Rooting for Tampa Bay
I don't want to have to beat the Giants for a third time. I think this game will be close.
by kindablue on Jan 6, 2008 11:50 AM CST reply actions 0 recs
I'd rather face Eli than Garcia anytime
by Terry on Jan 6, 2008 11:55 AM CST up reply actions 0 recs
i'd rather face the bucs D than the Giants D ,
which has been strong lately
by TrueBlue24 on Jan 6, 2008 12:15 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
They're both good teams
but we're better than both
by scottmaui on Jan 6, 2008 12:17 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
exactly, if we play our game, we beat them both

If T.O. is back
by Mullin on Jan 6, 2008 12:20 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
along with Glenn
both at anywhere near full capacity
by scottmaui on Jan 6, 2008 12:21 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
that should be a given

Gotta love Troy commentating
He does a great job
by Mullin on Jan 6, 2008 12:10 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I agree, he's definitely the best in the biz
by Terry on Jan 6, 2008 12:12 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
And he criticizes Dallas
Most former greats don't criticize their team ie Jerome Bettis, Terry Bradshaw, etc...
by Mullin on Jan 6, 2008 12:14 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
troy goes to extremes
just to try and prove that he doesn't show favoratism towards the BOYZ
by TrueBlue24 on Jan 6, 2008 12:17 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
He isn't a homer like most announcers
by Mullin on Jan 6, 2008 12:17 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I could do without
his partner joe buck though!
by TrueBlue24 on Jan 6, 2008 12:20 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I disagree, I think Buck is second best
play by play announcer in football right behing Al Michaels.
by Terry on Jan 6, 2008 12:21 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I like Joe Buck alot.. better than
Kenny albert and every CBS guy
by thebigham on Jan 6, 2008 12:30 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
His clubhouse interview a few weeks ago
was interesting because he was able to express his opinions about his former team that he usually can't as a commentator, and he had very high praise for Romo and this team.
by scottmaui on Jan 6, 2008 12:20 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
agreed,that was
a very interesting interview!

by Terry on Jan 6, 2008 12:32 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Didn't Garcia beat up on us a few times
when he was with the Iggles?
by Wharter on Jan 6, 2008 12:50 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
If we do play Tampa
I hope nobody digs out that ancient storyline of Garcia and Owens' tenure in SF. Ugh.
by Nelson on Jan 6, 2008 12:31 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
haha!
you know they will!
by TrueBlue24 on Jan 6, 2008 12:33 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Thats all we'll hear about all week
T.O and Garcia so if Tampa wins prepare yourself
by 703Cowboys on Jan 6, 2008 12:33 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Bucs up 7-0
Looking good so far!
by TrueBlue24 on Jan 6, 2008 12:35 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Tampa's D scares me far, far more
than the Giants D does. Tampa ended the year with the number 2 ranked defense in the league. Add to that a QB in Garcia who doesn't make many mistakes and who will have success against our secondary, I would much rather play the Giants.
by Philosopher on Jan 6, 2008 12:37 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Tampa
hasn't seen us this year. We've beaten the giants twice.Plus the giants have nowhere near the O-line we have OR the weapons on offense.
I'll take my chances against the bucs!
by TrueBlue24 on Jan 6, 2008 12:43 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
no defense should scare you
by Terry on Jan 6, 2008 12:47 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Really?
Since we couldn't even score a TD in 2 out of our last 3 games, and our leading WR has a bad ankle, there are few D's in the playoffs that certainly scare me. The Bucs D is one of them.
by Philosopher on Jan 6, 2008 12:49 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
that isn't going to be the same Cowboys team
that shows up next week and T.O. will be fine.
by Terry on Jan 6, 2008 12:52 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
thats because they are playing stop the run
They want eli to beat him i dont think they will be doing that against dallas. Because of TO and witten let alone TG. I would much rather play the bucs because of the fact its hard enought o beat a team twice in one year let alone 3times. Bucs havent watched flim on us all year probably the giants players could be like remember last time we played them they did this yeah we can fix that blah blah
by thebigham on Jan 6, 2008 12:50 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs

Giants make a first down!
amazing!
by scottmaui on Jan 6, 2008 12:48 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I think the Bucs are dispelling the myth that
you need to be playing well going into the playoffs after they lost their last two games in the regular season.
They look like a different team today and I think you'll see the same thing from the Cowboys next week as well.
by Terry on Jan 6, 2008 12:51 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
For Teams That Have Won Super Bowls
It's no myth. The evidence is overwhelming. The closest thing to an exception the last twenty years is last years' Colts team. Even then, they won their final regular season game.
And the case you were trying to make for the Bucs isn't looking so hot now, either.
by kindablue on Jan 6, 2008 1:47 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
G-men get back in it
we got a game
by Dave Halprin on Jan 6, 2008 12:56 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
win or lose
The Giants absolutely did the right thing in playing their starters last week (even considering the injuries). That team (and Eli especially) needed confidence going into the playoffs. I'm sure taking the Patriots to the limit helped them more than it hurt.
by Nelson on Jan 6, 2008 1:00 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
No matter who wins
I only hope it is a struggle and hard fought!
by TrueBlue24 on Jan 6, 2008 1:03 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
yeah, it would be nice if they beat each other up
by Terry on Jan 6, 2008 1:04 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
my thoughts exactly!
by TrueBlue24 on Jan 6, 2008 1:04 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Bucs
look like a lethargic team right now.
by Longhorn on Jan 6, 2008 1:08 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
yeah, they were great out of the gate
but they look a little slow now!

Tampa Bay finally got smart
and started giving it to Graham.

Haha

neither of these QBs are half as good as Romo
by Terry on Jan 6, 2008 2:02 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Damn...
every time you think Manning's going to finally tank it.
by Pete on Jan 6, 2008 2:11 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Tampa breaking down...
NY's not overly impressing me, just seems like they're outlasting the Bucs...
by Pete on Jan 6, 2008 2:17 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
yeah, neither team looks impressive
by Terry on Jan 6, 2008 2:20 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
If the Bucs are going to let the Giants
beat then; at least they can take Jacobs out with an ankle sprain or such. We'd sure appreciate it!

Unless something drastic happens...
NYG vs DAL next week
by Mullin on Jan 6, 2008 2:19 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I'm glad, we have their number
we're in Eli's head

What a Drive
Kindablue writes "game over" in his notebook.
Dallas versus the Giants next week...the matchup I didn't want.
by kindablue on Jan 6, 2008 2:22 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
That looked like the end
Dallas and NY for a 3rd time (unless they absolutely collapse)
by Dave Halprin on Jan 6, 2008 2:23 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
how many times
has one team beaten another team 3 times in one season
by Jordan2 on Jan 6, 2008 2:26 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I have no idea
but I'm pretty sure it hasn't happened often. Yikes. The Cowboys better be ready, because we've got yet another date with the Endless Trash-Talkers!
by Nelson on Jan 6, 2008 2:28 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
i'd have to say not often
but i'd love for someone to actually come up with some stats on it!
by TrueBlue24 on Jan 6, 2008 2:29 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I didnt dig too deep...
Pittsburgh beat Cleveland 3 times in 1994 and the packers beat Tampa 3 times in 1997
by 703Cowboys on Jan 6, 2008 2:55 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
How could the Packers beat Tampa 3 times?
They aren't in the same division. Did they beat them in pre-season?
by Philosopher on Jan 6, 2008 2:58 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
that was in 1997 before the realignment
by 703Cowboys on Jan 6, 2008 3:00 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Yea, that's right
they were in the same division back then.
by Philosopher on Jan 6, 2008 3:01 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Packers and Bucs were both in NFC Central
before the NFL realigned a few years back. You must be a youngin.
by Terry on Jan 6, 2008 3:00 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Nope
Not young.
Just seems like the realignment was a long time ago. And I always want to switch TB with St. Louis and put in the Central for some reason.
by Philosopher on Jan 6, 2008 3:03 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Game over man, game over
Gints try for a 3rd time to beat the Boys. I hope our O-line has fixed their problems during the bye week.
by APerfectStar on Jan 6, 2008 2:28 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Whoever wins will be beat up.
These teams are going at it and the heat isnt helping. This shows the reason why the bye week in the playoffs is such a good thing.
by thebigham on Jan 6, 2008 2:41 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Yeah
The Gints are beat up, and going all out in a meaningless game against the Pats certainly didn't help them. Moral victory my butt.
Their team is going to be limping in to Texas Stadium next Sunday.
by APerfectStar on Jan 6, 2008 2:45 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
yeah, since Eli played decent today, that means
he'll play like crap next week.
by Terry on Jan 6, 2008 2:47 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I don't think...
he'll have as many NY fans cheering for him next week, that's for sure..
by Pete on Jan 6, 2008 2:53 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
no way will Eli play 3 good games in a row
or out play Romo for that matter.
by Terry on Jan 6, 2008 2:59 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Unless all of those Red Wing fans at the Stars'
game stay over and don NYG jerseys :-D
by Wharter on Jan 6, 2008 3:08 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
First time Cowboys vs. Giants in playoffs
they've never met in the postseason before
by scottmaui on Jan 6, 2008 3:01 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
they haven't?
wow.
by Nelson on Jan 6, 2008 3:04 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Perhaps I am wrong
but the Giants don't scare me. Of course, if we play like we did in December, we are gonna lose. But if we can recapture that November magic we had going, with the addition of Glenn, the Giants will be a speedbump and nothing more.
by Philosopher on Jan 6, 2008 3:05 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I agree
I feel pretty good about this. The Giants have been playing well lately, while we haven't, but Eli was certainly slow getting started today and the Giants didn't look overwhelming, for sure. And they are beat up some, while we are well rested. If Glenn and TO are even close to full capacity, I think we can tear them up. It really just depends on how in sync and zoned into the game the Boys are. We have seen their awesome potential, which includes to beating the Giants twice. You are exactly right, if we see the Boys of most of the first 3/4 of the season, we should be quite able to handle the Giants.
by scottmaui on Jan 6, 2008 3:12 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I'll bet that the Boys have a huge chip on their
shoulder going into next weeks game.
by Wharter on Jan 6, 2008 3:10 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Yeah
In a sense it is good to be in position at this point not to be expected to win but to have something to prove, and also to not be overconfident so they prepare and play with full intensity.
by scottmaui on Jan 6, 2008 3:15 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Plus Shockey is out
and he usually has big games against the boys
