I think inside

Troy is a homer. But he intentionally hates on the Boys so everyone will think he’s unbiased. Apparently, Boomer sees right through his clever, little ploy.

Not the perfect game...

…but a great hard fought win. More importantly, they seemed to get better as the game went along. Hellooo Newman!

what did he say

Wow, I love Mike Singletary. If I was rich I'd pay him to follow me around and coach my life. "Get that report done! I won't tolerate slacking!!!", "Do you think the lawn is gong to mow itself? Get out there! GO! GO! GO!"

That would kick ass. - quote from the Internets.

A win is a win

However, don’t get too excited about this victory. The defense looked good, holding them to 10. But look at the Redskin’s last 4 games. They lost to the Steelers, a good team. They barely beat Detroit and Cleveland the 2 games prior to that; 2 bad teams. Prior to that they lost to the Rams. Washington isn’t as good as their record suggested. We need to get some emotion and win the next 2 and gain some confidence for a tough finish.

Make no mistake the skins hate us

they went even as far as to exaggerate portis’s injury as a smoke screen. Grade to MY AZZ, there is no way he had a grade 2. That team was out for blood, and did they sack romo, no, and it was great payback for them ruining our ring of honr game for the triplets.

Ignore the Mainstream Media, EMBRACE THE HATE!!!!

I don't buy your argument

The bottom line is, this was a road division win against a team that was above us in the division. After all we’ve gone through for weeks, this win is HUGE.

by mhuff13 on Nov 16, 2008 10:22 PM CST up reply actions

And on to the next 2 "Must Win" games

because if we can’t beat SF/Seattle we’re in trouble the last 4 games

CB's

I would ove to read Raf’s analysis of the CB play. IMO Newman was a stud, Henry gve up the biggest gain by Washingt and I saw Jenkins make a great play….

by ManTab on Nov 16, 2008 10:22 PM CST reply actions

It just blows my mind how our CB's sat all night with outside leverage,

and WSH kept throwing those quick slants to the inside. You have to sit inside against WCO’s. Especially when you’re playing press coverage.

by Mandmeisterx on Nov 16, 2008 10:25 PM CST up reply actions

That's the kind of pass coverage Wade brought from Diego. Funnels everything into the inside hoping that

1) the LB’s can make a play on the ball, or
2) they pound the sh** out of the WR after they catch the ball.

Parcells played it different. Tried to funnel everything to the outside along the sideline.

by kameleon_o on Nov 16, 2008 10:29 PM CST up reply actions

That worked for him out there because he had Donnie Edwards,

who is one of the best LB’s in the league in coverage. Unfortunately for us, we have Bradie James dropping back, who has the reflexes of road kill. He blows, plain and simple.

we're back in solid playoff contention

but there are 5 teams within one game of each other going for the last wildcard spot

(with Tampa Bay ahead for the first spot)

by scottmaui on Nov 16, 2008 10:23 PM CST reply actions

I disagree

this team is not “solid” until they win the next two

by Realist Larry on Nov 16, 2008 10:24 PM CST up reply actions

Kansas, and the 49er's ripped the Rams, who ripped us...

so the celebration for our team should last until Monday AM

by Realist Larry on Nov 16, 2008 10:23 PM CST reply actions

enjoy it for sure, I am

but its not like we dominated. I agree with others that a win against an NFC East foe, particularly the Redskins, is big and we needed it in the biggest of ways. I still don’t think our offense showed me what I am expecting but the Defense did. Furthermore, some will say we beat a great Redskins team, I’m just saying we beat an average Redskins team, still a good win, but not ready to go crazy on this win…Let’s get to 8-4 and then I’ll be less nervous and we’ll still have a lot of work ahead of us.

One of those 5-5 teams you are looking at is a division leader.

We are the #9 right now.

Division leaders (4)
Giants
Panthers
Cardinals
1 of 3 in the North tied at 5-5

5. Tampa (7-3)
6. Washington (6-4) (5-3 conference)
7. Atlanta (6-4) (4-3 conference)
8. Dallas (6-4) (4-4 conference)
9. Philly (5-4-1)
10/11. 2 NFC North teams at 5-5
