Could Cowboys Flip the Script on the Giants?
Could the Cowboys flip the script on the Giants from 2007 to 2008?
The Giants could easily end up 13-3 with home field advantage through the playoffs and be favored to win the NFC championship.
The Cowboys are having an up and down (and hopefully back up) season and could easily get hot for the end, wind up 10-6 or 11-5 and make the playoffs as the last seed, facing three away games.
Who knows, maybe the Titans could be the Pats of 2007, end up 18-0 and have all the focus be on their perfect season, only to have the Cowboys come in and pull of the greatest upset since... well last year!
It is possible...

Seems Possible...
But I just don’t see the Titans making it all the way to the Superbowl, I kinda see the Jets or the Steelers making an appearance there.

yeah
the Titans are certainly not the Pats and will likely end up like every other team (except one in the SB era) and lose eventually.
but in terms of the NFC side of the equation, man that would be sweet retribution against the Giants.

I would be
I can’t see Arizona traveling east and winning any cold weather games this January. That said I could see the Cards pulling off the upset at home this Sunday.

Cards will get a home game in the playoffs
during the WC round and will be either the 3 rd or 4th seed.

No way the Jets get close
That team is playing above its head, and they’re lead by a QB who can implode at any time. One can make the point that we have the same situation, but the overall cast here is much stronger.

A couple of things to consider
Besides last year’s Cowboys and the Fat Andy Eagles presented by Chunky Soup, NFC top seeds generally do a fair job of turning their homefield advantage into at least a Super Bowl trip (6 of 9 dating back to the ’99 Rams.)
The AFC not so much; dating back to a couple of Schottenheimer-coached Steve Bono-QB’ed Chiefs mid-’90s teams and well, a Schottenheimer-coached Chargers team in ’06 that had no business losing to the Patsies in their opening playoff game, AFC top seeds have been anything but bulletproof. It probably makes the most sense to actually expect the Titans to lose their playoff opener even if they creep their way to 14-2. Fact of the matter is only 3 out of the past 13 top seeded AFC teams have even reached the Super Bowl, including 6 losses by those AFC top seeds in their playoff opener.

I was noticing the similarities
between them last year and us this year.
It’s tough to be the rabbit all year.
This year we get to be the fox.

Anything is possible
but I don’t think we can really afford a regular season loss to them this year as much as they were able to afford their two losses to us last year. There are some amazing similarities though.

yeah that's another possible one though
of course it would be a huge help to get a win against them, but we can still make the playoffs even if we lost a second time, and then have a third matchup in the playoffs. it would be pretty wild to face off postseason twice in a row after never having done so before.

49ers
I really want to see how they follow up the Skins performance against the Niners this weekend. I’m worried that they could be caught off guard in this game. I don’t want to be talking about how the season is shot at 6-5 next Monday.

x2
all this talk of swagger and confidence is moot if we play down to their level (which is more difficult when their pants are around their ankes).
I commented. You're welcome.
