Our Confused Defense
Is it just me or does our defense seem confused all of the time. I hate this zone crap. The last 2 games especially our defensive secondary has seemed very confused.
There was one particular play at the end of the game that 2 guys were on their number 3 or 4 receiver an Houshmanzadah walked into the endzone. Don't we have the talent to just man up and double with a safety every once in a while. Simplify!
I feel like we have a GREAT defense with POOR coaching. I really don't know what Brian Stewart is thinking. I wish we had an Andy Reid style defense. Blitz! Blitz! Blitz! Cause havoc! Force turnovers! and man up with the talented DBs that you have. Yeah, every once in a while you give up a big play, but that's okay because your are creating a lot more turnovers too!

That 2nd Housh TD pissed me off
You could see the confusion before the snap as they were trying to figure out who was going to cover him and then the play went on and he was standing all by himself, able to just walk into the endzone.

Andy Reid runs the offense
Jim Johnson runs their defense.

with Housh...
I think we were SO enveloped in not letting Chad Johnson (yeah, I called him Johnson) in the endzone that we didn’t give a damn about T.J. Personally, I wanted Chad to score so when he went anywhere near the star, he’d have monsters in the form of Tank and Jay Ratliff there to greet him…
AND BTW!!! RATLIFF NEEDS A NICKNAME! HE’S BEEN A BEAST THIS YEAR AND DAMN IT, HE DESERVES SOMETHING GOOD!

Stewart is a Tool
Most underqualified dipstick to coordinate a defense anywhere in the league.
I grit my teeth when I think we could have landed Capers. #$$%&$^%!!!!

When he got picked,
I thought it would be one of those deals where Wade called the plays, but Stewart is the coordinator. I think that’s how Belichick does it. Wade needs to step in and take over the play calling like when Sean Payton was struggling as OC in New York. Go through the rest of this year and help him out, then next year give him another shot at the playcalling.

Going nowhere fast with Stewart
You think our defense is bad now. If we reach the playoffs, and that’s a big if, watch what happens to our defense when the opposing team really sits down and analyzes a game plan to beat us. I think “calebsmith” is 100% right when he says we have a GREAT defense with poor coaching. Stewart has to go…like yesterday. Until the last drive of the game, Palmer had all day back there in the pocket. We have so much talent, on defense, that they should be calling us the Dallas Ravens of the NFC! But with Stewart lack of ingenuity, in the game plan, we will continue to struggle against lower ranked teams like the Bengals.

Didn't Henry
Have a couple of sacks a couple of games ago? What happened to that? Does Hamlin ever blitz?

Not defending Stewart
Believe me I am with you guys in your frustration over how our defense is playing and I am NOT a Stewart fan. What troubles me most is that we frequently have guys out of position and covering the wrong people (or worse yet, covering no one at all). Some of this has to fall on the players to understand their assignments. Is the terminology to complex or do we have good athletes who are not cerebrial enough to remember what they are supposed to do?

I think it has to do with oppostions OC's that know how to dismantle a very soft zone...
by calling routes that counteract the defensive sets, and by knowing where the weakness, and soft spots are in the zones………i hate zones, .unless your blitzing the house..and can get to the QB within 3 seconds….
.It’s simple…..You ever wonder why every receiver corp we’ve played against so far was able to get open ?…yet our WR’s never seem to get open ???? it’s all about calling the right plays…Our OC and DC are simply being outcoached on both sides of the ball.
