Redskins stuffing Pro Bowl ballot box
Stuffing the ballot box: It's as American as apple pie, baseball and defaulting on mortgages. Just ask fans of the Washington Redskins who, thanks to an aggressive marketing campaign by the team's front office, have turned Pro Bowl Internet voting into a tidal wave of burgundy and gold. According to ESPN.com (by way of the Redskins Blog and D.C Sports Bog), Washington has four of the top 10 vote-getters in the NFC and has players leading at a staggering 21 positions of 26 possible starting positions, including eight on offense, nine on defense and all four specialists.
This is thanks to the "Vote the Redskins Ticket" campaign put on by the Redskins, which encourages fans to "vote early and often" for Redskins players for the 2009 Pro Bowl.
What this shows more than anything is how bogus the Pro Bowl can be, as a popularity contest as much as a true measure of talent and production. Especially since you can vote as many times as you want. And that includes 13 Cowboys last year; some of them weren't really the best players (of course some of them actually were though).
But has a team ever actively campaigned like this for the Pro Bowl before? I mean, more Cowboys make it because we have more fans. And fans may campaign for it. But the team itself? It seems kind of desperate and pitiful really lol.
But hey, if you feel like trying to tip the balance some...

I guess they were pretty upset about 13 Cowboys making it.
The fans vote is only 1/3 of the vote though.
yup.
ask the 13 cowboys that got paid to go to hawaii last year.

dude when I was at the game...
The one street I walked down leading up to the stadium was ABSURD! It was loaded with signs that say Vote The Redskins ticket! Literally, hundreds of signs lining the streets telling people to vote for the Skins. No doubt they’re pissed because of Dallas. They’re so freakin’ unoriginal. That’s why they busted out terrible towels against us the week after Pitt smacked em around…

we just have to fight fire with fire
everyone on this blog should do the same thing with Cowboys players….I know I’ve already voted for Romo about 100 times already.
In Romo we Trust
Lame Skins
I still think ProBowl voting begins way too early in the season anyways. Now is the time that real players start playin
George Teague did it all.
