Pittsburgh's going down tonight!

I Think So, Too

Jacksonville might well be the third best team in the AFC.  They can give the Patriots fits.

against either opponenet if we come to play which I fully expect we will.

My best friend is a Steelers fan

We both started watching football around 76 when Dallas and Pittsburg were both dominant teams, so even though I used to think of them as a major rival, now I find myself rooting for them, and my friend roots for Dallas, all else being equal.

Redskins Season Over!

Never ever gets old watching Washington lose! All the more sweet if it comes in a playoff game. I'd like our road to the Super Bowl to be Tampa Bay next week, then Seattle the week after if they can pull off the upset at Green Bay next week.

just run on 9 guys in the box?  For 8 yards?

I hope Pitt scores now

just to keep the game interesting

by scottmaui on Jan 5, 2008 8:37 PM CST reply actions

Nope

Roth is a great QB. Look at his record, check his stats and notice his ring. And when that fails, watch him play. He's a great pro QB.

Tonight he is forced to try to do too much. That's Pitt's only hope. Unfortunately, the Jags are too much for them tonight.

by llutherr on Jan 5, 2008 8:53 PM CST up reply actions

He's a great QB

when he has a strong running game.  He is not a Favre type who can take the game on his shoulders and pull out the win.

by Billito on Jan 5, 2008 8:58 PM CST reply actions

Agreed

He's a very good QB about on the level of Romo.  He's hampered by the injury to Willie Parker, but when his team is healthy, he's one of the best in the league.

by kindablue on Jan 5, 2008 9:02 PM CST up reply actions

no way

Romo is a much better qb than Big Ben, its not even close.

In Romo we Trust

by Terry on Jan 5, 2008 9:05 PM CST up reply actions

they are somewhat similar

in how they can elude sacks and extend the play with their legs and throws, but Ben does it more through strength and Tony more through dexterity. Bed has his off nights, but overall I think he's among the best.

and Ben is more dangerous as a scrambler

because of his size and strength

by scottmaui on Jan 5, 2008 9:21 PM CST up reply actions

Much More?

Roethlisberger and Romo have comparable career completion percentages, and Ben was higher than Romo this year.

Saying Romo is much more accurate is just nonsense.

by kindablue on Jan 5, 2008 10:52 PM CST up reply actions

whos got the ring ????????

you can say that after Romo get one

by Arkcowboys on Jan 5, 2008 9:18 PM CST up reply actions

Ben got his ring inspite of his bad play

in SB XL. Worst qb rating ever by a SB winning qb. Steelers definitely won that SB in spite of him.

In Romo we Trust

by Terry on Jan 5, 2008 9:21 PM CST up reply actions

They are putting the game

in Roethlisberger's hands now, and he isn't doing well.

by DaveTroll on Jan 5, 2008 9:25 PM CST up reply actions

exactly my point

Romo can put the team on his shoulders and win, Ben can't. He needs a great defense and running game to succeed.

In Romo we Trust

by Terry on Jan 5, 2008 9:26 PM CST up reply actions

That's what I'm talking about Terry

Romo can put the team on his shoulders and win

He has got to do that in the playoffs to be the QB we all believe he is.

by Billito on Jan 5, 2008 9:29 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah

I expect Roth and Romo to be in the top 5 for several years. Right now P. Manning and Brady are ahead of them, but they will age. Roth and Romo should be good for a long time.

by llutherr on Jan 5, 2008 9:07 PM CST up reply actions

Romo is a much better player when he's on

but because he is still young and hasn't proven himself in the playoffs, he still leaves some doubt about how he'll do in the really big games.  I love Romo and have a lot of faith in him but just from the parallels of this season and last season as far as fading down the stretch, I am nervous about next week's game.  Terry, you have amazing faith in Romo and you have been right most of the time but I am just not there yet.  Let's hope we are singing Romo and the Cowboy's praises through early february.

by Billito on Jan 5, 2008 9:10 PM CST reply actions

I have to say

I am very impressed with Garrard and especially playing this well in a road playoff game.

by Billito on Jan 5, 2008 9:16 PM CST reply actions

.

Garrard is in my top 5 with Manning, Brady, Romo, and Roth.

These guys can flat play.

But Romo is my fav ... thus the most exciting by rule!
