pressed him on the subject when everyone cleared out.

"I made sure she was here," he said emphatically.

And there you have it, folks.

In football news, owner Jerry Jones told me that Saturday may have been the best performance of Romo's career. Even without Owens for 2 1/2 quarters, Romo was 28-of-42 for 257 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He's had better numbers, but I'm sure Jerry was thinking about how he bounced back from his worst game of the season.

I'm really glad she was there to dispell all this utter nonsense that she was a distraction in the Philly game. Hopefully she'll attend the playoff games as well.
