Dallas Cowboys news & notes
Brooks Bollinger on being ready to play.
Orlando Scandrick gets some love.
Most previews that I've read the past few days sound a lot like this one.
A little bit of off-topic news. SB Nation, the company I work for and the provider of all the technology and upkeep for this here blog, has grown up a little. We've managed to snag some major funding for the company.
Former AOL programming chief Jim Bankoff has secured a mid-seven-figure sum of venture capital for SB Nation, a startup network of sports blogs, from a group of digital media and technology luminaries
The round of funding was led by Accel Partners, the Silicon Valley private equity firm best known for its backing of Facebook and led in part by Boston Celtics minority owner Jim Breyer. Additional funding came from Allen & Co.; AOL vice chairman emeritus and Washington Capitals owner Ted Leonsis; Brent Jones, former San Francisco 49ers player and now managing director of private equity firm Northgate Capital; former Yahoo! senior executives Dan Rosensweig and Jeff Weiner; and several executives from Providence Equity Partners, the venture capital shop where Bankoff remains a senior adviser.
This is great news for me and for the blog, it not only should assure you guys that BTB and its brethren will be around for a while, but that we'll be able to continually upgrade our platform and aggressively market all of our blogs.
SB Nation co-founder Tyler Blezsinski, who also runs the Athletics Nation, our Oakland A's baseball blog, comments further here. There's another short article about the funding here.
Our own Tuna Helper, masquerading for Halloween under his own name, makes an appearance on the NY Times Fifth Down football blog.
I'm posting this link just to drive some blog members up the wall.
Oh yeah, I got sent an email about a contest with Terence Newman. Click below where I've posted the contents of the email they sent me.
Dreams do come true! Direct Energy just launched an online sweepstakes for one lucky DFW resident to win an Ultimate Cowboys FAN-tasy Experience with Terence Newman. This ultimate prize package includes getting a peak inside the new Cowboys stadium, watching a private practice at Valley Ranch, and passes to hang out at the sidelines before the December 14th game against the Giants. To top it off, the winner and 15 friends will gather for a private party in the Direct Energy suite at Texas Stadium, tour the stadium, then toss a football and run some routes with NFL's leading cornerback, Terence Newman.
The online sweepstakes is open to all Texans living within a 40-mile radius of Texas Stadium. There is no purchase required and you do not have to be a customer of Direct Energy to enter. For entry form, contest rules and details, fans can visit directenergy.com/cowboys.

has really done a good job. I’ve been visiting their sites for a couple of years now and have always been very impressed. Glad to hear they’re getting some more love.

Why do people keep suggesting
that Tony have his finger amputated? He’d miss more time that way than if he just let it heal, and he’d have to re-learn how to throw the ball!
I know it’s not an issue on this blog but all these hero-stories about guys amputating a finger are starting to get really old. I’ve read like ten of them in the last month, and Romo’s name pops up every time. If he were an O-lineman or a fullback or something and this was for the very last spot in the playoffs I might wish he would do it, but in this case it’s a symptom of not knowing the first thing about the situation.
I’m totally driven up the wall. LOL Mission accomplished Grizz.
the nationalpost guy should stop ripping off america's finest sports news source

I work with a 'skins fan
And you know this got forwarded to me right away. Being that it’s the Onion and I can’t get too mad at the Onion, it did crack me up, just because it’s so ridiculous.
only a freakin moron
would suggest that a qb doesn’t need one of his fingers to throw effectively and thats what this Taylor jackazz is, a total freakin’ moron.
