Roy Williams Watch - DONE DEAL!!!

Apparently the Cowboys have made a play at WR Roy Williams...

Schefter also reports that the Cowboys have made an offer, but so far they haven’t offered enough to make the Lions pull the trigger. The Lions have apparently said they want more than a first-round draft pick.

So who else would Jerry need to throw in...Crayton? Austin? Stanback? Think we'd all agree that this would be a huge (and helpful) trade.

LET'S GO JERRY! Do that thing that you do so well!!!

DONE DEAL!!! Welcome to the Cowboys Roy!

The Detroit Lions have traded wide receiver Roy Williams to the Dallas Cowboys.

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the trade was made today, just before the NFL trade deadline.

do it!

I’d be fine with them giving up a 1st and 3rd, or a 1st and one of our WR’s like Miles Austin. I think Crayton is ver good in the slot, so I’d rather keep him over Austin.

they probably want Ware

don’t do it Jerry, please don’t do it!

i will NEVER forgive Jerry Jones if he trades D-Ware to Detroit in an effort to get Motown Roy.

No way

Ware is worth WAAAAYYYY more than Williams and is indespensible. A first round pick is pretty steep for a guy that will be a FA after this season, in my opinion.

No way we give them Ware

If we gave them Ware I’d want RW and their 1st round pick……and maybe more. Ware is one of the top 5 defensive players in the game, now way we trade him for a guy that everyone is call a late 1st value. Like I said, I’d give up a first and maybe a 3rd or one of our WR’s if that was what the Lions wanted.

da King needs to know that he has the upper hand here

How?

Because the Motown Roy has had a sub-par season, and they will not get a better offer than a first-round draft pick.

If Detroit doesn’t end up trading their Roy Williams — or if they have to settle for receiving something lesser than what the Cowboys offered — they’ll again be the laughing stock of the league for being too greedy and ending up with the shorter end of the stick.

Hmm if they want more than a 1st

I’d almost rather take my chances on getting a 1st round talent out of next years draft crop

especially since we have two 3rd round draft picks in the ’09 draft.

if they want a current player on the Boyz roster — in addition to a first and third — let’s throw in Barbie Carpenter…

so very true quincyyyy.....Julius Jones is having a 1,200+ yard season...which would warrant a 3rd rounder in compensation...

Even though there are conflicting reports that we’ve given up a 1st , a 3rd, and a 6th….which i think was too much, btw….anyhow….that still leaves us with a 2nd, 2 -3rd’s, maybe a couple -4th’s ?, 2 -5th’s, a 6th, and 2 7th’s….LOL..i think….either way…Jerry Jones just put together one of the best offensive units of all time…….Maybe a month from now Romo will rediscover his mojo, Felix will be running on all cylinders, and Kosier will hopefully have a few games under his belt ….the stretch drive is sure going to be interesting………

I'd be a little nervous giving up that much

given the way this team is looking as of late. I know Roy is a talented receiver but he’s only had one season over 1,000 yards in 5 seasons, mostly because he can’t stay healthy

by sublimezg on Oct 14, 2008 2:35 PM CDT up reply actions

Mostly because he plays in Detroit

I feel like he is more of a sure thing than whoever we could draft with the 1st and 3rd rounder. At the very least he is a good number 2 that can take the pressure off Owens, something we need right now.

One things clear

he’d be a major upgrade over Crayton.

A 1st and a 3rd is really big price to pay.

I think I would rather wait till the offseason to either sign him or Housmanzadeh
