Stop the Insanity!
Just thought I'd try a different fanpost than the dozen "Romo sucks" ones that were posted in the last 24 hours.
Yesterday's win was ugly, but was a win. Did everyone rake the Giants over the coals when the Bengals took them to OT? Did anyone notice that the Chargers lost yesterday to MIAMI??
I get it, the expectations going into this season were sky high and the cowboys are only playing above average right now. I agree that some of the coaching decisions leave me scratching my head and Romo has got to knock off the brain-fart fumbles and picks before he blows an important game.
But read through the DMN blog and you see a team that is sick of answering to overblown expectations. You see defensive players and coaches who are tired of answering the same questions. I barely skimmed through the fanposts today because they are so negative and whiney that I can't stand to read them.
Go check out TH's latest post. The Cowboys are 4-1 and nothing they do in October will have anything to do with the playoffs. They are in a similar spot to the Giants last year with the media hounding them, players questioning the coaches aloud and a huge amount of doubt in the fanbase. Remember how that turned out?
Just chill fellow BTBers. Enjoy the journey of the cowboys this season and thank the Lord they are not going to go 5-11.

well said
it truly is amazing how many chicken littles there are out there. If you read all the negativity without knowing the outcome of the game yesterday, any reasonably intelligent person would have thought we lost to the bengals by at least 2 TDs.

Well don't say October doesn't affect the playoffs
If we lose it does. These games help decide home field.
But I agree with your main point. The chicken littles actually make me laugh. Don’t stress over them. Let them have their 15 minutes.

last time I checked
home field really didn’t help us last season. Actually you can make an argument that this team plays better on the road than at home as 4 out of their last 5 losses in 2007-08 have been at home.

I'd still rather have home field
What the Giants did last year was very rare.

Home field is good
I just meant that you can’t look at how a team plays in October and correctly extrapolate that out to predict how they will perform in the playoffs.

Some of ya'll knees MUST be in pain..
Because they’re jerking uncontrollably…Look we knew we weren’t a perfect team coming into this game. But you can’t expect everything to be fixed in one week. Everyone knows the Bengals aren’t an 0-5 team. They caught some bad breaks…But we got back to the run. That’s an improvement. Our secondary is playing better. We lined up on the receivers more and while we only had the one pick, we had several pass defs. Pac probably should’ve had 2 himself, picks that is. It’s improving. We still need to pressure the QB (reminds me of Bill Cowher in Gregg Lloyd’s face back in the day (“RUSH THE QB. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? RUSH THE QB”). The kickoff coverage team needs to stay in their lanes, but IT’S FIXABLE. I’ll take Romo’s pick. LB made a nice grab. He probably could’ve put a little more air under it, but hindsight is 20/20, isn’t it. I think our D was so hard-pressed to stop 85 that they forgot about 84. I swear somebody on this blog said that before the game…I think his name started with AikmanNailedMy but I forget haha. It’s a work-in-progress, we can all agree. But let’s relax a little bit. For all the Romo haters, it’s fine. You’re right. Let’s bench his sorry behind and put in Brooks Bollinger? I mean, come on, cut the dude a little slack. He’s a sophomore…And T.O. is crying, so what? Probably because he knows he’s gonna get hounded all week by the media. Not to say he may’ve had it coming. But that’s besides the point. I will give you all a few things that I agree with. Felix is God. I’d like to see an increased workload, so long as he can handle it. Crayton is an awesome #3 receiver. #2? Not so much, although he did bail us out. He owed us after that dropped 30 yard pass over the middle. And Brian Stewart may suffer from head-up-the-*ss syndrome…Like I said, it’s all a work in progress. I don’t want to beat a dead horse, but we have to keep improving. While it may not have been the prettiest win, would you rather have a pretty loss??? Relax, it’s just week 5…deep breaths…

I see what your saying but
Its not so much the actual game that has me worried its a series of turnovers and throws Romo has missed these last 4 games. The only time he looked really sharp this season was against cleveland, where he truly had all day to throw. Even in that game he threw a bonehead pick in the endzone. Last year when he would drop back I would get a feeling something great was going to happen! Now I’m not sure.
Don’t get me wrong Romo is not playing poorly, he’s playing well enough where we can pull these games out in the end, but if we continue to play like that and expect to win in January we wont bottom line. Romo still has my support, but i’d just like to see the trend of turnovers every game end.
