Roy Williams a Cowboy
According to Adam Schefter on NFLN, we just aquired Roy W from the Lions. No link yet, but he did say that it was for a 1st rounder and something else, though the terms have not yet been disclosed.

I got wood!
I really do. We just have to ease him into the offense over the next 3 weeks, then maybe Romo comes back and teams pay for trying to double TO.
+1
I would be happy for this trade if this can just help TO get open now. I’m not sure how effective RW will be the next few weeks, until he gets comfortable in the offense and with the playbook.
"So you can’t stiff arm at all? What about the throat?"- Marion "Barbarian" Barber
I here ya, ten steps and cut inside or just run a post or flag
shit even I understand that!
I think we paid way to much for him.
Granted, RW is a good player, but he’s not the elite receiver people make him out to be. His stats show that. I guess I’ll never understand how we trade more for a guy like that than a perennial All-Pro like Jason Taylor fetched. Leave it to Jerry to get greedy and overpay like usual.
I'm not saying Roy is all world,
but have you seen his QB’s lately?

I get that,
but when the last few years you’ve been on a team throwing the ball 50 times a game, in a supposedly offensive genius’ system, you should be able to put up some kind of great numbers if you’re a great receiver. I just think we paid a steep price, especially when we could have added a player considering our wealth of mediocre receivers.

mand...huh ??

huh ??? that makes ummm..no sense ?
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
"If you don’t take him off the field as a coach, he will just about die out there," Jerry Jones said. "That impacted my decision. It’s a Michael Irvin-type work ethic. That’s what we are talking about with Felix Jones."
- Owner/G.M of the Dallas Cowboys , Jerry Jones
I was saying
we could have dealt one of our 4 mediocre receivers to eliminate what it would cost us in the draft. It’s not as though we could possibly use all four of them, especially considering after this year at least one of them is going to have to go anyway.

First of all, Jason taylor is old
Second, wasn’t Roy a Pro Bowler last year?
And no, I’m not a Longhorn fan.
Because Jason Taylor is retiring after this year
Roy Williams is 26.
I agree that we paid too much, in terms of his circumstances, but now that he’s signed for 5 more years, it’s looking better. Might be too much in a vacuum but for this team with the week they’ve been having, I don’t know that it’s not a good deal.
It's worth it..
Are you serious? The guy is a beast.
Having a terrible QB is bad, but having a line who can’t block for terrible QB is nearly impossible.. Look at Chad and TJ this season. Carson is banged up and has no time..
It was worth price tag to keep him away from Philly!!

The guy's a beast?
He wasn’t even the best receiver on his team in DET, and now we’re going to pay him as much as the 2 best receivers in the game (Moss, TO). It makes absolutely no sense. My only hope is that since he’s still fairly young, he hasn’t peaked yet. And I don’t buy the argument that he didn’t put up numbers. Kitna was decent still when he first came to DET. They threw the ball 50 times a game. If he’s truly a great receiver, he should be able to get it done. I get that a great QB and line make better numbers, but if you’re truly an elite player, you should still be able to produce great numbers. Great receivers can make average QB’s look great. See Randy Moss in MIN.

In the end I don't think the price will be too steep
We basically gave up a 1st, 4th, and 6th for him.
The 3rd was from giving up our 4th in the 08 draft. The 6th came from Pacman getting suspended.
