Damn near teared up watching this

You've all seen it before. It's a good speech. But this time when I watched it, it actually hit me a lot harder than it ever has before. You'll know why after you watch, I think.

Life's a game of inches

I just hope our team can find some form of inspiration that will keep them going 100% for the full 60 minutes of football this weekend. I BELIEVE!!!

C'MON COWBOYS!

If only Wade could pull one of these out.

T.O. was in the locker room for that speech so maybe he can come up with something.

Lots of people shrug off the importance of words,

but as this clip shows, words (and maybe a foot in the a**) are just what people may need to wake them up. If each of you think of your top 10 coaches, no matter who they are, they probably all have one thing in common, the ability to fire up their players. There are different ways to do this, words, confidence from the coach, or maybe just being fired up on the sidelines. A prime example of the difference a coach like that can make is right here in Austin. Will Muschamp took an underperforming, soft Texas defense and has turned it into one of the best in the nation with mainly the same players as the year before. How did this happen? Take a look at some clips of him on the sidelines. At times, that dude looks like he’s about to blow a gasket. That kind of fire is contagious, and it also shames players a bit into performing better. They see this older guy and think to themselves, “if he gets that fired up at his age, then I know I can strap on this helmet and do the same thing being 20 years younger.” That’s the difference a good coach can make, and I’m not seeing that from Wade.

Yep, I agree...words are important and this is one helluva movie speech...

But what makes this and every movie speech so great is the music track. The perfect tune can make a good speech great. Paul Kelly’s “Peace” makes “Inches” what it is.

Wade can pull it off…he just needs a theme song :) Put a Steinway in the locker room, have MB3 tickling the ivory…maybe Columbo backing him up on the acoustic 12 string. Give Wade a theme song and he’ll be fine…every good coach should have one. LOL.

Thanks for the post Sub…I forgot how good this speech is and damn if it ain’t apropos right now…

If you need words to get you ready to play ball you are in the wrong profession.

When I hear you guys always talking about leadership, and motivation I laugh.

I just see like Bradie James standing there, letting a running back whiz by him and him saying, God, I wanna make the tackle but I need someone to lead me!!! Someone inspire me so I can play hard!!!

When you are in a locker room before a game everyone feels like a volcano with a cork in it. You get that way on your own passion and pride, not on some corny ass speech.

Me and my dogs used to crank up that Pastor Troy and work ourselves into a homicidal frenzy before our games, and we were at a small NAIA school, that no one cared about. How can you not get up for a Sunday afternoon?

You guys watch too many movies and clips of Vince Lombardi.

Yea well
Me and my dogs used to crank up that Pastor Troy and work ourselves into a homicidal frenzy before our games

that sounds like a form of inspiration to me. Doesn’t matter how you get it, just that you get it. The Boys seem to lack it all together. Ya dig? Something needs doing, and if you think this team is playing “inspired football”, then you’re kidding yourself.

I didnt say this team is playing inspired football

they are not, Im just saying that they need to look inside themselves rather than wait for a leader.
