Jerry Jones speaks
IRVING, Texas -- Jerry Jones "absolutely" believes the Dallas Cowboys will make the playoffs, would welcome Adam "Pacman" Jones back to the team if he's reinstated and isn't considering a coaching change.
The Cowboys owner, in an impromptu gathering with reporters during practice Thursday, said he expects his struggling Cowboys to recover. They have gone from Super Bowl favorites to a 5-4 team tied for third place in the NFC East after losing four of their past six games.

i'm glad he's confident, however...
i just wish he wouldn’t be so brash sometimes.
i’d just prefer he took the objective/ “one game at a time” line of speech.
honestly, i think he just sets himself up.
but then again, that’s just me.
i’ll just shut up now.

Yeah I like that Jerry’s the eternal optimist but sometimes, just sometimes, I wish he’d be a bit softer with his mouth.
On the other hand, maybe he’s just trying to let the players know that he fully expects them to lift their play and get into the playoffs and anything less will be disappointing to him… their owner… their employer… the guy who pays their freakin’ wages… you getting the picture underachievers? (And that means you Canty, Tank, Flow, Hatcher, Carpenter, whoever the hell is playing Strong Safety, etc)

nothing wrong in believing in his team
you have to understand, just because Jerry owns the team doesn’t mean he’s not a fan, so as a fan if he believes in his team and wants to tell the world, I have no problem with that at all.
This team needs to regain their confidence and having the owner and GM stating that he believes in them can only help.

+1 Terry
yeah….what Terry said
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
"If you don’t take him off the field as a coach, he will just about die out there," Jerry Jones said. "That impacted my decision. It’s a Michael Irvin-type work ethic. That’s what we are talking about with Felix Jones."

Jerry Shut Up
Are tickets sales down for 2009? Some new suites still empty? Whatever his angle it’s not about this year’s Cowboys, it’s about his bottom line.
If nothing else his mouth is writing some bad checks……

I have to agree
my eyes and ears have seen a lot of sub par football this year from the boys and I don’t need Wade’s “all is well” speeches or Jerry’s blind optimism to cheer me up – I need to see some kick azz ball on sunday night and a W over the hated foreskins.

winning vs bottom line
JJ has certainly made his mistakes over the years – mostly in his role as a GM and not as an owner. He has also had enormous success. But to say that “it’s all about the bottom line” as opposed to winning is flat out wrong. There is no owner or GM in the NFL that is more driven to win than Jerry Jones. You can love him, hate him or fall somewhere inbetween…but to not recognize his obsession for winning and his willingness to do whatever it takes is to not understand the fundamental nature of Jerry Jones and the guiding principles behind the management of the Dallas Cowboys.

+1 Louie....you couldn't ask for a more committed owner to winning than Jerry Jones.

His passion for the Cowboys is unquestioned
But it can be a double-edged sword

dont believe everything you read........
if you watch the actual interview, they asked him if he thought the cowboys could still make the playoffs. he paused, turned and answered “absolutely”
he never said the cowboys would absolutely make the playoffs. BIG difference!!!!!
even without the visual video and the full transcript, if you read the article closely, never is he quoted as saying the cowboys will absolutely make the playoffs as the title suggests.

Should have figured
when I saw the headline on BSPN. Nice to see they haven’t hit bottom yet with their journalistic standards.

I just hope he's right
And I kind of wouldn’t expect him to say anything else. But the results are what count, starting Sunday evening.

I like it when he talks to the press
that means he’s not filming some God-awful commercial. And those who think he’s too involved in the day-to-day operations and telling WP how to run the team – would you rather he let WP keep BJ in the game in NY after halftime?
I commented. You're welcome.

I’m more disappointed in how happy with Wade he seems to be.

I don't think he's happy with Wade
I just think he really wants to have Wade succeed as coach because he knows it will be back to drawing board with this team if he has to fire him and bring in a whole new coaching staff in which the team will have to learn all new schemes, plays, etc.
He doesn’t want to have to clean house with this team unless he has to, which is why he wants Wade to succeed.

and he cant really clean house
at least not without breaching a contract.
he has promised JG he will be the next head coach
and JG has rewarded him by coaching like he just got a long term contract

thats not true
there are absolutely no contractual obligations that require Jerry to hire Garrett as the next HC, they said that after Garrett was re-signed this past off season.

sure hope some sucker team brings Garrett in for another HC interview...Oakland maybe ?
Al Davis might give up some picks for Garrett’s services…..
