hand the reigns over to romo...

The cowboys need to be running shotgun against the skins... a lot. We need to come out firing. Romo is a stud qb, he's got the arm, he's got the weapons... it will help protect our line. it will get our weapons on the field. it will open up holes for barber, jones throughout the game... imagine the possibilities.... not only could we pass, we could set up brilliant screens, draws... shoot even dives with mb and tosses/jet sweeps with fj or mb....
Just imagine the idea of sending TO and RW deep on the sides, JW up the seam.. and then boom, fj middle screen or any screen... 20+ yards....

these formations can change through motion, play action, direct snap, etc etc...

actually

I think we’ve become so one dimensional with the deep pass that teams T off on Romo, thus the injury, I say we come out in a base set, throw some slants to our WR’s (who both are great YAC guys) on first down, instead of the obligitory run. Maybe a quick pop pass to JW, throw in a run or a screen, let Romo get into a grove before we have him out there chuckin and duckin, then maybe open it up a little as the game goes on.

true...

i’d at least like to open up in some of these formations, and then audible or switch formations… like in the 5 wide, switch formations to fj and jw in the backfield with romo under center and keep the 3 wide… we need to make it so we don’t always let the defense have time to match up

If Garrett is smart

and we know he is being a Princeton grad, he should put this game into the hands of Romo and let him perform his magic.

I agree Romo operates the best out of the shotgun and we should have him in that formation at least half of the time.

It's not so much

one offensive formation over the other. Or that one way of doing it is necessarily better than the other way. It’s the ability to mix it up. To try different things to keep the other team’s D off balance. Try going into the 2 minute offense every now and then. Romo runs that better than anything. Gotta go back to that innovative, pedal to the metal type offense we had last year. Of course, for that to happen our O-line needs to start blocking like last year.

I want to see the old scrambling making plays with his feet Romo..

I've been calling for this formation (option #1) ALL season !!

RW- outside wide left
TO- inside slot left
JW- split tight right
FJ- split left
MB-split right
TR-Shotgun

I don’t need to be a Princeton grad to realize we can run this formation EVERY single play, and have an open receiver down field, or in the flats, or over the middle….A simple play that can be run in less than 4 seconds, and eliminate any danger of Romo being harmed, or our o line being exploited. FJ & MB can both be kept in to chip block, or be available for dump offs, or delayed draws-dives-sweeps………….Now if Garrett only knew how to keep it simple.

I just hope they run the ball this time

And don’t force feed TO the ball 20 times. That game was Garrett’s low point, IMO. If Romo audibled out of the run too much, Garrett or Wade should have told him to run the play as called.

Keep it balanced between run and pass as much as possible.

I just want to see a nice balanced game

Spread the ball around. We have become easy to game plan for, all you have to do is double TO, and stack the box..

+1 Tom.....To top it off, Garrett throws Romo under the bus, for audibling out of the run plays...

quit making excuses for being out coached already Garrett………Who’s running the Offense anyhow ???….give me a break
