Ingrediants for Success
Why the Cowboys are primed for an NFL record 9th Super Bowl appearance (in order):
- Tony Romo - a top 3 candidate for League MVP
1a. Offensive Line - a top 3 OL in NFL
- Demarcus Ware - a top 3 candidate for Def. Player of the Year. Plays the run, pass rush and pass coverage combined as good as anyone in the league.
- Pass Rush - 2nd in the league. Ware (13.5) and Ellis (12) make up over half of our total - 43. They are both in the top 5 for sacks in the league.
- Receiving Corps - Witten is the NFL's best TE and only Randy Moss has more TDs than TO.
- One of the best tandems of young coordinators in the league: Jason Garrett will be highly coveted after this season due to his play calling and his ability to unify the offensive unit. Brian Stewart has us in the top 10 in almost every defensive category.
- Special Teams - Folk, McBriar, and Keith Davis
- Head Coach - Infused much needed personality and trust in his players to get the job done. He took the team that Parcells built - to the next level.
- Front Office - Jerry benefitted from watching Parcells over the past few years and had a GREAT off-season in Free Agency.
- One of the best young RBs in the league - Marion Barber.
This team is built to be good for several years to come. We are locking up some key pieces and have some guys "waiting in the wings" that will be contributing more in the near future:
Isaiah Stanback
Pat Watkins
Anthony Spencer
Pat McQuistan
Sam Hurd
Jason Hatcher
Doug Free
Tony Fasano
Miles Austin

Nice list and well thought out
There are a few questions that need to be answered/addressed for us.
- Injuries will limit every team and usually decide who goes to the Super Bowl. Your #1, 3 and 4 are all battling injuries. Ratliff's injury might be the biggest one but Gurode is pretty close.
- The coaches are fighting the distraction of off-season head coaching jobs. Even Coach Phillips must be preparing his list of replacements.
- Jeff Ireland is said to be already penciled in for Miami's GM and his shoes will be hard to fill. (Perhaps Jerry Jones steps aside and makes Ireland GM?)
- Keith Davis is a free agent (and Pro Bowl alternate). Will he be just as reckless knowing he has a big payday in March?
- Defensive back injuries and limited experience can derail us. We are not deep at either cornerback or safety.

what questions!!
1-if the cowboys were playing a playoff game on Sunday, the only player status that you'd have to be concerned about id T.O, the rest would be a go.
2-Coaches aren't worrying about the job status, this is a 13-2 team, all they're worrying about is getting ready for the playoffs.
3-Jeff ireland cant go anywhere until after the draft, Scouting contracts are May to April. If he takes the Miami GM job, it wont be until after the draft.
4-Keith davis wont be getting a big payday, in fact he wont get a contract as big as the last one he signed with the Saints and dallas matched, he's nothing more than a special teams player at best.
5- not much we can do about it if henry or newman go down in the first playoff game, but every team is like that, just have to cross your fingers and address corner early in the draft next year.

it just this year it seems to be shapig up
that this is looking like a good class of corners coming out, usually there is two or three very good ones, but this year there could be depending on how many declare for the draft, six or seven, good to very good corners.
