IRVING -- Kicker Martin Gramatica agreed to a two-year deal with the Cowboys on Monday.

Financial details were not available.

Gramatica made six of eight field-goal attempts last season and all 23 extra-point attempts.

Gramatica signed with the Cowboys as an unrestricted free agent on March 23, replacing Mike Vanderjagt. Gramatica is beginning his eighth NFL season.

He kicked for Tampa Bay from 1999-2004 and also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts in 2004. He was out of football in 2005.

Good
I think he is a good fit for our team and was far more dependable than Vanderdoink.  Odd that Vandershank hasn't signed anywhere... oh yeah, he sucks, so nevermind.

I like the move too
He really impressed me kicking that well after being injured and not kicking for that long...

My strongest impression
of Martin was his attempt to push Babineaux pursuing Romo on the botched hold in Seattle. Had Martin been more than 100 pounds soaking wet he likely would have succeeded and the Cowboys likely would have played in Chicago if not Miami. The main thing is Martin had the presence of mind to avoid Romo, push Babineaux and understnd what was happening. He might have been the only one (besides Babineaux) among millions of viewers, coaches and players.

Lets all hope Martin goes on to break Vanderjackright's NFL accuracy records and while here in Dallas.
