Could it be true????

I heard on TV that this will be the first ever post-season meeting between the Giants and Cowboys.

Star-divide

I tried to remember an NY-DAL playoff game and couldn't.  If true, that was a piece of trivia I didn't know.

Which Team has Dallas never met in the playoffs

a. Panthers
b. Broncos
c. Giants
d. Vikings

Given that, I would have been able to narrow it down pretty easily, but the non-'Boys fan probably would not.

I find it unbelievable

that we've never played the giants in the post season

I think its because prior to the last realignment

in the NFL, there was a rule that divisional teams were not allowed to play against each other in the divisional playoffs, they could only play against each other in the conference championship game.

I don't recal that rule.

We played against the Eagles in the divisional round in 1992 and we played against the Cardinals in the Wild Card round in 1998.  Both of those were NFC East teams at the time.

I think the main reason is that during the '70's the Giants stank so they were never in the playoffs.  In the mid to late 80's when the Giants became playoff mainstays we were dogmeat.

It just seems that our fortunes have been dichotimus for most of our team's history.
