San Diego will be schooled.
Should have won it all last year. Oh well.

I'm wracked with dread
I know that if my Boys play up to their capabilities, there's no question about the fact that this game is in hand.
However, the last month has me scared expletiveless.

wow
i've never seen peyton forget a play....but, he's still a beast.

when he gets protection
both he and Brady are unstoppable when they get great protection

Favre too
he had all day to throw yesterday.

hope thats not Glenn's fate
for being rusty as well

he usually just falls down
after a catch like that, not sure why he didn't do that there...

I'm a superstitous guy
So I'm doing all my stuff that "makes" the Cowboys win.
Lets go!

WHAT THE EFFF???
there was no holding there, phil lucket blew another call, what a moron...
by Longhorn on Jan 13, 2008 1:28 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
you called it
by scottmaui on Jan 13, 2008 1:34 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
OMG - Cromartie
what a play, that was amazing. and right after they'd mentioned his name.
I'd like to see the hold that was called. i hope it wasn't bogus. i wish that play had stood, not because I'm rooting for SC, but just bc it would be a better game.
by scottmaui on Jan 13, 2008 1:30 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
yeah, he owns Manning
and to think we could have drafted him over Carpenter

+1
him over carp, merriman over ware, castillo over spears, norv over wade, SD has done alot of the things i wanted dallas to do...
good, boomer calls out phil lucket...
by Longhorn on Jan 13, 2008 1:34 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Merriman over Ware????
Your insane! Merriman is nothing without his steroid injection whereas Ware in the top linebacker in the league.
by Philosopher on Jan 13, 2008 1:36 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Not everything hasn't not worked out
Ware and Wade have worked out well.
by goodjobtimmyheresabluestar on Jan 13, 2008 1:36 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Ware's much better than Merriman
by Terry on Jan 13, 2008 1:40 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
No
he's not. Both are good, not sure how you can say that Ware is 'much better' unless you are a homer...
by Longhorn on Jan 13, 2008 1:43 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
he is much better, Merriman is way overrated
by Terry on Jan 13, 2008 1:47 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
yeah
it's easier just to say you are a homer.
by Longhorn on Jan 13, 2008 1:50 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
its easier for you to admit
you have no idea what you're talking about. Merriman might come close to Ware when he's on 'roids, otherwise he's no where near Ware. This season proved as much.
Dude, Ware is the best defensive player in the league, as an alleged Cowboys fan you should know that.
by Terry on Jan 13, 2008 1:53 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
okay
17 sacks in a season where he lost 4 games. yeah, that's not good.
Also, Merriman has more Sacks and more PDs than Ware, but Ware is 'much better'...
Definition of a homer.
by Longhorn on Jan 13, 2008 1:56 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
on 'roids, Ware would have 25 sacks
definition of "I don't know that much"
by Terry on Jan 13, 2008 1:58 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Wrong again.
But, a bleeding homer is a bleeding homer...can't force those homer glasses off of ya...
Take care.
by Longhorn on Jan 13, 2008 2:00 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
face it longhorn, you're the only one
on this blog that thinks Merriman is as good as Ware, that goes to show you you're wrong and an anti-homer.
BTW, you're going to find Cowboys homers on this site, if you don't like it, then leave.
by Terry on Jan 13, 2008 2:04 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
No
Ware can play in coverage and plays the run VERY well. Merriman is a pass rusher, plan and simple.
by ChrisRichey on Jan 13, 2008 1:50 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
hmm
really? You do know that Merriman has more PDs than Ware, right?
by Longhorn on Jan 13, 2008 1:52 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Heh, it seems like
immediately after a player's name gets mentioned, that particular guy almost always makes a big play.
by Nelson on Jan 13, 2008 1:31 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Boomer
Dallas can beat Pats if they play like they played earlier in the year.

If Indy wins this one & the Boys win
this afternoon, Romo will be the only QB in the mix who hasn't won a SB.

I'm Wolf3909, check the site everyday, but just now made a screenname for it. I'm pumped so let's get it going, baby. LET'S GO COWBOYS!!! Yuh YUH!!! Get ready for the Barbarian to have a great game and Romo to be back to the Romo of old. WOOOOOO!!!

Huge play by Sproles
by Dave Halprin on Jan 13, 2008 2:21 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Sproles TD = Felix Jones photocopy
That is the type of play a Felix Jones / Jamaal Charles type RB could bring to our offense.

I take it back.
San Diego is most certainly NOT being schooled.

Chargers Just Have the Colts Number
They're 10-3 lifetime against them on the road. Doesn't seem to matter whether the Colts are a better team or not.

You can feel the hate
even the kid wearing the Patriots jersey gets booed.
by Nelson on Jan 13, 2008 2:27 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Oh man that's awesome
The 15 year old girl who won the NFL Punt Pass Kick competition was recognized at the Colts game, and got booed by the crowd because she was wearing a Patriots jersey.
I'm normally not a fan of booing 15 year olds, but that was perfect.
by BrodyV on Jan 13, 2008 2:27 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
These ref's suck...
I sure hope they don't cover our game next week..or the superbowl...
by BoyzRback07 on Jan 13, 2008 2:29 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Ditto.
If ref's are going to screw up, I'd rather them call too few penalties than two many.
This was classic:
- Manning slightly over-throwing Wayne, but Wayne getting a phantom interference call. Indy moves up 25 yards for an incomplete pass.
- Manning completes a 15 yard pass to Clark. Play is called back because RT Diem gets his hands up too high on the DE, knocks him on the helmet, and he falls down. 15 yard penalty, wipe out the pass, 1st and 25.
- Drayton Florence grabs some of a Colt's WR's jersey on an incomplete pass as he was making his cut. 5 yard holding, automatic 1st down.
So in the end, the Colts got a 1st down basically. Moved up 10 yards and got a new set of downs. But it was accomplished by 3 penalties.
by GhettoBear04 on Jan 13, 2008 2:52 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
there's the Drayton Florence everyone wants
to sign, told you he sucks. 2 holding penalties so far.
by Terry on Jan 13, 2008 2:31 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
He's lost some money today
by goodjobtimmyheresabluestar on Jan 13, 2008 2:48 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I don't want Florence..I want Samuels or....
We break the bank for Asante Samuels of New England, or Nnamdi Asomugha of Oakland...Would give us the best secondary in the league, would almost certainly increase our sack totals, and put us in the top 3 defenses in the league...To top it off, It can easily happen, we are well under the cap to aquire either one.
by BoyzRback07 on Jan 13, 2008 2:49 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I like the idea of
Asomugha if we can get him for cheaper than Samuels. Samuels is going to get huge money. He's a top 5 CB, but it's no like he's Bailey in his prime.
Too bad this CB class isn't next years (which is when I think Henry's contract ends). We'll see. Either way, the secondary needs to be addressed.
by GhettoBear04 on Jan 13, 2008 2:57 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Another terrible call...The play is stopped once
That guy recovered the kick at the 4 and took 3-4 steps with momentum..The whistle should have been blown as soon as he had possession....bogus call...once again...these ref's suck.
by BoyzRback07 on Jan 13, 2008 2:35 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
what is the rule?
I thought they had to actually down the ball, if their momentum carries them into the EZ, it's a TB.
by scottmaui on Jan 13, 2008 2:37 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
nahh..i never seen a player "down" a ball before
If that was an interception, and momentum had carried him into the endzone...the play would have been brought back out to where the player initially gained control of the ball...I can't say I know the actual rule. But this player had control, took 3-4 steps, then handed off to another player, who happened to be on the line....IMO the play should have been whistled the moment the player took control of the ball.
If that wasn't the case, what would stop a kicking team player from catching the ball and advancing it 5-10-15 yards futher ??? think about it......it's bogus...you don't need to stop and kneel to have the play whistled dead...you just need to gain control. This officiating crew has done poorly, and more than likely will be graded poorly by supervisor and not be given another game to oversee...
by BoyzRback07 on Jan 13, 2008 2:45 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
They ruled correctly
The rule is: If a member of the kicking team attempting to down the ball on or inside opponent’s 5-yard line carries the ball into the end zone, it is a touchback.
His foot touched the goal line while he had the ball.

T.O. big entrance
Breer says T.O. has not yet appeared on the field with the other players for pre-pre-game warmups, but he's expecting "some kind of contrived Willis Reed entrance here from T.O."
by scottmaui on Jan 13, 2008 2:39 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
that would be Florence's work
by Terry on Jan 13, 2008 2:42 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
nice play - he was right on the line
won't be overturned i don't think
by scottmaui on Jan 13, 2008 2:43 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
T.O. makes grand entrance
The Original 81 bolted out of the tunnel and took a pre-victory lap around the field, letting folks on all sides of Texas Stadium scream their hearts out for him.
T.O. showed no sign of a limp, but he doesn't appear to be at full speed. A TV cameraman was able to keep up with him for the first 100 yards.
T.O. looks fine coming out of his breaks and hasn't dropped a pass from assistant equipment manager Mike Kurowski yet.

no part-time refs!
I understand that the prospect of requiring full time officials is coming up in the off season. Most of these guys are lawyers, insurance salesmen, teachers, etc.
