PACMAN JONES REINSTATEMENT?
Anyone heard whether or not he will be considered this week?
I'm of the thought process that if he isn't reinstated over the next two weeks he will not be back this season. I know they are doing the 'water pill' testimonies today, so that will probably take Goodell most of tomorrow and Wednesday.
I'm thinking he gets reinstated for the last four games of the season, but Goodell won't want him on the field for thanksgiving.
thoughts?

It all depends
On whether Roger thinks he has really made the most of the time away

This is how I'm looking at it....
I don’t really care. He is beyond our means right now. We go ahead as if he is not coming back. Then if he does come back, gravy.

It’s out of the Cowboy’s hands. Whatever Goodell decides will dictate what happens. Jerry has already stated Pacman is welcome back if he gets re-instated. The Cowboys are probably planing as if he’s not coming back, but if he does, then like you said, it’s gravy.
JMO, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Goodell lets him twist in the wind for a couple weeks.

Goodell is a joke........
Adam Jones should be playing by next Sunday, Thursday at the latest……He paid his dues….He scrummed a little with a personal body guard for pete’s sake……..Yet Matt Jones, is able to appeal suspension and play after a felony drug charge…nice precedant there Goodell………….There hasn’t been one story about Pacman for a month now, he’s receiving treatment through a league sponsored alcohol treatment facility……suit him up already…..

Yeah thats what bothers me.
Is Matt Jones is allowed to appeal his suspension even though the charges against him are significantly worse.
by houseofprime on Nov 17, 2008 5:23 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Adam's problem isn't the crime
it’s the number of times he’s been involved, plus his suspension was due to alcohol, not the fight, although that didn’t help his cause.
And I hate saying this because it sounds like I condone the behavior, but I would rather someone poison themselves with drugs than to raise their fist to another individual.

If this was Jones' only incident, he wouldn't have missed any games
but it is not his only, so he is sitting

Not that I'm defending Pac
But Jones admitted to the drug thing. Even though Pac was involved in ALOT of incidents, he was not convicted of a single one.
Larry Johnson got 1 game for spitting on a woman, his 3rd or so battery charge. That’s 3 convictions….

I don't ever want to see that punk
in a Cowboys uniform ever again. I’m really hoping the indefinite suspension remains indefinite.

Man, you guys throw that "punk" word around
like you’re not talking about another grown man.
Dude has made some bad decisions, but punk is usually one of the last words uttered before a fistfight.
So unless I’m looking for a fight, I dont go there on another grown man.

And a punk is someone who backs down, who is afraid.
maybe Pacman’s problem is that he ain’t a punk, because he sure never shies away from confrontation.

Don't take it so personally
You act like Pacman offended you and call him a punk – are you a cowboys fan or not? If the guy can get his head straight and contribute to the team, welcome back. I don’t buy this whole “well we can’t depend on him if he screws up” nonsense. We are not dependent on him, we have built a strong, young secondary and if Pac can’t get his stuff together, we’ll be fine.
But if he can get it all together, this team will be that much better.

And that's what has slightly changed my tune about having him back
yes, I don’t trust him… but da King was smart enough to draft such young talents as Jenkins and Scandrick, so we won’t have to really depend on Pac.
You’re “dead on,” Billito.
But could you imagine if Jones could at least find his punt return mojo back… how much of a late-season bonus weapon that would be for us down the stretch?
Man, I wish we had a playmaking return guy…

i think the whole Pac thing is kind of a bonus
because of how they structured the deal as so low risk. as you say, they drafted as if they were not depending on him. if they had not done the deal at all, we’d be right where we are (except the rookies would have some more playing time). we got some decent games out of him. And we actually got a pick back already when we got suspended, so in a way maybe that will work out for the best. in fact, that might have freed Jerry up a bit to make the RW11 trade. so overall I’d say the whole thing has been a win even if he doesn’t come back, and he still has the potential to come back and contribute, perhaps for years to come.

+1 ..he is a bonus..and I welcome him back....
I’d take him over Anthony Henry any day……If I never see Henry on the field again, I’d be alright with that…It’s time for Wade to cut bait and just announce the demotion already, no more coddling of vet players (see Brad Johnson)….Henry is clearly our weakest link, and has contributed absolutely NOTHING this season…

I almost find myself hoping for Henry to get nicked up as awful as that sounds.

or to speed the transition to safety, where he could contribute more
considering our situation there. Henry is still better in coverage than KD at least…

co-sign
Henry has the potential to evolve into a playmaking FS, imho.
Pac/T-New/Jenkins/Scandrick/Ball: CBs
Henry/Hamner/Watkins/C. Brown/Bullett: Safeties
Minus RW1
On paper, that defensive backfield looks pretty solid — esp. with each game of experience for the kiddies… and considering Pac can keep himself clean from here on out IF he’s reinstated and IF he’s still on da roster.

fa sho.
I would love us to draft another SS in the draft though. I don’t think Watkins or C. Brown are the long term solutions..

THAT we can agree on.
I would love a hard-hitting one with good range and decent cover skills.

you can have Roy Williams
He’ll be cut after this year
by Deke on Nov 18, 2008 4:19 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I hope not
But if that is the case, we better have a better solution then Watkins or C. Brown ready to go..
Kyle Boller a better option then Brooks Bollinger?
link
not a lot of options for SS.

what is he...32?
how much evolving can he do? And he’s not the greatest tackler.

I've been saying it for two years now
Henry should of been moved to free safety, and get rid of roy Williams and move Halin to strong safety
