Peyton Manning hosted Saturday Night Live with musical guest Carrie Underwood.
Underwood (is she going out with Tony Romo?) will be remembered most for the short skirt she wore for her first song.
Peyton Manning is a good actor and a likeable guy, but the writing on SNL is miserable these days. I felt sorry for the guy, having to rehearse such awful stuff.
Take the skit where Peyton is supposed to throw a boulder, but doesn't. Who thought that was entertaining? Was there even a point? Or the skit with the psycho girl? Or Peyton on a porch drinking coffee and saying ridiculous lines? Or the "inspirational" halftime basketball song? Or the Mercedes commercial with meatloaf? Who thought any of that was funny?
Where was the Mastercard parody? Does it take a comic genius to write a Mastercard parody?
Where was the Sprint parody with a fake moustache?
Where were the cameos? None? How about a "Dancing with the Stars" parody of Heather Mills? Maybe SNL could have had Peyton dance with Emmitt Smith? Any cameo and parody there would have scored.
But the boulder sketch? Meatloaf baking in a Mercedes? TERRIBLE!
How can I be hired as a writer?
