Dallas considering Michael Turner?

The idea of Dallas trading for Michael Turner seems very odd, but according the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Cowboys are one of four teams that are still showning interest in LdT's backup.

I really hope we don't give up draft picks for another running back. I wouldn't even want to trade Julius Jones and a 4th rounder let alone the price San Deigo is sure to demand.

The big story in the story...
Buffalo, Dallas, Tennessee and the New York Jets have shown interest in acquiring the restricted free agent. All appear willing to part at least with a first-round draft pick, but sources indicated the Chargers are still seeking two picks - in the first and third rounds.

Give up a first this year? No way, I have a hard time believing that's true about Dallas. I wonder how much of this is just agent-speak trying to create interest.

I guess this dispells
any nonsense that we couldn't get at least a 2nd rounder for JJ.

I don't believe this story for a minute
It's BS probably put out by either an agent or SD's GM to try to start a bidding war.

We aren't going after Turner, and I doubt the Jets are either, since they just picked up Thomas Jones. Buffalo will get a RB in the first round.

You would think
they might at least list teams actually in need of a RB are the ones interested. Perhaps a holdover from the days when Jerry Jones chased every tail in the bush?

Makes perfect sense
I don't think Jerry is seriously interested in trading picks for Turner, but if he is going entertain trade offers for JJ then it makes perfect sense.  He needs to find out what the market is like young RB's.  Talking to the chargers keeps him in the loop as to what he can possibly get for JJ.

If we could get a 2nd round pick for JJ, what do you think it would cost to get Adrian Peterson?  Maybe our first, the second from JJ and some later round picks.  I think he could be the only player in the draft who could actually make us a better team next year.

Turner the Burner
He's too good to be a back-up yet again. I think he's worth a late 1st rd pick, if I needed a RB. He doesn't seem to be a fit for Dallas. A 1st and 3rd? No way. A late first and third from next year, maybe. I think he could something similar to what Priest did when he left Baltimore. Maybe not lead the league in rushing, but could be top 15.
