Romo is out for about a month. Felix Jones is out about a month. Terence Newman is out about a month. Pacman is suspended about a month but I'm giving up on him (though I do understand him.)
Rams, Bucs, Giant, and the University of BYE (thank God).
I have said many times that no one in the NFC East or AFC North would finish with more than eleven wins since the two divisions will eat their young and beat up on eachother. We see now that the Giants are mortal and I still believe that no one will finish better than 11-5. With that said, if we can somehow get to the bye at 6-3, we would be in pretty good shape. With seven games remaining thereafter, we would need to win probably 5, or maybe just four to get into the dance.
My question is can we do survive the rash of injuries and win 2 of the next three games.
I think Brad Johnson can get it done for a while. Felix Jones would have gone along way to compensate for a reduced deep passing game, but we dont have him either, so hopefully Tashard Choice can keep Marion Barber from having an asthma attack. I like Choice and I think he can get it done.
Hopefully Roy Williams can get into a few offensive packages this week just to mix things up and give Brad some more room to work with. Brad will take the short stuff and all our guys are good after the catch so this might work out. There are just gonna have to be more 3 step drops and quick stuff. Maybe more 2 tight end stuff.
Im actually looking forward to Mike Jenkins taking over for Pacman, he's ready and he's the future. It's time. We wont miss Pacman on punt returns because we dont block anybody anyway. The defense as a whole has got to pick it up a great deal. Especially the front three with the exception of Ratliff.
Im sure we can handle the Rams, but I am less certain that we have a chance to knock off either the Bucs or Giants with so many guys out of the lineup. We've got to find a way, because otherwise we may be buried by the time we get everybody back.
