Cowboys training camp dates set
The Dallas Cowboys have set their dates for training camp this year in San Antonio.
The Cowboys will be in town for roughly only two weeks, with their arrival set for July 24 and their departure for either Aug. 8 or 9, team spokesman Rich Dalrymple confirmed Friday.
That’s a shortened training camp in San Antonio because of a scheduling conflict with a boat show at the Alamadome. Last year’s training camp was three weeks long in Oxnard. But the Cowboys will hold the remainder of training camp at their Valley Ranch complex. No word yet on whether any of the practices at the Ranch will be open to the public.
The timing of the practices each day in San Antonio have yet to be released but the manager of the Alamadome facility hopes to get a schedule from the Cowboys later this month. Festivities will commence on July 24th and the first practices will be on the 25th.
"There will be some type of an opening event," Dalrymple said. "We are still working on the details. It will probably be the night of July 24th."

After waiting for 2 years
to go back to San Antonio (or is it 3) because of scheduling conflicts it seems lame that there is a scheduling conflict still costing a third week. I wonder if Coach Phillips does not like to be out-of-town for camp? It also seems like we are starting a whole week early this year.
I hope this schedule meets yours Grizz since your daily reports were the highlight of the year for reporting last year.
Agreed, Lee...
I, too, loved those daily Training Camp reports that Grizz provided.
And once the draft in April concludes, it's the next Dallas Cowboys "event" to look forward to.
