The Nightlife Problem
An edit to a previous Diary called "The Jessica Problem"
I've noticed a problem with my beloved Cowboys, and I wondered if any of you guys on this most excellent of blogs had noticed it too.
Now, I'm not putting the blame on Jessica Simpson, as if she was some totem that causes the Cowboys to play poorly, but I think the root of the problem with the Cowboys recently has been their lack of enthusiasm while playing at home.
On the road, the Cowboys are a dominant team. Something about getting away from Dallas, focusing on nothing but the game while cloistered in a hotel room in the opposing city, makes the Cowboys better players. When they are at home, it's as if they all go out and get hammered out of their minds the night before a game, and just do not show up on Game Day, b/c they are all hung over.
Now, some of you will say that the mark of a Great team is that they can win when they have to, that they can win when they suck. But these Cowboys should have come out and destroyed the Bungles, but instead, they tried to sit on a 17 point lead Parcells-esqe. Garrett's gameplan was better this week, but the box score shows that the leading passer was Carson Palmer, and the leading receiver was TJ Whoseyermama.
Next week, we are @ Arizona, so if my theory is correct, we should blow them out of the water.

Superstitious
If we are going to be superstitious and blame our poor play on factors that dont make sense, we should blame hard knocks too. i strongly feel like they are the reason for our poor play hahaha

The Jessica thing is beyond lame
And aren’t the away blue uni’s cursed and bad luck too?
When people mention Jessica (particularly national commentators) I now automatically assume they are operating with less than a full deck.

Did you even read my FanPost?
I guess I should change the name from “The Jessica Problem,” which, I will admit, was designed to draw people in to read. Maybe it should be called “The Dallas Nightlife Problem” instead?

what evidence do you have
that players actually party before the night of home games besides just your wild speculation?
Its my understanding the team actually stays at a Dallas hotel the night before home games to review game plan and has a curfew.

No evidence, Terry
Just the fact that they do what most teams don’t, ie, win on the road, play poorly at home.
I know Dallas has a nightlife, and in the past, players have been a part of it.

well ,didn't you ever consider
they just focus on the road better than at home and maybe alcohol has absolutely nothing to do with it?
