Romo denies reported contract terms

Tony Romo denies the rumor that he is asking for $30 million in guaranteed money.

Romo, who is in the final year of his contract, also shot down a report on an NFL- related Web site. Citing sources, profootballtalk.com said Romo's agent, Tom Condon, is asking for more than $30 million in guaranteed money on a possible contract extension.

Consider that Super Bowl MVP quarterback Peyton Manning secured $34.5 million guaranteed on his last contract three years ago.

"That's not true," Romo said of the supposed offer by Condon. "I don't know where that came from. But I will take it, though."

Nick Eatman discusses the injuries and other stories going into the Rams game.

Jason Witten gets some ink. With T.O. and Witten catching all of Tony Romo’s passes, there just aren't enough football’s to go around for the other WR’s. In essence, Witten is our #2 WR and Crayton is the #3.

Leonard "Bigg" Davis gets a long profile from Eatman.

Anthony Henry is getting it done.

Consider this an open thread for Cowboys chat and NCAA football chat.

And a moral victory for the Tar Heels...

They kept it respectable vs Va Tech.  This is a VERY young Tar Heel team, so it's more of a "wait til next year" ... before the season is even mid-way.

Which is all the more reason I am so happy for Sundays.

My guess on Romo... he gets a HUGE contract. Jerry's no fool.

Butch Will Turn That Program Around

He's an exceptional recruiter, and I expect to see the Heels makes some noise in football within the next three years.

Davis knows how to build/rebuild a football program.  He did it at The U -- with less scholarship openings -- and I don't anticipate him having as many obstacles over there in Chapel Hill as he did in Coral Gables.

But it takes time.

Rome wasn't built in a day.

Eatman's Article on Bigg Davis

I always seem to enjoy Nick Eatman's stories, and that profile on Leonard Davis really got me thinking about the big O-lineman's perspective -- from the Arm Pit of the NFL (quoting Simeon Rice regarding the Arizona Cardinals) up through Week 3 of Davis' time with Dallas.

When you think about how much of a part he played in pummeling the Bears' Tommie Harris last Sunday night and how GARGANTUAN our Offensive Line is... it actually doesn't surprise me that those five guys up front are mauling opposing defenses thus far.

Those stupid MSM writers wanna say that the Cowboys whipped Chicago last week because of all the injuries to the Bears' D... uh, who do those idiots think inflicted the pain on them.

I pray that our O-Line stays healthy the entire season and gets better with each and every game.

And I echo Eatman's sentiments that Leonard "Bigg" Davis gets a few invites to the Pro Bowl for years to come...

What's amazing is...

that Florida, Texas, and Rutgers lost @ home to currently unranked opponents.
