Around SBN: Doug Flutie's Hail Mary, And Why College Sports Matter

How about some TRULY biased blogging....

So I stumbled across this blog entry, partly by mistake.  I can't tell if it is a legitimate journalist writing this, but I am leaning towards no.  At least I am hoping its not.

This Philly fan spouts some nonsense....

Now I dont think I can speak for everyone here, but I would like to think I can say this about most Cowboys fans.  While we HATE Philadelphia (Mainly their fans), we are still able to think logically.  I ll be honest, Im worried about Philadelphia this year, and I think it may become a dogfight for the Division.  If McNabb plays at even 80%, he is better than most of the starting quarterbacks in the league.  But I digress.

This genius spouts off with some truly well researched material:

Wade Phillips is a complete joke of a head coach. He is great defensive coordinator, but is horrendous as a head coach.

Star-divide

I also want to touch on the coverage the camp is getting in the National media.  I have stopped watching ESPN altogether, and get my sports highlights from FSN.  This morning on Sportscenter Ed Werder seemed to just make stuff up.  He did this phony "Im on the phone from San Antonio" bit and reported that TO was still out with a hamstring strain, and Aaron Glenn and Flozell Adams were still out as well.  We all know that TO was a little sore, and Glenn and Adams practiced yesterday.  Add to that Sean Salisbury claiming TO faked an injury to get publicity.

Listen to Brad Sham and Mickey Spags on their "Talkin Cowboys" special each day.  You will get much better insight and facts from reporters who are actually there, unlike ESPN who has yet to send a camera to the camp.

Or you could just forget about the media...

and only read BTB! ;-)

I completely agree actually

My point was more about the mainstream media.  We are still fans, and I think Spags and Sham are fairly unbiased.  Some, but not completely.  Stand by while I shamelessly edit my diary.

By the way, I have been visiting other blogs on SBN.  This is FAR and AWAY the most complete and fan friendly blog here.  The Patriots blog is just about barren.  No comments anywhere, and only about one post every two or three days.  The PATRIOTS!!!

Great job Grizz!

You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small.

Yep

It's the difference between being a blindly emotional fanatic and being a fan of your team and the game. I have no problem saying that McNabb is an excellent QB and Reid is one of the top coaches in the league and still root for the Eagles to lose every single game this season. If you can't analyze your team and other teams somewhat accurately, what's the point?

Philly fans are not right

in the head.  I am from the Northeast and went to a couple of Philly games with friends and I have never seen more bitter and fickle fans.  I saw a game at Veterans stadium three weeks after the eagles had beat the cowboys and tons of fans had shirts that said "F**K DALLAS" and I thought "guys you won that game, let it go".  Then the eagles started losing to the giants and the fans were booing their team in the second quarter.  Don't listen to anything they say or write.

they're jealous of our success

its that simple. We have 5 rings, they have zelch and for that they hate us, which is a good thing.

Philthydelphia Fans

I live in the area and this is typical jibberish I hear all day long.  If you ask an Eagles fan why they hate the 'Boys so much, you never get a truthful answer.  But their body language betrays them every time.  They are so envious of our success and global recognition, and especially of the America's Team moniker.  It just galls them to death.  I know some Eagle's fans (a few) who you can hold a civilized, dispassionate conversation concerning our respective teams.  And then you have the others. Their reputation is well earned.
