Does Romo Splint And Play Or Sit Out? Poll.
Romo got a phone call from Brett...that had to be cool. One of the things Brett told Romo was to do everything possible to avoid the sideline...
"The only thing I said was, it's worth trying [to play] if you can deal with the pain and can function good enough with a splint,'' Favre said. "If not, don't try.''
So. Considering that the injury does NOT need surgery. Considering the huge trade that Jerry just pulled off to bring in Roy Williams. Considering our question marked D and the need to put up mucho points to protect them. Considering how much is on the line this season. What would you like to see Romo do? Speak to me.

I propose another category...
I suggest he sit out against the Rams, and possibly against the Bucs.
But I believe that if there is any chance he can be back in time for the Giants game, we could really use him to play.
So I say, sit out a week or two, then splint it and play.
Yep
It’s a divisional game. If there’s any way, and if he throw with accuracy, I say give it a shot.
Of course I say this without having seen how this offense looks with Johnson.
Let it heal correctly
If it doesn’t heal correctly and he takes a hit again, it would mean a longer stay away from the game and possible surgery

makes sense
I have two feelings.. If we are 2-0 stay away, if we are 1-1 or 0-2 let’s see what he can do.

Some people heal faster than others
But let the bone heal right and go from there

Yeah, we know how Favre did it.
The last thing we need is Romo addicted to Vicodin.

Farve had the same injury last year (against us) and continued to play....but...
with the way Romo has been playing, i’d actually like to see him sit a few games, and absorb the defenses from the sidelines, and maybe learn more about what the defenses are doing against us, finding the right reads, see who’s getting open, where the soft spots are, get a better feel for managing the game through Brad……Of course with Roy aboard, He’ll get a first hand view of how he seperates, how he runs his routes, etc…..I’d like to see him back for the Giants myself, as the pinky is the least important digit when it comes to throwing the ball…..I think we should get by St Louis and Tampa without Tony……..but who knows, the way we’re playing, I have no clue what’s up with this team anymore…Adam Jones loss will hurt us more than i’d like to imagine….time to pull a NYG, and rush the house, and let our suspect secondary grow some nuts………
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
"If you don’t take him off the field as a coach, he will just about die out there," Jerry Jones said. "That impacted my decision. It’s a Michael Irvin-type work ethic. That’s what we are talking about with Felix Jones."

i thought his was a arm/elbow injury?

romo has to sit
But I saw Brad in preseason and he can only make 40% of the throws required in this offense.
Garrett will have to run a more precise, timing based offense that has Johnson dropping back 3 steps and getting rid of the ball. If the run game can really start to click, he can attempt some 5 and 7 step drops.
"Well, we didn't block real good but we made up for it by not tackling."

Having experienced a broken pinky...
I say give him a minimum 2 weeks. If we can’t get past St. Louis without him were in deep doo-doo anyway. While I think Tampa will require a more aggressive passing game, I think Brad is capable of driving the bus for us. Capt. Checkdown can make an ugly offense look a little better(kinda like using a veil). If Tony can grip it and rip it for the Giants I say give him a shot.
Contrary to what some may think, the pinky is very necessary for accuracy. We’re going to have to lean on the defense, and they are having health and and probation troubles(way to go Pacman…yeah I called you Pacman, you’re acting like him). Suck it up Boys, your moment of truth is here. You’ll either rise as champions do, or fail like most everybody else.
I believe they will rise to the occasion, and when it’s all said and done….we can tell everyone else “We were right, and you were wrong, ha ha”.
To me, it felt like Favre was calling him out.
How did the press even know that Favre called him. I bet guys in this league call each other all of the time. I think Favre called him to challenge him, and then told the press to make sure that challenge was heard. I think it’s Favre’s way of saying, “Look, kid, here’s your chance to really be the leader of this team. They need you. Show them what you’re made of.” It’s classic motivation – I think you’re tough enough, I believe in you, but it’s up to you.
I don’t know if that’s what Tony should do, since I’m not him or his doctor, but that’s the way I read it. I could be completely wrong about Favre’s motivation, too.

It's the Rams dude...
even though they beat the Skins last week (which I’m still laughing about), I think BJ can beat them. Rest a week, and come back for the Bucs. This is risky b/c of their D, but screw it. The Gnats D is better so he’s gonna get smacked around either way. BJ lacks the mobility to beat either one of them IMO.

I personally wouldn't play Tony
until the OL starts protecting better, no sense making it worse.
In Romo we Trust
