T.O.'s Issues
I was just listening to Michael Irvin's show on ESPN 103.3 here in Dallas and they had TO on the show. He mentioned that there was a death in his family this last week and that was the reason for the tears after the TD catch and for the short address to the media.
I feel bad for this guy. Yeah he's a little quirky and egotistical, but he is still human. After being severely criticized and dumped on by the media after the Redskins game and then having a family member pass, I don't blame him for his emotions. ESPN and the other mediots make him out to be some heartless monster with no emotions but for himself. Well, I guess this is my official post saying that TO, we love you man, and you're one of us. I'll be behind you till the end.

TO is a man among men. I love the guy. This is kind of like not disclosing that finger injury he had two years ago, he just let it ride and he did the best he could do. He takes so much abuse from the media when he could have made a big deal about the death issue.
The media seriously needs to give him a break, it is getting old.
Last night Dale Hanson was just railing against TO for thanking god – saying that God must be more concerned with TO than war victims etc… Umm how many athletes thank god all the time? I am so sick of the TO bashing media.
Hanson's a Bitter Bee-yotch
What da heck is wrong with thanking God?
I agree with you, Barrett14, i too am sick of all the TO bashing amongst the moronic mediots…

hmm, interesting
I made a note in a previous thread regarding TO’s demeanor. You could definitely tell something was wrong emotionally with him. He seems genuine with his faith, I am sure God is with him.
maybe the media vultures will get off his back for a while
Nobody in the entire MSM does a little research and finds out about his family’s loss, but they go ahead and criticize him for “avoiding” taking post-game questions. Typical.

No they won't...
His entire family could spontaneously combust and the only thing they’ll talk about it how he dropped a pass or two. T.O. lost that privilege after the Eagles “incidents” and he will no longer get a free pass. Sometimes I love him and other times I hate him, but he’s a Cowboy. He scored a HUGE touchdown, which of course, BSPN downplayed because he only had two catches and they were more concerned with him being included in the offense. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 1,000 times, journalistic integrity has vanished. It’s absolutely disgusting that they would continue to give this guy grief after someone in his family died and he didn’t want to talk to the media. And what did Mosley have to say about it? He made fun of him for crying…Real class act up there in Bristol…

What you said regarding "journalistic integrity"
is why I never got into the field after I got my BA…
There is none.
You’re right, it vanished… and it vanished a seemingly long time ago.

HAHAHA I did the EXACT same thing.
I’ve wanted to be on Sportscenter since I was 5. As of late, I feel like everyone on ESPN is still 5… it’s ridiculous

A long time ago...
I attended a journalism class and was shocked to hear the professor say “It’s not our job to report the facts. It’s our job to shape people’s opinions”. Apparently he was not the only professor who held that belief because we have very few media types who can objectively report on anything (sports or world news).
The Red Ball Express will be rolling this year!
TO

Expect a big week from him..

Wow
where is this story on BSPN? Nowhere, that’s right. Instead they rehash TO’s comments from sunday, wondering aloud if the cowboys are good enough to play through TO’s antics.
I’m glad he’s a cowboy and I’m glad to have gotten a chance to know the “real” TO.
Pat Kirwan chimes in..
he sure does love TO and the Cowboys..
