Feeling a draft

Draft day is getting closer. We’re almost a week away. The NFL Draft is an oasis in the football desert. Speculating on the college kids is kind of fun, and the first few days of free agency are an adrenaline rush; but nothing quite satisfies like the actual draft weekend. I won’t be this happy again until the start of training camp. The Cowboys have 10 picks this year. They could try to move some of those picks; either by exchanging a quantity of lower picks to get an extra pick in a higher round or to move up in a round or two. Or, they could just play it straight.

If they play it straight, here’s a guess at how many players they will take at a position.

3 OLB/ILB
2 OL
1 QB
1 FB
1 WR
1 NT
1 CB

Anybody else got a guess?

Kicker

The cowboys should take a kicker if they can get Crosby in the 5th or later.
Most players that low do not make the team (especially with the current crop of Cowboys) and this has been a sore spot for 10 years.

I like Grizz's picks

I would only swap one of the LB's for a DB, and the FB for a RB, it looks like we can get a FB in the UDFA field.

2 LB
2 DB
1 NT
1 QB
1 RB
1 WR
1 OC/OG
1 OG/OT

How it will shake out...

If Reggie Nelson is there at 22 we will select him.  If not, we will trade down with the Saints to #27.  We will pick up a 5th or so.  Then when 27 rolls around, we'll trade into the 2nd round with some mid-pick team.

Rnd 1 - DS or Trade
Rnd 2 - WR
Rnd 3 - DT
Rnd 4 - OL, (QB)
Rnd 5 - LB, DB, (FB)
Rnd 6 - OL, DL, DB, WR

() if trade

i agree

3 LB's is too many. i see them taking two in the draft. i would add either a corner or safety. i have no idea what they might do at FB. that is one spot i know they need on the team. i just haven't heard definitely if they are after one or satisfied with hoyte for the meantime.
